Re-enabling Spotlight does not appear to immediately reintroduce it, so it might be the initial caching that went bad - odd that it would happen on multiple Macs, though. Thanks for the help, Bill. Do you have the Entourage database excluded in the Privacy tab of Spotlight. If not, exclude it. This is not what Entourage uses for Spotlight caches. Do you have Time Machine set to backup Entourage? I encourage you to exclude it there also. It is not safe to backup Entourage while it is in use. -- Diane -- To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/ old-archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/

Sluggish text entry on calendar event subject line
We've been rolling out Entourage 2008 across our offices and have come across an issue with sluggish text entry on calendar events, but *only* on the subject line. Text entered on the Location line and/or in the body appears with no lag. It's almost 100% reproducible in our environment, so I'm wondering if others are seeing this, too? Entourage 12.1.1 on OS X 10.5.4 and 10.4.11, Exchange accounts with Exchange 2003 Server. The only reason I can see for the Subject line being sluggish is that at the same time you're also creating the name of the event, which is displayed at the top of the window. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything external that could even affect this. At this point you're not even interacting with a server. What kind of hardware are you using and how much RAM? Do you see a difference between PPC and Intel? If you launch Entourage with the Option key held down then you'll go into the Database Utility. One of the options you can disable is the constant scanning by the Database Daemon. Does disabling the scanning help? If you disable Spotlight in Entourage's preferences does that affect performance? -- bill Entourage Help Page http://entourage.mvps.org/ Entourage Help Blog http://blog.entourage.mvps.org/ YouTalk http://nine.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/youtalk Twitter: follow meck -- To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/ old-archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/
