Re: [Exchange] REceive connector Exchnage 2010

2014-09-04 Thread ccollins9
U, is it me or are none of these connectors are set to receive from 0.0.0.0
- 255.255.255.255? Going to be hard to receive email from the internet if
all your connectors can only receive from a 192.168 address, no? You need
to set a receive connector to ip range 0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255 AND
permissions group 'anonymous'. For example, here's my output from our
internet connector:

PermissionGroups: AnonymousUsers
PipeliningEnabled: True
ProtocolLoggingLevel : None
RemoteIPRanges
 : {::-:::::::, 0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255}
RequireEHLODomain : False

2014-09-04 Thread Michael B. Smith
You’ve got 3 receive connectors in your output. The first one doesn’t have
AnonymousUsers set on it. You probably want it to. Especially if you are trying
to, for example, accept non-authenticated email in the “Default WC-SBS1”
connector from IP addresses in the range of 192-168.10.0/24.

Ok

I have tried the command

Deleteing and recreating all connectors.
uninstalling and reinstlaling the hub transport role, and using windows SBS
manager fix netowrk connectivity to rebuild the connectors

and still the same errors

I have ran the

get-receiveconnector |fl

RE: [Exchange] REceive connector Exchnage 2010

I would personally also look at the ExtendedRights present on the connector. :)

But the OP seemed to just want the solution

GUI lied.

But your set-receiveconnector line is perfectly fine and should force the issue.

An Exchange 2010 server receive connector though apparently configured to
accept e-mail from an ip is rejecting e-mail from every ip with the error

550 5.7.1 External client with ip address does not have permissions to submit
to this server.

I have compared with other internet receive connectors and it is set the same.

Google seems to only bring up issues between hub and edge servers, this is a
multi role single server setup.

RE: PSS ughhh[Exchange] DB is mandatory on usermailbox / autodiscover fail

2014-09-04 Thread J- P

So after all the articles and tips and what not , I open a ticket with PSS
(they really should re-think that "P" in the title)

They are doing everything I told them I did, (going on 4 hrs now), then she
comes back with it seems to be permissions, so i said hmmm lets create a new
domain admin/exchange admin - and sure enough made no difference.

and now I get the "i'm researching this , please take a break to get something
to eat, really??"

so i guess I will be watching this remote session for a few more hours (if i'm
lucky)

I would suggest that Android doesn’t play well with ActiveSync. The
specifications are published and quite definitive.

Apple and Touchdown and Windows Phone and certain versions of Android deal with
ActiveSync very well.

Notes – they are another issue entirely.

We are running a mix of Galaxy S3’s and S5’s and we have those interface using
an app called Touchdown for Smartphones. This app uses the activesync with our
Exchange 2010 server to send emails, notes, tasks, calendar, contacts, etc to
the phone and vice versa. We have been using this for 2 years and it works
great, so yes, we can sync the Notes folder with our Android devices using the
Touchdown for Smartphones app.

I am not sure about using any other app though.

You can get pfSense appliances (www.netgate.com) or Fortigate appliances
for not-too-much funds.

They'll both do what you want here.

Also consider: http://www.ubnt.com/edgemax/edgerouter-pro/

RE: [Exchange] REceive connector Exchnage 2010

2014-09-04 Thread Daniel Chenault
Your question is not clear. "Apparently" configured - it either is or it isn't.
If it is set to accept from a specific IP the condition you state is expected
behavior. Could you clarify please?

An Exchange 2010 server receive connector though apparently configured to
accept e-mail from an ip is rejecting e-mail from every ip with the error
550 5.7.1 External client with ip address does not have permissions to submit
to this server.

I have compared with other internet receive connectors and it is set the same.
Google seems to only bring up issues between hub and edge servers, this is a
multi role single server setup.

RE: [Exchange] RE: E2010 ActiveSync Android 4.4.2 (Outlook notes)

2014-09-04 Thread Kuskie, Troy
We also use TouchDown (just acquired by Symantec)… but I wanted to mention that
on the Play & iTunes stores Microsoft has released an official OWA App. I
believe the Droid version is still beta but the iOS version works well.
However, I don’t think they support the “Notes” feature but they tie natively
into an Exchange organization and they are tight and require little overhead
and are similar to the Windows 8 Metro Mail App plus they are free!

I would suggest that Android doesn’t play well with ActiveSync. The
specifications are published and quite definitive.

Apple and Touchdown and Windows Phone and certain versions of Android deal with
ActiveSync very well.

Notes – they are another issue entirely.

So, is the lack of “Notes” being including in native ActiveSync on Android the

Or were there other factors?

We are running a mix of Galaxy S3’s and S5’s and we have those interface using

Is it possible to sync Outlook’s “Notes” folder with an Android 4.4.2 device?
After finding “Tasks” hidden within the phone’s calendar app, notes appears to

Or, I guess more generally – is there a list somewhere of what ActiveSync
