I have been trying to speed my machine up by avoiding using kde, i am quite taken by xfce and a few other environments, however i have a problem. Somehow I must have damaged my kde so that i cannot run most of its components in any evironment but kde. Konqueror and many others fail with the error........ "Can't talk to klauncher" I am pretty much baffled and have exhausted my abilities to troubleshoot. I am not an expert ( more of an "improver") but this question has boggled the best minds on alt.os.linux.mandrake twice now, so i figured i need some "industrial strenght" assistance. i have a happily installed and pretty much un-updated LM8.0
