Amanda, don't be too scared, i had perpherial t cell lymphoma in 2000 and they told me 3 months. went thru all chemos you listed and none worked. then tried Gemsar. it idin't work either and then i went into remission all on my own. been there for 5 years now. try prayer, it really does help. helped me. dorlis wendy [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Amanda, I don't have any experience with Lymphoma, but there are members here who have. I would like to know what treatments have helped you kitty`s live longer, they gave me two options; Chlorambucil and prednisone, or L- Asparaginase/vincristine/prednisone. I had a lyphoma kitty before, I think I saw her condition much later, she had lost alot of weight and had the chemo with vincristine , but she didn`t do well on it and got amenia and the lymphoma came back and she died within two months! So I am very scared, especially as my cat now seems well , but I know he needs help with the fluid in his chest, the vet drained one side today, but couldn`t get any from the other side out. your advice would be greatly appreciated! Hi Amanda I want you to know I am thinking of you and will be praying for your kitty. Tomorrow is a holiday here. Hopefully someone here who has experience with lymphoma. I was going to suggest the Feline Lymphoma group, but I see you just posted there. Those folks are very helpful. I nener dealt with this disease in my feline leukemia kitties. I joined so I could be ready for whatever came along. Amanda, I think you may want to join the Felinelymphoma yahoo group, I am a member and there are many there whose kitties have had this type of cancer before, it is one that is very treatable but only if you treat quickly and aggressively. You can join the group here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/feline_lymphoma And have a look at our website here: http://www.felinelymphomacaregivers.org/cases.html That page deals with the different types of cancer and the Mediastinal Lymphoma [chest cavity] is the one you want to read and become familiar with. Read the case studies of the kitties who have had this type of cancer and in particular Andi's story. We just recently lost her but she was in remission for about 6 years. http://www.felinelymphomacaregivers.org/andi.html The vet and protocol info is invaluable. The group is full of people who care and can offer a great support system. Just an FYI, Mediastinal Lymphoma is almost always very aggressive and needs to be treated aggressively, the second protocol [L-Asparaginase/vincristine/prednisone] or a variation of of it would be the preferred protocol for large cell. Large cell cancer spreads very quickly, that's what I mean by aggressive, the prednisolone and clorambucil protocol is used for smal cell cancers which spread much more slowly and takes longer to go into remission. Large cell usually goes into remission very quickly if treated aggrssively and quickly enough.
