I think horses have some kind of a stomach thing - they can't burp  
isn't it?  Consequently they can get in deep doo-doo so to speak,   
stomach-wise if they eat the wrong thing .

  Has anyone ever tried Gripe Water to help withbloat (before the stomach twists of course)in dogs  cats? Is it safe? There are two kinds:   1)- Chamomile 13mg, Ginger extract 2.5 mg, Fennel extract-2 mg, organic agave fructose, citric acid, glycerin, sodium bicarbonate  water. 2)- sodium bicarbonate 14 mg, ginger extract 5 mg, fennel extract 4mg, water, fructose, methylparaben, citric acid, propylparaben) It helpsa friend of mine with her colicy (human) baby.

I think it is mostly common in large dogs, not small ones, and I have never

I've never heard about it with cats.  I know the larger breed dogs are 
more prone to it and that it helps to have their food elevated and to 
not feed directly after strenuous exercise.

Maybe that's it. The size of the animal. We were just talking about how everyone here is so good about feeding 'good' diets to their cats and I give mine dry food. The dogs too.
