Herman - My understanding of the intended (albeit limitied) function of this plug-in is: It goes through your selected area and displays dynamics based on the midi key velocity found in that region. So if you use speedy/simple to enter your data, chances are good that everything will be pegged around an mf. I know it's not what I need it to be. Thanks John, Am I right in assuming that dynamics cannot be placed as easily as articulations? If I want to place a few identical dynamics in several measures, must each one be done manually? The dynamic placement plug-in is almost at the point where it might allow the placement of ANY dynamic. Herman ___ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale

You can place dynamics with metatools, just as you can with articulations. So just as you would select the articulation tool and hold down 1 while clicking to get a staccato dot (at least in my default library -- not sure what Coda's defaults are these days), you can select the expression tool and hold down 4 while clicking to get a forte marking. Take a look in the manual for further distinctions between measure-attached expressions and note-attached expressions. It is true that dynamic expressions are not auto-placing the way that articulations are, but there are a variety of ways to align things correctly, including the TGTools Align/Move function. There's also a library created by Johannes Gebauer of dynamic marks saved as articulations, which you can get from the Downloads page at www.finaletips.nu. This lets you place dynamics with the articulation tool (which makes them auto-positioning), but keep in mind that then they will only affect the playback dynamic of the single note to which they are attached (as an articulation would). Or you could place them as articulations and then use TGTools Align/Move to also convert them to note-attached expressions. [Finale] Auto dynamic placement plug-in
After selecting some measures, I cannot get the dynamic placement plug-in to place any dynamic but mf in a score. Anyone have a fix for this? I'm using FinMac 2003 on a G4, system 9.2.2 Thanks. Herman ___ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
