The promo code was sent in an e-mail (you may already have received it
by now) -- it does NOT lower the price below $89.

Dear fellow listers,

I might have missed something: what exactly is a promo code?
Does it make the upgrade any cheaper than $89? I for one didn't receive
an e-mail from Coda at all...

Mario.

The promo code isn't useless for Coda because most people won't even
see it. I would have missed it for sure if Chris Smith hadn't
mentioned it (even though it ultimately didn't work for him). It's
like those mail-in rebates -- Coda is assuming most people can't be
bothered.

I have all spam filtering turned off at the server for my account, though.
Hmmm..

Mine was spam-filtered because of all the HTML and internal links, but I
recovered it from the trash. Since you are Earthlink and they have
aggressive spam filters, maybe it was trashed before it even got to you.

yup- I was over the proverbial barrel.

I guess you had a good reason to upgrade just before the traditional
summer
announcement of the next version. Did you have to use 2003 files from
someone else to do it at this very moment?

Re: [Finale] Fin2004 Discount

2003-08-10 Thread Rich Caldwell
The e-mail was identified as spam by one of the filters I have, so it
might get by some people without them knowing.

AFAIK, the discount is only for those who purchased 2002, and, they
assume, didn't get the 2003 upgrade since it wasn't OS X compatible.
The discount is from the regular upgrade price that would have been
for 20022004, making it the same as for 20032004 upgraders. I.e.,
no upgrades are below $89.

Anyway, if you're registered on the site, it should know what version
you have so the promo code is kind of useless (I think).

I was afraid they'd allow a discount only for 2002 users. I should
NEVER have gotten the 2003 upgrade. I didn't use it until a couple
months ago, and that was only because of a silly mistake. Oh well...
I didn't play my cards right and I lost. :-)

How much is it with the discount?

I thought I was pretty clear in my last mail, but here it is again.

If you are upgrading from FinMac 2003, you don't need the promo code.

If you are upgrading from FinMac *2002*, if you enter the promo code
you will get the same price as those upgrading from FinMac 2003 --
i.e., $89.95. The promo code basically means there is no penalty for
those who skipped Finale 2003 because it wasn't OS X compatible.

But you have to *manually* enter the promotional code. At least, I did.
