Subject: [Fink-beginners] XDarwin won't start
I just upgraded to Panther and deleted my old fink install
Is that necessary?
I just upgraded to Panther, downloaded and
installed the new Apple X11 and everything
seems to work fine so far. Just a bit more snappy.
Probably not ... but I'd installed postfix, and since I now wanted to use
Apple's built in version I figured rather than trying to figure out
postfix's tree I'd just trash everything - relatively painless to do since
my only changes were for postfix's main.cf. As a plus I'd recompile
everything under gcc 3.3, which I'd understood to be faster.
Anyway, now I'm finding all kinds of interesting things - like attempting to
install tetex refuses to see that the Apple default installation contains
ghostscript 7.05 - and as a result tetex wants to install ghostscript 6.
