[Fink-users] FEtk for Fink

2009-09-21 Thread Alan
Hi there,
Can someone tell me if FEtk will be included in Fink?

http://www.fetk.org/

I know that at least APBS may do use of it.

Many thanks in advance.

Alan

Hello, Alan. Please add a new package request in our package requests
tracker:

https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=17203atid=371315

and send an e-mail to fink-devel with a link to your package request

subscribes to fink-users but most maintainers subscribe to fink-devel.

[Fink-users] fink crashes with beta Growl

2009-09-21 Thread Jon Connell
If sued with a beta version of growl, Fink says:

Use of uninitialized value $growl_version in string eq at

Which is down to the interpretation of Growl versions in
Fink::VirtPackage. A fix would be to adapt the regexp to include 'b' in
the version string.

Hello, Peter. The latest version on the unstable tree is 2.1.2-4.
Could you please run fink selfupdate and try that? What selfupdate
method are you using: point, cvs, rsync?

Re: [Fink-users] libftgl1-shlibs compile problem - OSX 10.6 / 64bit

2009-09-21 Thread kostka
I'm using the rsync selfupdate.
and I got the very last release:

  fink list libftgl1-shlibs
Information about 8140 packages read in 1 seconds.
libftgl1-shlibs 2.1.2-4Shared libraries for FTGL

I did check out again - same result.

Cheers,

Hello, Peter. The latest version on the unstable tree is 2.1.2-4.
Could you please run fink selfupdate and try that? What selfupdate
method are you using: point, cvs, rsync?

 Cheers,

Ok, then. Let's notify the maintainer (cc'ed). For what it's worth,
I've been able to build libftgl1 on both 10.5/i386 and 10.5/x86_64.

I get the same error as Peter. If I just patch that superfluous

[Fink-users] Can't install 'samba' or 'samba-ldap' -- missing file

Folks:

I'm trying to install 'samba' or 'samba-ldap' on my 10.5.8 Mac running
up-to-date fink stable. It fails to download the file

Thanks a lot. While I'm waiting, a more general question: I was
trying to install samba in order to see if I could access DFS shares
using smbmount. Does anyone know if that works through fink's samba?
It works on linux samba, so presumably it should here too.
Separately, is there a better way to access DFS shares through fink?

Thanks a lot.

It doesn't include smbmount, presumably because Apple wants you to hit
command-K. But the command-K interface doesn't understand DFS shares,
which is a real bummer for those of us in offices including them.

I can do this trick:

http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20020610225855377

But it also doesn't understand DFS. So I figure I need a real
smbmount binary, or Thursby's DAVE. But I'd like to use FOSS if at
all possible.

Thanks again for all your help.
