Re: [Fink-users] fink libdjvulibre15-shlibs

2009-09-26 Thread David R. Morrison
Fink cannot possibly support compiling in all situations,
particularly ones where Fink has no control over what has been
installed where (such as MacPorts).

I'm happy to learn that you see no compiling errors when you
uninstall MacPorts.

Ok, I installed openssl098-shlib and I get past that point. It will
build but won't install:

The following package will be installed or updated:

Fink isn't sure how to install the above packages safely. You may be
able to

fix things by running:

  fink scanpackages
  sudo apt-get update
  sudo apt-get install kdesvn-kde4-x11=1.4.0-1002

Failed: Fink::SysState: Could not resolve inconsistent dependencies

So I ran those commands and it said:

Of course I said NO. I didn't want to uninstall the bundle-kde4-ssl-

What gives? Cant this package be used with the bundle-kde4-ssl-x11?

No, it cannot. My understanding is that its svn stuff collides with the
svn stuff from kdesdk4-x11-svn-ioslave, so they can't coexist. Removing
just the bundle package and the sdk stuff doesn't remove _everything_,
as the bundle just depends on the rest of KDE but doesn't actually
install anything on its own.

[Fink-users] opengl-py25 builds with minimal patching on 64-bit fink (Mac OS 10.5.x)

2009-09-26 Thread Stefan Bruda
Hi,

I doscovered that opengl-py25 does not build on my 64-bit fink
installation (Mac OS 10.5.*) simply because /sw64/bin/tclsh8.4 does
not exist (not sure why). Going however to /sw64/bin/tclsh8.5 causes
the thing to build fine. I am not sure if it actually works mind you
(I have yet to install some other things to test). Here is the patch
in case it is useful.

Cheers,
Stefan

[Fink-users] sdl-mixer-1.2.8-12 build fails (64-bit, Mac OS 10.5.*)

Hi,

While installing pygame-py25 I get stuck on sdl-mixer-1.2.8-12, whose

did not have the time to dig deeper. Any advice is appreciated. This
all happens on a 64-bit fink under Mac OS 10.5.8, Xcode 3.1.3.

[Fink-users] swi-prolog fix for compilation

2009-09-26 Thread Aaron Magill
I managed to get swi-prolog to compile and install under 64bit Snow
Leopard by modifying the ConfigureParams line in the swi-prolog.info
file to include --x-includes=/usr/X11R6/include --x-libraries=/usr/
X11R6/lib.

In more detail:

cp /sw/fink/10.6/unstable/main/finkinfo/languages/swi-prolog.info /sw/
fink/10.6/local/main/finkinfo/swi-prolog.info
vi /sw/fink/10.6/local/main/finkinfo/swi-prolog.info

bump revision to 3, then look for ConfigureParams: --mandir=%p/share/
man --enable-shared --with-world and change to
ConfigureParams: --mandir=%p/share/man --enable-shared --with-world --
x-includes=/usr/X11R6/include --x-libraries=/usr/X11R6/lib

fink index
fink install swi-prolog

xpce and swipl both start, and some basic prolog commands seem to work
-- I am not proficient with prolog, so I can't really fully test it,
but as I said, it seems to start up fine.

Is there another mailing list or person I should forward this
information to as well?

While installing pygame-py25 I get stuck on sdl-mixer-1.2.8-12, whose
build fails. On a first look it appears like a missing header but I
did not have the time to dig deeper. Any advice is appreciated. This
all happens on a 64-bit fink under Mac OS 10.5.8, Xcode 3.1.3.

The maintainer is aware of the situation. Unfortunately, there's no
quick fix. sdl-mixer uses the QuickTimeMusic API which doesn't exist
in 64 bit, and will have to be rewritten to use CoreAudio.

Thank you very much for the info. It looks like the 64-bit fink tree
is not for me yet...
