[Fink-users] fuse4x-dev-0.8.13-2 fails compiling

2011-12-02 Thread Remi Mommsen
Hi,

I try to build fuse4x-dev-0.8.13-2 on 10.7. However, the configure step fails
(see below). I installed gettext-tools, which does provide iconv.m4 defining
AM_ICONV, but the configure still fails in the same way.

Thanks,
Remi

2011-12-02 Thread Loredana Spezzi
Hi,

I'm trying to install atals on my Mac Os X 10.7.2 with:

fink install atlas atlas-shlibs

At some point I get the error reported below and I cannot solve the
problem (I already tried fink selfupdate etc).

Thanks in advance for your help,

Loredana

It worked for me just now, even with fink's autoconf, so something
else must be the cause. Do you have libtool2 installed?

which does provide iconv.m4 defining AM_ICONV, but the
configure still fails in the same way.

It worked for me just now, even with fink's autoconf, so something
else must be the cause. Do you have libtool2 installed?

Interesting. I had only libtool2-shlibs installed. Installing libtool2 does not
change anything.

However, installing 'automake1.11', 'gettext-tools', and 'libtool2' solves the
problem.

Thanks,
Remi

[Fink-users] help on dbus

2011-12-02 Thread Howard Matis
I had a lot of trouble installing cernlib. But eventually got it working. The
solution involved reinstalling Xcode and removing a Snow Leopard old link.

Now, I have a new problem when I try to install root.

I did try

fink reinstall passwd-messagebus as suggested by an earlier person. That did
nothing.

It looks like my C complier does not work as you see below. In the sequence,
I get

Any help. It is probably some legacy from Snow Leopard. I do not know where
to look for config.log.

Thanks. That seems to fix it. I also note that I have

should these be removed too? Some are just symbolic links.

Yes, because you have a leftover, broken, gcc-4.2 after your Xcode
upgrade; actually a legacy from Xcode 4.1, if you had that
installed. The uninstall-devtools script apparently doesn't
actually clean that (we had another report of this for dbus, but I
wasn't quite clear on what the poster meant at that time).

Remove /usr/bin/gcc-4.2 and /usr/bin/g++-4.2 (if present).

Definitely not gcov-4.2, which is part of the current LLVM compiler or
the files mentioning llvm.

I'm not on Lion at the moment, so I can't tell for sure about what
installed c++-4.2 or cpp-4.2, but on my system the modification dates
are May 16, 2011, which is definitely before Lion.

Re: [Fink-users] gnuplot-nox

2011-12-02 Thread David R. Morrison
A general piece of advice, when you have things installed in /usr/local, is
that you need to move /usr/local out of the way while fink is compiling things.
(This is because it is impossible to disable the search into the /usr/local
pathway by the compiler and linker.)

So, before installing with fink: sudo mv /usr/local /usr/local-not and then
after installation, sudo mv /usr/local-not /usr/local.
