[Fink-users] clamav on 10.7

2011-08-31 Thread Claus Atzenbeck
Hi all:

I have
Mac OS X 10.7.1 i386
Package manager version: 0.31.0
Distribution version: selfupdate-rsync Tue Aug 30 19:10:44 2011, 10.7, x86_64

When I try to install clamav, I receive the following message:

[pyron:~] admin$ fink install clamav
Information about 2965 packages read in 0 seconds.
Can't resolve dependency system-java-dev for package ppl9-0.11.2-2 (no
matching packages/versions found)
Exiting with failure.

Is there any known workaround?

Cheers,
Claus

Your problem isn't directly related to clamav, and only marginally
related to ppl9.

You're missing the Java developer files from Apple, which normally
shouldn't happen, provided that:

1) You bootstrap a new Fink installation rather than upgrading in
place, because fink will stop the bootstrap operation if you're
missing these.

2) You didn't use the Recovery Partition to revert your system area
to a state prior to the installation of Fink, and thereby lose the
Java SDK (or whatever they call it these days).

Apple has gone to as scheme where they install Java on-demand when
apps need it, but the system-java-dev dependency blocks this. It's
fragile, anyway, on multithreaded builds to expect that something will
be downloaded and installed before another thread needs it.

The bootstrap code indicates running /usr/bin/javac will request an
install of the Java SDK, so try that.

I upgraded to 10.7, then I installed the developer tools and additionally to

That would indicate that at least the jni.h file which Fink uses to
detect the Java SDK doesn't appear to be installed where Fink expects it.

Check /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Headers to make sure
that it has other Java headers in it. If so, then you can copy jni.h
from the 10.7SDK (which should be installed--you can use 'fink list
system-sdk-10.7' to verify that) via

sudo cp
/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.7.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Headers/jni.h
/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Headers

(on one line)

If /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Headers is empty or
nonexistent, then the Java SDK may need to be reinstalled.

I reinstalled Java SDK and also tried the latest developer preview,

[Fink-users] clamav mirrors.dat

2009-07-03 Thread Robert Wyatt
On 10.5 using the unstable tree and everything being current I've been
getting a message in Terminal.app when I run freshclam:
ERROR: Can't open mirrors.dat for writing

I compared permissions on
-rw--- /sw/var/db/clamav/mirrors.dat
-rw-rw-r-- /usr/local/clamXav/share/clamav/mirrors.dat

and updated the fink version with:
sudo chmod 644 /sw/var/db/clamav/mirrors.dat

I think I have to wait until tomorrow to do another freshclam to see if
I get the same error. That is, I've tried freshclam again and do not see
the error, but then the database is not updated (because it already was
today) so I don't know if there is an attempt made to update mirrors.dat.

I suppose this is a note more than a question, but if you see a problem

I guess you are running freshclam as your normal user. I would
recommend to use 'sudo freshclam', i.e. use root.

I think that wont help, as the normal user still cannot write to it.
(It should be chmod 664 if you want the same permissions.) However,

 Mach header
magic cputype cpusubtype filetype ncmds sizeofcmds flags
 0xfeedface 18100 6 9 1324 0x0085

cpusubtype 100 is PPC970 = G5 (run otool -hv, it will tell you
ppc970). So this library was compiled on (and optimised for) a G5, and
it fails when you try to run it on a G4 or earlier.

Try if rebuilding gmp-shlibs solves your problem.

This looks like a problem with the gmp-shlibs package or perhaps a
libtool bug.

From the gmp build log I see that it uses the compile flag
-force_cpusubtype_ALL when it compiles the *.o objects, but it forgets
this flag when it links the dylibs. The flag is there on the libtool
command line, but not on the actual linker line; libtool drops it.

Srictly speaking, gmp would need to come in cpusubtype flavors.
Even if the -force_cpusubtype_ALL were used throughout, the resulting
binaries are not the same when compiled on G4 or on G5, because it uses
also the -mcpu=7450 or -mcpu=970 flags, depending on the build machine.

Dave,

in case Andrew doesn't have this information about his ante-rebuilding
version any more, here is what I can see from several gmp-shlibs debs
lying around here:

In version 4.1.4 which is also in the bindist, the library is built with
cpusubtype=ALL, because the only relevant linker flag is -mpowerpc
(which, if I read my logfile correctly, gets dropped by libtool). So no
problem with this one.

In version 4.2 and 4.2.1, the library is built with cpusubtype=ppc970 on
a G5, because the relevant linker flags are -mpowerpc
-force_cpusubtype_ALL -mcpu=970, and the -force... gets dropped, but
the -m... flags make it onto the real linker line.

These must probably have been built with different libtool versions,
because the -mpowerpc is transmitted to the real linker line in one
version and not in the other one.

Hmm. What sort of box is this on?

Try the following 2 commands:

See what the cpusubtype column says in each case. You may just need

I don't believe so, that's really a question for the Maintainer. Fink
has clamav 0.86.1 for both 10.3 and 10.4T; 0.86.2 was released less
than a week ago.

There are no plans to freeze the 10.3 trees themselves, so it's up to
each maintainer to maintain their stuff, or for others help test and
provide feedback for machines to which a given maintainer does not
have access.

[Fink-users] clamav 0.8

2004-10-25 Thread Ersatz Sophist
Hello everyone,
According to the fink page, ClamAV 0.8 has hit the unstable tree, but
it doesn't show up in my fink when I update via rsync. As far as I
know, things are working well. Fink was updated to 0.23.1-1 today.

I am running Panther.5, XCode 1.5, and all the latest updates. I am on
the unstable tree.

Thanks.

I updated my ClamAV install this morning and I think I am going
insane. I can't find clamd which should be installed in
/sw/sbin/clamd .

Did they completely change things??
thanbks,
jason

It's in a separate clamav-daemon package now.

I cannot get it to work with clamAV 0.80 neither. I guess clamXav needs
to be updated to check for the newer version number. I guess Mark Allan
can comment on this.

[Fink-users] clamav warning

2004-10-18 Thread Christian Ebert
Hello,

When I run freshclam I get the following warning:

WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED - please update immediately!
WARNING: Current functionality level = 2, required = 3

If it is what it seems to be, an update for 10.2-gcc3 (which I am
running) would be useful.

fink --version
Package manager version: 0.22.3
Distribution version: 0.6.3.rsync

TIA

You are running clamav version 0.75, right? I get the same warning and
I'm a bit puzzled about it. Version 0.80 was released yesterday. I am
preparing an update for the fink package as I write. I guess you can
ignore the warning for the time being.

Cheers,
Remi

Failure is not an option.
It comes bundled with your Microsoft product. (Ferenc Mantfeld)

Does anyone know if clamav is almost ready to be moved to the 10.3 list
of usable ports?

Thanks!

Hello all,

I'm new to the list and while I've tried googling for the answer to this, I
may have overlooked something obvious...

I've been using Fink Commander (great front-end program, so far...especially
if you're new to Fink) but it's been erroring out when I try to install
clamav from source. I am updating with selfupdate-cvs, and even though I'm
trying the default sites when trying the download, both places say that the
file isn't found.
