[flexcoders] Flex Module for Apache

2007-03-20 Thread John Barrett
Hi,
just to let everybody know that the Flex module for Apache is working!
Christian from adobe help me out so much`-`
It is so cool, you can view mxml files on the server(localhost) without them
being compiled, I think that the server compiles them, if so very fast on my
mac.
You can download this on adobe labs.

Cheers,
John

[flexcoders] Flex Module for Apache

2007-03-17 Thread John Barrett
Hi,
I tried in the past to instal a flex server using JRun, and FDS, but I could
not figure it out.
Tonight I tried to install the flex module for apache on my mac, but it killed
my apache localhost.
for a detail of what happened:
after installing, restarting apache the httpd server would not load.
I get this error:
sudo apachectl start
error message:
[Fri Mar 16 23:23:56 2007]
[warn] Loaded DSO /Applications/JRun4/lib/wsconfig/1/mod_jrun.so uses
plain Apache 1.3 API, this module might crash under EAPI! (please
recompile it with -DEAPI)
Processing config directory: /private/etc/httpd/users/*.conf
 Processing config file: /private/etc/httpd/users/johnbarrett.conf
Syntax error on line 1126 of /etc/httpd/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /Users/johnbarrett/flexSamples/flex/modules/mod_flex.so into
server: (reason unknown)
/usr/sbin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started

In the httpd.conf file, the installer put this(right after the Jrun settings):
In httpd.conf:
Include /private/etc/httpd/users/*.conf
LoadModule flex_module /Users/johnbarrett/flexSamples/flex/modules/mod_flex.so
AddHandler flex .mxml

I checked , and the file
/Users/johnbarrett/flexSamples/flex/modules/mod_flex.so is there.
I would love to get this running, as it would be great to be able to use as a
local server.

Can anybody help me figure this out?
Thanks so much,and aloha
John
