[Flightgear-devel] forwarded message from Public CVS Access

2003-06-12 Thread Curtis L. Olson
Someone just made some changes in cvs to the
fgroot/data/Docs/getstart.html file. Unfortunately the files were
publically writable ?!? I'm not sure how that one snuck through, but
it is fixed now.

So, to whoever did this, please not that you updated an autogenerated
file and not the original source. This change should probably be
resubmitted through the proper channels and against the correct source
file, otherwise it will get lost the next time the html version is
generated.

Thanks,

Curt.

[Flightgear-devel] Aero-Matic

2003-06-12 Thread David Culp
I've been thinking (always dangerous) about using an internet form to
auto-generate aerodynamic configuration files for JSBSim. The form would
look something like this: http://home.attbi.com/~davidculp2/fmm.html , and
will have a cgi program on the server that will spit out a plausible config
file, and engine files. So, before I learn php and install apache on my
machine, I wonder if anybody handy with cgi and who has access to a
cgi-enabled web server would like to help out with this project. The math
bits are already done for the most part:
http://home.attbi.com/~davidculp2/aeromatic.data

This will be a help to those who want to build a new model, but are
intimidated by the aero config files. And, this is a great way to learn how
the JSBSim aero config process works.

[Flightgear-devel] 3d extensions allowed

2003-06-12 Thread WillyB
I'm wondering what 3d model extensions are usable for scenery...

I have Blender (but don't think .blend files work)
prettypoly will not compile here :/ It's 2 or 3 years since last update of it
on sourceforge.

I can't find any converters to convert .blend files to .ac files

Just wondering which extensions plib supports so I may be able to find
something to convert blend files to so they work.

TIA

WillyB

2003-06-12 Thread Frederic Bouvier
There is a Python script that can be run in Blender to export
to the ac3d format :

Unfortunately, I have a 404 error today.

Thanks Fred!
I found the scripts that were there and they are working pretty good so far :)

[Flightgear-devel] 64-Bit Question

2003-06-12 Thread Jonathan Polley
Now that 64-bit processors are becoming more available, does anyone
know of any problems that FlightGear may have running on a 64-bit
processor (Opteron or PowerPC 970)? I am assuming that those areas
that would be sensitive to data sizes (i.e., file formats) are safe?
