The simulator pilot uses joystick, keyboard and other input devices to fly any of dozens of realistic aircraft models around the world. The FlightGear python class offers scripted access into the running simulation across the network, enabling a flight instructor to adjust settings in a student pilot's flight training environment. Both the simulator and the class are portable and platform neutral so either can be run on Linux, MacOS, SGI or Windows systems. This talk will explain how the python class achieves its goals, show flightgear's capabilities for simulating light aircraft, and then demonstrate the python making changes to the configuration.
