RE: [Flightgear-devel] Future feature proposal to think about...

Funny where you are sometimes, when ideas occur to you. I was in
the shower, thinking about various aspects of FG when I thought,
while doing some logical toppling: wouldn't it be fun in
multi-player if there was a mode where instead of one player to
one aircraft we could have many people to one aircraft, so that
several people could crew a single aircraft...

Some sort of voice comms would be a must but then think of the
 tutorial possibilities...

It's not too difficult to imagine several people occupying
different roles on larger aircraft i.e first second pilot,
navigator, flight engineer etc. not to mention the
 possibilities in combat related simulation.

...anyway, just something to think about.

Those busy working on MP are already thinking about this idea. It ought to
be possible, although we would have to live with the inherent network
latencies involved. We also have a controllable wingman in mind.

All this after getting MP working properly, and then comes getting the
carrier into MP ...

I know this phenomenon. You typically get the best ideas while being at
places where there's no chance to write them down: In the shower, on a
boring ride with the car or on the toilet :-)
Once you left the very place you have to realize that so many great
ideas occurred in the meantime that you can't remember them all :-/

It's not too difficult to imagine several people occupying
different roles on larger aircraft i.e first second pilot,
 navigator, flight engineer etc.

You don't have toilet paper?

What would be useful for tutorials is if you could see where the other
user is looking, where their mouse pointer is, when they click with what
buttons, and where their joystick axises are.
