My compliment to David P. for the fading prop disc - compared to everything I've seen before this is close to perfect. Even details like the tips of the prop blades look pretty much realistic, Martin. -- Unix _IS_ user friendly - it's just selective about who its friends are ! -- --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media. I think it's fair to say that the pa24-250 Comanche is now our best-looking and most accurate interior 3D model of a general-aviation piston plane, single or twin. The flight model still needs work, but it's also coming along well. I wish I had time to fix up the c172 Skyhawk or pa28-160 Warrior to the same level of detail so that we could have a nicer default starting plane (the Comanche is too fast and complex for a beginner). I'd vote for the Cherokee/Warrior over the Skyhawk, not only because I own one, but because everyone else seems to use a Skyhawk by default in their sims. As FlightGear doesn't model carb heating I'm curious that this knob is for. That is a working mixture control. Since I live in Colorado and my base airport is over 5000 ft MSL, I use it every run-up. My Warrior's carb heat is a lever to the right of the throttle and mixture -- I wonder if the red knob on the Comanche is for alternate static air or something similar. I came along one nit: Instead of pressing 'Ctrl-p' I accidentially hit 'Shift-p' - and the 2D-panel popped up. The old panel must be referenced somewhere, I assume this is not intended - is it ? If you look in the FGShortRef in the Doc folder tab 3, you will find P Toggle instrument panel on/off. The same happens in all the other AC I tried (c172p, pa28-161, and others) with the exception that in some cases the set.xml files assign their own 2D pannel (e.g. f16-3d). ;-) Dave Perry --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
