work load gets on each, and this might also speed Erik's comeback.

I don't think this is a good solution. The more people have CVS write
access the less responsibility each of them feels. Look at PLIB: _Many_
people have write access and really _nobody_ cares if one of them
commits a fix that breaks building the beast on other people's
platform. Adding to that in fact PLIB doesn't have no project
coordinator/leader any more

Martin.

[Flightgear-devel] Resigning as patch committer.

2006-02-21 Thread Erik Hofman

Hi,

I have finally made the decision not to commit any patches from others
anymore. I think I've done my time over the last few years but this
accident this morning alone has cost me more than half a day.

I need to spent my time on more important work.

Regards,

Erik

Really sorry to hear that, but understandable. Many thanks for committing all
my stuff over the years! So, next question, to whom can we, contributers
without CVS write access, commit our contributions to?

As a long-time contributer, I'm actually thinking about volunteering, if that
would come with the advantage of being able to check in my own stuff
directly.

Cheers,
Durk

I'm sure we all sympathise with your decision. I would like to say a
personal thank you for your help and understanding over the last years in
getting my stuff in FG. And particularly in correcting the all too frequent
 errors!

Let me second this! You have done an exemplary job, Erik.

Many thanks,
