RE: 51D's external hard disks
Hi Warren, Thanks for your response. The release Day Zeroed onto the external hard drive is V6.2 - attempted both with and without the Pre-Install Diskette to the same end. The panic message (after boot kabd command) is as follows: Cannot mount root on /pseudo/md@0:0,0,blk fstype ufs panic[cpu0]/thread=0x10402040: vfs_mountroot: cannot mount root stopped at E_Syslimit+0x84:ta %icc,%go + 125 Feel free to decipher this at will. RE: 51D's external hard disks
Hello Aaah just as I suspected. You have remnants of disk mirroring left over when you installed on the external disk drive. I am going to guess that the Mirroring database for the external 4 GB drive 'knows' that it is the first disk controller (i.e. c0t0d0) when in fact it is on the second controller (c1t0d0) and the internal IDE drive is on the first controller. There are two options here - both of which are not supported by Foxboro / Invensys. If you want to go down that path then we best take this discussion off the list. I don't recall if you said why you are trying to do this ? The 51D family was supposed to use the internal drive. The marketing thinking was that if you wanted features associated with external SCSI drives then you would select the 51E family. RE: upload timeout errors
To be honest, I'm not sure. I know it varies with the Control Station type (CP-10/30/40/60, CmP-15/30, AW-I, microI/A, etc) If I was dealing with this issue, I would compare the performance across the stations while uploading and see if I could determine that. I also suspect that it is linked to the amount of broadcast traffic in the plant. This is harder to analyze without FoxWatch, but it should be examined. Re: Protectin Environments II
Stefano, We are also trying to do the same thing. We are using NCD xterms and are only using FoxView. What we have done, is created a new environment directory /opt/fox/xterm/env/ with the environments set up the way we want. In the foxview.sh script we then check to see if a xterm is running the script and if so set the display variable ENV_DIR=/opt/fox/xterm/env That seems to work so far. It should be virutally the same to do for display manager. POCKET PC'S IA SYSTEM
Title: POCKET PC'S IA SYSTEM Hi: I send you this email previously but I don't have any response. Probably it was a problem with my email (?) We are starting a research in the uses of PocketPC's in these areas (very related with the IA System). In fact, we have some IPAQ wireless connected to our LAN and we can view/modify the IA displays using the feeware VNC. Also, we can start telnet or FTP sessions from the small screen of this PPC. We think that these PPC are very interesting to check the hardware: field enclosures, etc. It's possible to carry it to test the signals with a remote DM in the VNC. Also, it's possible to use it like a walkie-talkie with Microsoft Portrait sofware. Anyone has some experience using these PDA's on this or related subjects?
