Re: CAE suggestions
Hear Hear Freddy, I 'd like to see ladder logic documentable in CAE as well. I would also like to be able to edit these features in CAE too. In general I think that SFC is not very friendly when it comes to documentation and printing. Regards, Gabriel. Freddy Why [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent by: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 08/29/2001 01:56 PM Please respond to Foxboro DCS Mail List To:[EMAIL PROTECTED] cc: Subject:CAE suggestions I am using FCAE version 4.0. One of the enhancement mentioned is SFC_ST support. However when you try to look at or print SFC_ST listing it comes up with the error message SFC configurator not loaded I believe this is supported on an AW70. Seems at bit of a costly exercise just to document SFC code, as this means I need to purchase an AW70 licence + SFC package for NT. All I need is the ability to document SFC online from a PC with no I/A on it connected to an an AW51D. Regards, Freddy Why
One more CAE suggestion.
When you perform on online transfer download to an existing compound, that compound is left turned OFF, is this necessary ? or could an option be provided to select the mode of the compound after download ? Regards, Gabriel.
Re: FoxCAE Enhancements
1, Ctrl F and Ctrl G (Find and Find next) dont work in either the Taglist window or the Source code window. The new FILTER feature in the taglist view, is too cumbersome for simpler find work. The old way was better, now its almost impossible to navigate/edit/copy source code. This is really bad. 2, When using the Ctrl B (replace) feature in the taglist view, neither the Tag or the L_Tag are selectable for global modification/replacement, I find this a major hindrance. This is bad. 3, There is a feature, Ctrl M, which is available in most views to allow multiple selection of blocks etc. but you must tick each block individually with the cursor to select them, the previous version allowed use of the uppercase arrow and Ctrl key in combination with the cursor to select large, spreadout, chunks of blocks or whatever. (Think of selecting multiple cells in Excel and you will know what I mean here). This is, well, a bit dumb. 4, Loop copying truncates most of the tag/block/compound data if the loops are not typicals, this is bad. 5, When importing taglists, there was a feature to save the mapping from the import file, this message/prompt now comes up with no text in the box, just the YES/NO buttons. Some of these type of messages are in German, and yes, I did an English install. This is just a niggle. 6, New TAGS dont appear in loop view, the only way I know to make them appear is to export the TAGLIST and then import it again. This is bad. 7, If you export the taglist and then import it (directly, without changes) some loops are listed as being modified, but no parameters are listed in the differences display area. This is misleading. 8, I set up a user for level 1 access which means read only. If this user activates a nest view from the Enclosure Loading view, the add/remove tag buttons in the lower left corner are not selectable, suggesting access is denied, but if you double-click on a tag in an fbm, a message appears requesting confirm/cancel deleting the tag. Basically double-clicking in an fbm area opens up the various add/delete options for tags in this view. This is not good if you wanted multiple user access. This is not good. 9, Why does the online transfer window automatically close after a transfer, it takes too long to connect to the AWs (weve got 8) each time, I frequently want to transfer more than one CP, couldnt we just have an exit or close button to end this session manually. This is a pain. 10, Can we have proper support for SFC programmes and ladder logic, Ver 4. will transfer these, I think, but you cant view/edit etc. This will never happen, right ? I can provide further clarification if needed. Regards, Gabriel

AIN block CSI 42.
x-html brfont size=2 face=Courier NewWe use DIN Platinum RTDs, so I gather the SCI in the AIN block should be br set to 42, but if I use this SCI, the block wont read negative temperature br values, so we have to use the IEC index of 43.br Can anybody throw light on this please ? Am I correct in my assumptions ? br br What do others do in this situation ?br br Regards,br Gabriel O'Dwyer,br Eli Lilly,br Ireland./font/x-html
Re: FBM03 Drift Characteristics
x-html brfont size=2 face=sans-serifGaylon, I can only offer initial thoughts./font brfont size=2 face=sans-serifHow are you determining the drift over one year ? Is it that your MW output has changed relative to a controlled water temperature ? If this is the case are you sure the drift is caused by the temperature measurment end of your controlled system ? i.e. have you verified the drift against another measurment method ?/font br brfont size=2 face=sans-serifHow long are you measuring this temperature with the same RTD/FM combination ? You could be seeing drift due to RTD degradation/time, degradation of wiring connections, or some form of quot;cookingquot; within the FBM circuitry. Is there any change in the drift rate over the year which might suggest seasonal ambient temperature changes not being correctly compensated for ?./font br brfont size=2 face=sans-serifGood luck,/font brfont size=2 face=sans-serifGabriel./font/x-html
Re: FoxCAE: Does it works?
x-html brfont size=2 face=sans-serifI use it a lot, (Ver 4.0), yes theres a lot of quirkes. Most can be overcome. Re: What Honeywell hath wrought
This sounds a lot like FoxCAE, O.K. the multiple signal FBMS dont get fair treatment on anything I've seen, but CAE can do lots of whats been spoken of here and has lots of other nice features too. Wheres Alex Johnson on this one ? :-) Gabriel. --- This list is neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Foxboro Company.
