POCKET PC'S IA SYSTEM

Title: POCKET PC'S IA SYSTEM

Hi:

I send you this email previously but I don't have any response. Probably it was a problem with my email (?)

We are starting a research in the uses of PocketPC's in these areas (very related with the IA System).

In fact, we have some IPAQ wireless connected to our LAN and we can view/modify the IA displays using the feeware VNC.
Also, we can start telnet or FTP sessions from the small screen of this PPC.
We think that these PPC are very interesting to check the hardware: field enclosures, etc. It's possible to carry it to test the signals with a remote DM in the VNC.

Also, it's possible to use it like a walkie-talkie with Microsoft Portrait sofware.

Anyone has some experience using these PDA's on this or related subjects?

Thanks

I think that there is another option: freeware VNC. It works on UNIX and in WIndows (also in PocketPC's).

 Hi List,
 I have a I/A system consisting of Micro I/A's, AW70's and WP70's.
How can I get process displays (for read only purpose)to desktop PC's? I see
hummingbird exceed mentioned in some notes. Is that the only option? How
much should I expect to spend for the necessary software?
Thanks.

 Pedro,
You can bring up the x windows tools on your PC just like you do on any
other workstation, you just have to tell the host where to launch them
using setenv DISPLAY pcname:0.0 (where pcname is the name of your pc
workstation) in the script first. See the xtools script at:

to open the X Windows Manager to have access to the menus

((I think that it's possible ussing /usr/fox/wp/bin/olwm etc... but I
don't know to write the good script))

Solaris version

2000-03-20 Thread pharizna

I'd like to install an Apache web server in our AW51b (spare). We have the
IA version 4.3 but I don't know what's the Solaris version...

It's a very easy question: How can I know this data?

Thank you.
