FVWM: Resizing windows accross page borders, behaviour changed?
Hello, I used to be able to move pages whie dragging a window to a differnet page by passing the page's edge, but when resizing a window the page edge blocked further movement. Now, starting from 2.5.20 I noticed that suddenly when resizing a window it'll go over the border of the page, setting EdgeResistance doesn't provide a solution as it allows me to drag windows to the another page, but it no longer automatically switches pages while dragging. Minimum config required to reproduce: EdgeScroll 0 0 Then resize a window over the border of the page to see the behaviour I described above. Is this an unintended side effect of a change that has happened recently? In any case I'd like to have the old behaviour back. Thomas already provided me a patch that restores the previous behaviour and, which I'm sure, he'll be happy to share, but I'd like official word on this. Greetings -- Bert Geens

You can see my results here: http://arvin.schnell-web.net/linux/kdm-fvwm.html Maybe you want to include this in your examples distributed with FVWM or in your FAQ. This looks like an excellent topic for the FvwmWiki (currently available via: http://fvwmwiki.bu-web.de, since fvwmwiki.org is still unreachable), I suggest you add it there as I'm sure quite some people would find this interesting while I on the other hand don't feel it belongs in the main FVWM FAQ. Re: FVWM: focus problem with netbeans

I have to first click in the editor window to get focus, whereas with all other windows, as I move the mouse pointer over them they immediately receive focus. Interestingly enough, if I move the mouse out of the netbeans window and in again, it loses focus and fails to regain it, except for sometimes, when it *does* regain focus, as it should. My only focus settings are : Style * MouseFocus, GrabFocus Are there any other options I could try to get around this, or is this more likely a java problem? I don't think it's a Java problem as I don't experience it and am using Netbeans 5.0 Beta2, I'm using SloppyFocus though, like this: Style * SloppyFocus Style * ClickToFocusRaises Style * GrabFocusOff I hope this helps -- Bert Geens
Re: FVWM: Fvwm forum replacing the mailing list

Oh, but they do, in the top right corner of a post you'll see a quote button, and it even places your cursor below the post you want to quote, something various MUAs and Newreaders don't do! ;-) Regarding the idea of a mailinglist gateway to the forum (or from the forum, it's just how you look at it) it has been suggested before and it is indeed possible, I've just not had the time to look into it, this semester has been excessively heavy but I should have more time soon so I can play with it on a testserver to see how it turns out. -- Bert Geens
