[FW-1] Policy (QOS) install error after a R65 Windows /R70 migration
Hi, After setting up a fresh R70 SPLAT and then importing the current configuration file of a production Windows 2003 /R65 i was able to login to the smartdashboard with my laptop only after giving the command fw unload local at the R70 SPLAT. After that i logined saw the rules i have expected (which comes from the R65 config file) then i tried to install the policy for test purposes (without changing /adding any rule or object) i got ok at the security policy but got the below error at the qos policy . So how can i fix this? Will all be ok after that? Regards Error A network interface name does not match the name assigned to the interface by the operating system. (ie what you get with an ifconfig -a). if you have any vlan interface, the smartdashboard name can't match, as the : symbol cannot be used in an interface name on smartdashboard. Re: [FW-1] Policy (QOS) install error after a R65 Windows /R70 migration
You need to update your topology to reflect the current interface names. They will have changed when migrating from Windows to SPLAT. Don't modify the /etc/modprobe.conf file -- that's associating the interfaces (eth0, eth1, etc) with the NIC driver (tg3, e1000, etc). Easiest thing would simply be to press the get... interfaces with topology button. That should repopulate what's out there properly. You may still need to do some minor editing, but you should otherwise be good to go.
