Re: [Audyssey] Bingo

2009-02-22 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Glenna,

To tell you the truth I am not sure if the bingo game is a dos or windows game,
but it does not have an install. So all you need to do is to make a folder and
unzip the bingo.zip file into it and run the bingo.exe game. I was able to
read the screen and click on the options just fine with my 4.02 version of Jaws.

Re: [Audyssey] Bingo

2009-02-22 Thread Phil Vlasak

Hi Folks,
I got the bingo game to work in vista.
It is designed for the sighted and puts a new bingo card on the screen that
you could print out or Braille but you can not play it, so for the blind it
is a bingo caller that you use with your purchased or created Braille bingo
cards.

I rand the game and when it says new ball, I used Jaws insert s to switch to
full from highlighted mode.

then each time I hit the enter key it spoke the new ball number as in,
New ball b3.
Once I was done I switched back to highlighted mode and arrowed to the quit
button.

A script would make the game easier to play.

Re: [Audyssey] stuck in vip mud

2009-02-22 Thread Andy
Hi,

Actually, this has nothing to do with a firewall or Telnet.

The Quick Connect dialog, when you tab around, has port settings and
other options. For example, there is a MUD selection list box. Let's
say I wanted Valhalla. I'd find it in that list box and tab. Basically
just tab until you hit Connect. It's a really strange issue, but it
works for me.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Audyssey] idea for a new game.

 hey all.
hmm, in these last hours i was without anything good to do, so i'm
thinking in a idea for a new game.
i imagine this whouldn't take many time to develope, but i'm not even a
amateur in programing, so have no idea.
my idea for the game is the following:
a fighting game, but not a normal fighting game like the main stream
ones, for example mortal combat, tekken, etc...
i'd like to see something like:
for a short game, it could have random things wen loading, for example
the size of the place. for example a street. the game could have lets
say 5 chars to choose (if the time permits even do more) and one stage,
that change everytime you start a game with the random things.
so, the street could have cars pasting around, so if you don't take
care, they can hit you, trash cans, pipes, that you could take to hit
your enemy, walls, and some more things that could hurt your enemy.
or that hitting a good combo of punchs and kicks you could cause he to
go and be hurt in certain places, depending in his location.
then, each char could have two types of punchs, the high and low punch,
and the two types of kick, high and low tow.
and with the combinations of buttons you could create a combo, and a key
for taking / throwing objects at your enemy.
and another key for a special, that could be for example, punching and
 kicking your
enemy many times until he is in the ground, then you could press this
key to get his head and start
crashing it in the ground, or a wall...
but, the streets could be a normal street, not extremely big, but not
something small where you move some steps and awreade find your enemyes.
hmm, what do you guys think of the idea? did you think that it worth
trying create a game like this?
personaly i'd love to see a fighting game in this style...
there was danger city, but hmm, well, it was a side scroller, i whould
really prefer something with free movement.
and it whouldn't get tow boring, well, it whould just have one option,
the fight against the computer, so you choose a char, and they random
chooses another, then you can set in the setting the difficulty of the
game, and with the stages random, it can give much replayability...
but if someone is really interested in doing a good game, then it can
generate some chars to you fight against, and then a boss, than can
 depends tow, could be random.
but the first one is much more simple to do than this one i think.
well, so what do you all think?
anyone in the future is interested to working on it or in a cimilar
 thing?
it maybe can even have online play, then it whould rocks..
 well its that.
 thanks and best regards.
 Matheus

Nah, you can get game roms for the dreamcast and 3do. But the dreamcast
requires a very high end processor - as does the ps2. I tried running a ps2
emulator on this hp. It loaded the bios (which was horribly choppy and
broken up and stuff), I can't even imagine playing the game itself.

Simple answer: Google.
Complicated answer: BUy a dreamcast, as the emulator for it is hard to
use - you have to be running some of the high end stuff on your computer.
Its so complicated to emulate any system starting with the 128 bit -
that's why I don't even try for anything from the dreamcast and up.
You can get a dreamcast for 40 bucks - that's cheaper than a new 360 or
ps3 game..

[Audyssey] potential programmers, was : idea fora new game

2009-02-22 Thread Che
Hmm, well if you are going to give up that easy at the first challenge you
meet, programming probably isn't for you anyway there Oreo my friend.
Programming is very rewarding, but it can also be very frustrating, and
often you find yourself running to stand still. Set goals for yourself,
then take them down one at a time.
Your first goal should be to research the accessibility of vb .net. The
IDE is very accessible, especially with the right scripts.
You can develop a very professional audio game with vb .net, and you can
teach yourself to do it as well, with basically no out of pocket expense.
But like I said, if your attitude tends toward that of this is hard, so I
quit then there is really no need to start.
Lots of people talk on this and other lists about game ideas and they are
going to program this or that, but very few do it. which is very
unfortunate, as we could certainly do with more enthusiastic game developers
out there that can actually produce something worthwhile.
The tools are out there for you guys to take advantage of. I bet a lot of
you have plenty of extra time you could spend learning to program these
games, and at the same time you are actually learning a skill that might get
you a job one day.
It can be done, just ask the guy that runs Blind adrenaline Simulations.

Good idea, I should do that too. I've tried many times, but never find

 on

As to your idea, if you have a good game idea and plenty of free time,
 why
not do what I did and teach yourself to program, then make the game
 yourself?
You won't get rich at it, but you could generate a bit of money, and
 teach

 hey all.
hmm, in these last hours i was without anything good to do, so i'm
thinking in a idea for a new game.
i imagine this whouldn't take many time to develope, but i'm not even a
amateur in programing, so have no idea.
my idea for the game is the following:
a fighting game, but not a normal fighting game like the main stream
ones, for example mortal combat, tekken, etc...
i'd like to see something like:
for a short game, it could have random things wen loading, for example
the size of the place. for example a street. the game could have lets
say 5 chars to choose (if the time permits even do more) and one stage,
that change everytime you start a game with the random things.
so, the street could have cars pasting around, so if you don't take
care, they can hit you, trash cans, pipes, that you could take to hit
your enemy, walls, and some more things that could hurt your enemy.
or that hitting a good combo of punchs and kicks you could cause he to
go and be hurt in certain places, depending in his location.
then, each char could have two types of punchs, the high and low punch,
and the two types of kick, high and low tow.
and with the combinations of buttons you could create a combo, and a key
for taking / throwing objects at your enemy.
and another key for a special, that could be for example, punching and
 kicking your
enemy many times until he is in the ground, then you could press this
key to get his head and start
crashing it in the ground, or a wall...
but, the streets could be a normal street, not extremely big, but not
something small where you move some steps and awreade find your enemyes.
hmm, what do you guys think of the idea? did you think that it worth
trying create a game like this?
personaly i'd love to see a fighting game in this style...
there was danger city, but hmm, well, it was a side scroller, i whould
really prefer something with free movement.
and it whouldn't get tow boring, well, it whould just have one option,
the fight against the computer, so you choose a char, and they random
chooses another, then you can set in the setting the difficulty of the
game, and with the stages random, it can give much replayability...
 but if someone is

sit down and figure out how to use them, and hiding a few child windows
certainly helps, but I successfully use Visual C++, Visual C#, and
Visual Basic 2008 on a daily basis without too many screen reader
hangups. So right there are three programming languages I listed with
three accessible IDEs and compilers.

Smile.

  Later,
che

Hi,
I don't know about the complicated part, but ComAudio is pretty much
