in case anyone is interested in checking the new improved windows metrics,
I'd prepared a zip with binaries in :

  http://www.sajinet.com.pe/ganglia/ganglia-3.1.0-bin.zip

to deploy just unzip in "c:\progra~1" and get into the ganglia directory
that will be created where you can execute gmond.bat once adjusted the
provided gmond.conf for your environment.

for simplicity, also added there the needed cygwin libraries so it can
be run standalone (without having to install cygwin itself) but if you are
going to use it on your own cygwin deployment (which is the recommended
setup) copy the "exe" files, or even better, build your own binaries.

binaries were built in a 32bit version of Windows Vista Home, but should
work for other versions (including 64bit versions, running as a 32bit
application) and at least did in a Windows 2000 advanced server I could
get a hold of.

for convenience, there is also the last version of the info-zip unzip
installer in case you have no other way to unzip files in :

  http://tapir.sajinet.com.pe/ganglia/unz552xN.exe

and of course all files had been scanned against known viruses (at least the
ones that can be found with an updated version of clamav) but are provided
AS-IS without any warranties.

remember for this testing that mixing 3.0 and 3.1 nodes in the same cluster
is not supported, but you can use your 3.0 gmetad with this 3.1 version of
gmond as far as you keep this staging nodes in a different cluster and
reporting to a different gmond collector than your 3.0 gmond nodes.
