REVIEW

Crackling and popping like a mouthful of the juiciest bubble gum
you'll ever chew, Casper Andreas's (Slutty Summer) second film is a
gay romantic comedy that's as sweet as they come. Wittily co-written
by star Jesse Archer (who also starred in Andreas' first film), A Four
Letter Word is the perfect break from the all the serious films we
sell!

Luke (Archer) is a gay cliché: flitting from job to job with no
thought of tomorrow, he cruises the bars looking for the perfect
mate...for the night. On a typical morning, he wakes up in a tangle of
bodies and heads to his job at a Chelsea shop specializing in sex toys
and rainbow paraphernalia. At work he is endlessly lectured about gay
civil rights by his co-worker Zeke (Cory Grant), a cutie with loftier
goals than selling dildos. (Zeke is a centered man with goals:
during his downtime he attends a yummy nude yoga class.) Luke's life
of one-night stands finally looks like it might come to an end when he
meets sultry beauty Stephen (Charlie David, star of Dante's Cove).
Smitten with his new love, Luke is convinced by him to attend meetings
for the sexually compulsive and take his life more seriously. But
Luke's world falls apart when he discovers that Stephen has completely
misrepresented himself. Does Luke re-enter the party boy world whose
fabulous colors tend to fade by morning, or is it time for him to open
his heart and mind to new possibilities?

g_b File - E mail problems?

2010-03-01 Thread gay_bombay

Hi

Have you stopped getting emails from this group suddenly? It is highly unlikely
that your name has been deleted from the list. We do not delete anybody’s
membership until and unless the person repeatedly spams or sends
pornographic/crude emails

you might not be getting your mails is because your email is on the bouncing
list. Some members have trouble with bouncing e-mails: Messages that are sent
out by the group cannot be delivered to their mailboxes and are sent back to
Yahoo. This can happen for various reasons, for example, when their mailboxes
are full, or their e-mail addresses have become obsolete, etc. Yahoo doesn't
tolerate bouncing mails and will deactivate these persons' memberships. It
will, however, send you a reactivation request. All you have to do is reply
to that (once you've fixed the problem with your mailbox), and Yahoo will
resume sending you the messages. We will also send out these requests daily.

Bounced Messages
If you subscribe to a Yahoo Groups discussion group under one of the e-mail
options (normal or digest), Yahoo Groups will suspend sending mail to you
after repeated attempts bounce back. To see your recent bounced messages,
view your Yahoo Groups preferences at http://groups.yahoo.com/myprefs and
click Bounce history for your e-mail address. For more information on
bounced-message handling by Yahoo Groups, search Yahoo Groups help for the word
bounce.

Why does it say my account is bouncing?
If group messages sent to your email address are returned to Yahoo! Groups as
undeliverable (bouncing), your Yahoo! Groups account may be temporarily
disabled.
Messages can be returned for several reasons:
• Your mailbox may be full -- try deleting messages from your Inbox.
• Your ISP may have a backlog of email to process -- contact your ISP.
• Your ISP may be blocking email from Yahoo! Groups -- contact your ISP.
In many cases, Yahoo! Groups can automatically reactivate your account once the
delivery problem is solved. However, in some cases you will need to manually
reactivate your account:
1. Visit your My Groups page.
2. Look for a bounce alert near the top of the page.
3. Click the Alert link to reactivate your account.

2010-03-01 Thread gay_bombay

Hi All

2 personal advertisements seeking mates a month are allowed on the list. It’s
unfair to others if you post your advertisement every few days. In the past,
many have complained that they see too many personal advertisements on the
list. So a restriction of 2 personal advertisements per month has been imposed.
You may, if you wish, place your advertisement in the classified section at
www.gaybombay.info as well.

In case you want to reply to a member’s personal advertisement, kindly click on
the person’s email address. This will ensure that your reply goes to the
concerned person and not to entire list which is what happens when you hit the
reply button. So please reply directly to the advertiser and not to the whole
group in case your reply is personal.

Tired of too many emails from this group?

Hi All

I know that this group has been generating too many emails. Many
subscribers are flustered at the number of mails. Some of you might
be thinking of leaving the group because you do not like your mail
box to be clogged with mails.

But just in case you do not know, you have the option of receiving
all your emails in a digest mode or you can opt for no email mode.

That way, you can see what's new on the website and still keep a
clear mailbox. You will never receive mail from us if you do that.
YOU choose when to visit us ... and you can check out what you like
and can skip over what doesn't interest you.

(Or choose Daily digest ... once or twice a day, you will receive
an email -- text only -- listing all new postings ... just click on
the messages link at the top of the digest to go to the web
archive to see any attachments.)

How ?

Depending on what you opt for, you can send mail to:

Digest Mode:- gay_bombay-dig...@yahoogroups.com

No Mail Mode:- gay_bombay-nom...@yahoogroups.com

Hi.

I am sure you are enjoying reading the thought provoking, at times
funny, at times informative mails and also seeing the JPGs/pictures
that members post on this list

However, at times you may get a lot of mail and it may flood your
email box.

If you feel flustered and feel that there are too many emails, I'd
like to remind you that you don't have to leave just to stop us from
clogging your inbox.

You have the option of

1) getting your mails in digest form (however you will not be able
to see the pictures in this format)
Daily digest ... once or twice a day, you will receive an
email -- text only -- listing all new postings ... just click on the

Dear Nish,
Every one's life is different, and every one's parents are different
charecters. If you had decided that your parents are people to whom you could
safely come out to, then that was the right decision for you. Do not give that
part of the issue another thought, irrespective of what your best friend says.
In any event, ultimately an honest life where nothing is hidden and where you
are being truthful to yourself and to others is the best life, irrespective of
the difficulties, sacrifices, and pain this involves. For if you are truthful,
then firstly you are not causing hurt to another by deception, and secondly
then no one can sneak up on you with unpleasant surprises. Others may target
you with prejudice when you are out, but that is their folly, not yours. You
will have preserved your own dignity as a human being in your own eyes, and
that will let you live life with your head held high.

You may have noticed on this list recently two people being discussed, namely a
person called Prashant and Profesor Siras of AMU. I am mentioning them because
they can be illustrative of how your life may turn out if you do not stick to
your commendable decision to not get married to a woman.

Prashant, as per the story he has told about himself, is married, due to social
pressures most likely similar to the way your mom is now putting presssure on
you. And what is Prashant like today? He is a bitter, disillusioned, hateful,
prejudiced, and confused person. More than one person has advised him to seek
help from a competent psychiatrist. By his own admission, his married life is
not one of blissful companionship but of bitterness and anger and pain all
around. And his bitterness has affected him to an extend where he cannot even
see the fact that the very community he claims to support and sacrifice his
life for, namely LGBT, is severely hurt by his public ravings and rantings, to
an extent where he may even jeopardise the most important fight the community

Court may give sentences in Pushkin murder case Tuesday

  _

IANS Monday 1st March, 2010

A Delhi court is likely to pronounce Tuesday the quantum of sentence against
two persons convicted of killing a gay man and his friend in 2004.

Pushkin Chandra, 38, an employee with the United Nations Development
Programme and son of a retired IAS officer, was found dead along with his
friend Kuldip, at his own residence in Anand Lok, Delhi, on the night of Aug
13, 2004.

Additional Sessions Judge A.K. Kuhar Friday held Rajesh Rekhwar and Moti
guilty of the double murder (section 302) and theft in Chandra's house
(Section 380). However, it acquitted for lack of proof two others, Munna and
Jai Kishore, who were accused of being involved in 'destruction of evidence'
and 'keeping the stolen property'.

While convicting Rekhwar and Moti, the court relied on witness Hare Ram, the
domestic help of Chandra's father. Ram had identified both the accused as
the persons last seen with Chandra and Kuldeep.

According to the prosecution, Ram was the first to discover the bodies and
the last to have seen the victims alive. He was one of the 37 prosecution
witnesses who deposed before the court.

'Chandra's belongings, including a DVD player, that were recovered by the
police from Rekhwar's house also formed the basis of his conviction. The
prosecution had also produced photographs clicked at an ATM in which Rekhwar
was seen withdrawing cash using Chandra's ATM cards,' the chargesheet read.

Rekhwar in his disclosure statement claimed that Chandra used to pick them
up from Connaught Place in order to have sex with them. Pornographic tapes
of men engaged in same-sex activity were recovered from the murder scene.
Pushkin's car and several other belongings were missing.

jeopardise the most important fight the community is involved with, the 377
battle in the Supreme Court. I want you to think if you would want that to
be your life 2 decades from now.

Professor Siras was a closetted homosexual and the closest he came to being
out was via writing oblique and tangential poetry, where pining for the moon
was supposed to be understood as a desire by the poet for another man. When
I read one of his poems in translation, I read 'moon' not 'man'. And I read
nothing about him being out. But obviously, like life, truth always catches
up with you. So he was subjected to a sting operation by AMU and suspended.
Both his suspension and the sting are violations of his rights. They are
deplorable acts and need to be condemned. But just think, could the AMU have
done such a thing if Professor Siras had actually written 'man' instead of
'moon'? Could the so called scandal have been a scandal in reality if there
had been nothing to hide? I think not. The naked man cannot be shamed.
Disrobing to dishonour can happen only when one is robed and therefore have
some things to hide. Blackmail can happen, only when someone can hold the
threat of disclosing a secret over your head. So ultimately, coming out and
being honest to yourself is probably one of the best decisions that you have
taken. You are because of this truthfulness a much stronger individual, much
less prone to hurt and injury.

And finally, if your mom's pressure continues unabaited, and if at any

The Butch Factor (2010) DVDRip XviD

What does mean to be Gay and be a man?
There's no straight answer for sure.

It's a challenging undertaking to examine the butch factor as it relates to
gay men, and the filmmakers have done an OK job. They interview all kinds of
gay men: guys who play football, rugby, guys involved in rodeo, and other
stereotypical masculine pursuits. This is balanced somewhat by interviews with
feminine men. Also included are interviews with sociologists and others who
study masculinity and gay culture.

A small-town loner's fascination with the new kid in town leads him into
something much more sinister than he could ever have imagined.

*Lucky Blue* (28 min)

This is the story of a boy who, in spite of his insecurities and fears,
finally finds the courage to express his love in his own special way.

*Thirteen or So Minutes* (13 min)

Lawrence and Hugh have just met. They both have girlfriends...they're both
straight. Thirteen or so minutes later, however, something's happened and
things have changed.

I strongly protest and dispute this

*We must remember and understand that we gays and people from the

I do not agree wiht this generalisation. We are what we think we are. If I
feel/believe that I am squeamish lacking strenght and courage maybe I am all
of the above what Saurav akka Rohini says. This is sheer generalisation.
Strenght courage is not gender specific.

Look at Aditya, he will know that someone or the other will pounce on him
but he does say things and none of what he says is wrong or incorrect. Maybe
he is blunt and too precise but as he is courageous enough to do so anyway,
should we say that as per Sauravs definition that Aditya is a straight in
 the closet? Humbug Bladderdash. . . ..:p

  Hi Aditya,

Have been following your posts for sometime and feel strongly that by
discussing Prashant who is in Delhi and a member of this forum we are
unnecessarily getting into an individual's personal life. Maybe after
reading what you have posted below he may be psychologically traumatized.

We must remember and understand that we gays and people from the so-called
3rd sex are psychologically not as strong as the male species per se!! :) We
'guys' are of the sensitive type. Hope you will control your emotional
outbursts. I am not saying however that you are wrong.

All I am saying is let's not discuss individuals.

 Best wishes.

  Dear Nish,
Every one's life is different, and every one's parents are different
charecters. If you had decided that your parents are people to whom you
could safely come out to, then that was the right decision for you. Do not
give that part of the issue another thought, irrespective of what your best
friend says. In any event, ultimately an honest life where nothing is hidden
and where you are being truthful to yourself and to others is the best life,
irrespective of the difficulties, sacrifices, and pain this involves. For if
you are truthful, then firstly you are not causing hurt to another by
deception, and secondly then no one can sneak up on you with unpleasant
surprises. Others may target you with prejudice when you are out, but that
is their folly, not yours. You will have preserved your own dignity as a
human being in your own eyes, and that will let you live life with your head
 held high.

You may have noticed on this list recently two people being discussed,
namely a person called Prashant and Profesor Siras of AMU. I am mentioning
them because they can be illustrative of how your life may turn out if you
do not stick to your commendable decision to not get married to a woman.

Prashant, as per the story he has told about himself, is married, due to
social pressures most likely similar to the way your mom is now putting
presssure on you. And what is Prashant like today? He is a bitter,
disillusioned, hateful, prejudiced, and confused person. More than one
person has advised him to seek help from a competent psychiatrist. By his
own admission, his married life is not one of blissful companionship but of
bitterness and anger and pain all around. And his bitterness has affected
him to an extend where he cannot even see the fact that the very community
 he claims to support and

Hello,

I am glad to get responses. Sorry for late reply. I was busy with
watching all those lovely movies at bangalore Queer Film Festival and
then travelling to my parents place.

@ Aditya,
Thanks a lot for reply. It really helped me to see things from another
angle. Whatever you have written, I know all these things but somtimes
one needs someone else to tell those. You know, I was expecting replies
at least from you, Vikram (vg...@yahoo mailto:vg...@yahoo ) Nitin
and I am glad that you managed to reply me. :)

@ Vikram,
Your reply was amazing. You really made me to think and start planning
for my A B and C plans. You are right about talking to my mom again,
with the preparation to show her how much thought I have given to all
these. At the end, she wants to see me happy. Thats all. If I can
convience her that I am gonna have a peaceful future and I have my plans
to face any troubles then she will actually support me. (Again, it's
just a hope)

Hope this helps?
You bet. that really helped. Thanks

@ Manoj
Thanks a lot to you for your positive words i do believe that there is
a person for each one of us it all depends on how and where we look
and act. I met mine through GB meets.. I hope same for me. ;)

I am thanful to everyone who replied to me here or at my persoanl email
Id. It's really made me more positive toward situation.
