Hi Have you stopped getting emails from this group suddenly? It is highly unlikely that your name has been deleted from the list. We do not delete anybodys membership until and unless the person repeatedly spams or sends pornographic/crude emails you might not be getting your mails is because your email is on the bouncing list. Some members have trouble with bouncing e-mails: Messages that are sent out by the group cannot be delivered to their mailboxes and are sent back to Yahoo. This can happen for various reasons, for example, when their mailboxes are full, or their e-mail addresses have become obsolete, etc. Yahoo doesn't tolerate bouncing mails and will deactivate these persons' memberships. It will, however, send you a reactivation request. All you have to do is reply to that (once you've fixed the problem with your mailbox), and Yahoo will resume sending you the messages. We will also send out these requests daily. Bounced Messages If you subscribe to a Yahoo Groups discussion group under one of the e-mail options (normal or digest), Yahoo Groups will suspend sending mail to you after repeated attempts bounce back. To see your recent bounced messages, view your Yahoo Groups preferences at http://groups.yahoo.com/myprefs and click Bounce history for your e-mail address. For more information on bounced-message handling by Yahoo Groups, search Yahoo Groups help for the word bounce. Why does it say my account is bouncing? If group messages sent to your email address are returned to Yahoo! Groups as undeliverable (bouncing), your Yahoo! Groups account may be temporarily disabled. g_b Sadly - I AM - doesn't live up to its hype
The movie, I AM, has been over-hyped and is a disappointment. The quality of acting is high but one cannot get connected to any of the characters or the plots. The four stories seem abrupt and superficial. If these stories were meant to send a message then, I regret to say, they do a woefully inadequate job. The movie may appeal to some members of the high class intelligentsia but certainly not to the Indian masses. Another irritating aspect is the liberal mix of Kashmiri, Bangla, Marathi and English with Hindi. You tend to disconnect slightly when you are forced to read subtitles. The part about the the child abuse survivor did not do justice in bringing out the pains of a survivor. The over-hyped Rahul Bose's gay character and his run-in with the homophobic policeman is simply too inadequate to have much of an impact. And, yes, Rahul Bose has a longish lip kiss with a handsome hunk, but I wonder if I should waste two hours in a movie theater to watch that! At the end of the movie the viewer is not left with a feel good factor and that in itself will sound the death knell for the movie at the box-office. As members of the queer community we should support this movie and flock to the theaters but privately, I can't imagine how a director like Onir could make this stuff. It will, quite certainly, be a flop at the box office. Alas! yet another gay Indian movie will bite the dust. It's a ONE STAR category movie. I expect quite a lot of brickbats for my candid posting. I had a friend, George Hobensack, from New Hope, Penn. He discovered he was gay in his forties. He had a marvelous time for the remaining forty years of his life,( until he was hit and killed by a truck croosing the street in front of his Antique Shop !) According to sources the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar witnessed one of the strangest cases in recent times that has baffled the police and the judiciary alike. The story goes like this. A young man from Kashmir got closely involved with a man hailing from Germany. The two soon became very close and 'developed' homosexual relation. Over the period of time the two were 'together', the German 'beloved' gave numerous gifts to his Kashmiri lover running into lakhs of rupees. Such was the level of intimacy between the gay couple that the German wanted to marry the boy from Kashmir 'legally'. Perhaps informed that homosexuality was still a crime in India, the German then decided to do the unbelievable. Thinking that he could have a happy life with his Kashmiri boyfriend the German decided to go in for a sex change operation. The sex change operation is an extremely costly affair in European countries with average bill of over 1-2 million. The German claims that he spent around Rs.30 lacs on the surgery. Despite the costs and the risks, the German reportedly went in for the operation. The operation was successful and he came out of operation theater as a woman. Thinking that now he (she) could marry her long time boyfriend, the German boy turned girl came all the way to Kashmir, only to get the shock of her life when the boyfriend refused to marry her. Shocked and numbed by the volte face the German has decided to fight back. She hired a lawyer in Srinagar to seek justice. In the petition filed before the CJM, the German has reportedly accused the Kashmiri boy of fraud cheating and even rape. But the counsel for the Kashmiri boy argued that basic petition was flawed as the sexuality of the German is not clear. I told the judge that it was a case of two *** les. If it is front **le then the case falls under section 376 o IPC and if it is the back **le then section 377 of IPC will apply. I told the judge to decide on which lines should I based my arguments on, said advocate Bilal Ahmed. He added that since the two were having a live in relationship, charges of rape do not apply and that the German should file a civil suit instead. According to sources the police too is confused as to on what lines should they file their case report. Considering the German was a man and now is a woman, we will wait for observations of the court, a police official said.
