Hello Vikram, Firstly lemme say it was great to meet you at the Zouk party. About the drinks - I am not very clear why Aseel thinks the drinks are bad, since they are usually known brands and mixed with branded soft drinks / juices. Maybe othere folks will write in on that. But I do think we need a bigger bar - maybe two bars next time if thats possible - and bartenders who are better prepared. One got the impression this time that the management didnt expect so much of a crowd, at least at the bar. Vodka in paticular, ran out at 1 am (i wouldnt know about other drinks...) and the bartenders were quite obviously overloaded, running around and mixing up orders. Also, please correct me on this if its my ignorance of how things work, but I thought it odd that a bartender should ask me to hold on a second since he is gulping his own drink. No, I wasn't drunk and I didn't hallucinate. I pardoned him because he had a good lithe dark body and was moving it well to the music, but that's beside the point in this discussion cheers salil p.s. Hi There, You do not have to go for brands available at the the Bar Counter if you do not want it,the brands that you would want say like Smirnoff or Bacardi would definately be available. We have just had one guy abuse us on the Gaybombay list for only having parties in South Bomby and now here you are cribbing because one, repeat ONE party has been held in Andheri... can we never win? Why does having one party at Zouk mean that we're shifting to Andheri? For your information, the next party is in Juhu and the one after that is in south Bombay. We try to move the parties around to make it easy for the most number of guys, so in general its like one south Bombay, one western suburbs. To some extent our parties are dictated by the venues we find and at the moment we have just one in South Bombay (but we're working on another exciting new venue). If we haven't had a party in the eastern suburbs its simply because we've never had a place. As I've said several times on these lists, we are always looking for places and if you know anyone who might be willing to have a gay party at their disco or restaurant please let us know. Give us their name and contact number and we'll take care of the rest. Mail me directly at [EMAIL PROTECTED] on this. Again something where we get caught between those who think we're too expensive and those who think we're too cheap. Over here I'm definitely on the side of those who want the parties cheaper. There are lots of guys who find the cost of parties a bit of a strain and we would like to keep them as cheap as possible, but unfortunately costs in Bombay tend to be high, so we've been unable to prevent the entry costs creeping up past 400/-. We try and compensate by keeping the film festivals free, but it is a problem for some guys. So where possible though we try and get lower prices and in the case of Zouk we had a management that was kind enough to agree. GB exists to serve all members of the gay community, not just those who fit your notion of quality, so if you felt the party lacked that quality because of the low entry price, then please - PLEASE - don't come. OK, finally criticism we can learn from. Can you give us more specifics on this and what your suggestions would be? We try and get the places to give us standard stuff like Bacardi Breezers or the usual brand names.
