Hmm, actually it seems that reverting just that commit isn't enough -
after switching to another image background becomes black again :(

I suggest #ifdef'ing this line to apply only to GTK+-3 builds since I
assume it's needed only for them (everything worked fine in previous
version where there were no GTK+-3 or libclutter support).
