If you want to use the latest code sourcery compiler you should add EXTRA_CFLAGS=-mno-unaligned-access to you're command line when you compile the kernel and the problem should be fixed. I did following things but it didn't work out.. 1- I got the latest M5 codes from M5 repository using hg. 2- I got 2.6.37.y kernel src using git 3- I copied the config on gem5 site in a m5_defconfig file 4- I did make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-none-linux-gnueabi- m5_defconfig 5-The .config file generated 6- Then I did make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-none-linux-gnueabi- vmlinux 7- copied the vmlinux file to dist/m5/system/binary 8-run M5 in ARM_FS mode 9-same error [0.00] Unhandled fault: alignment exception (0x801) at 0xc02e9f6f [0.00] Internal error: : 801 [#1] . . theres nothing @ that address on realview board. can anybody suggest whats wrong ? i tried the stable version also . . .
