Been having trouble with mainly calibre 4.9.1-r2 and have since kept it out of any emerges. [gentoo-user] New Install
There's always this http://www.tecmint.com/gentoo-linux-installation-guide/ with side by side reference to the Gentoo handbook. So, you just type "passwd" and enter a new root password. root is your username. You can create additional users using useradd: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Handbook:AMD64/Installation/ Finalizing#Adding_a_user_for_daily_use > Also, I read that it is possible to install Gentoo from the Live DVD. > How do I do that? The same way as from the minimal CD. Just open a terminal and follow the handbook. -- Rich
