Hi,

kolourpaint allways crashes if I try to start it. When I add a new User
Profile Kolourpaint will run only one time. The Second start results in
a crash again.

The Kde Crash Manager says:

Ein schwerer Fehler ist aufgetreten
The application KolourPaint (kolourpaint) crashed and caused the signal
11 (SIGSEGV).
Please help us improve the software you use by filing a report at
http://bugs.kde.org. Useful details include how to reproduce the error,
documents that were loaded, etc.

This Version of KDE is build with the kdeprefix useflag. I really don't
understand what the Problem is, because the first run of Kolourpaint
works with no Problems.

Maybe someone of you could reproduce it. I didn't found a lot when I
used google before.

Nice Regards
Jochen

Yes I can verify that colourpaint is truly dying without leaving any
process.
Nor Top neither ps shows anything which points to kolourpaint or parts of
it.

I'm having a sort-of similar problem wwith kontact and kmail after a kernel
panic that needed a hard reset to recover from. In my case, kontact's
 display
goes away and the app ceases to function, but the process does not die.
 Under
these circumstances, a second kontact will not start.

Could you verify if Kolourpaint is truly dying and leaving nothing behind
 as
 shown by ps?

I have never run that program. I just tried it in an NX session and
not only did kolourpaint die, but it killed my entire NX session
completely and disconnected me from the remote machine!

Could you try to run kolourpaint from a xterm and log the output (maybe
with strace) into a logfile?

Is this bug about the same thing?

 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183850

This might be possible, but it completly doesn't start.
