So unset it if you don't want eds. USE flags are *optional*. GAIM can use eds if that would be somehow useful to any given user, but it doesn't have to, if you don't want it. As soon as I saw this new flag (you know it's new because it's green and it has a star), I immediately put -eds in /etc/make.conf (because I have no use for eds, so I didn't need to disable it by package.
