Hi, I am totally confused, I finally decided to do some updating but was very annoyed when I tried to start my "new" mysql (4.0.24-r2). Simply no output of the init script only some [!!]. And when I looked deeper into it there is no more mysqld_safe nor a mysqld. When I forced to switch back to 4.0.22 it suddenly "reappears". So I watched the emerge of the updated version but only some underquoted warning messages of the m4's appear...
