It happens all the time for me, and as you can see, for everyone:

*lol* Sorry, I didn't make myself clear, I was trying to say I did the
same mistake as him, only with smtp when searching for docs once.

Just do add a little, I like to visit http://gentoo-wiki.com/ for docs
too. The best of the Linux community is that we can always get help
from other users.

[gentoo-user] Search gentoo documentation

2005-06-08 Thread Anthony E. Caudel
Is there any way to search the Gentoo docs?

I have tried google:

http://www.google.com/search?as_q=vixie-cron+ssmpt
+mailbasenum=10hl=enbtnG=Google
+Searchas_epq=as_oq=as_eq=lr=lang_enas_ft=ias_filetype=as_qdr=allas_occt=anyas_dt=ias_sitesearch=www.gentoo.org%2Fdocsafe=images

(search www.gentoo.org/doc, in english, for the terms vixie-cron,
mailbase, ssmtp)

but it returned no pages.

I guess vixie-cron is in fact a cron program modified by this guy
named Vixie :) check out:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Vixie

The best way to get docs about a command is the man pages, in your
case, man cron and man crontab.

I usually find all the information I need at forums.gentoo.org (its
like having a great book with the knowledge of thousands of
experienced gentoo users available).
