Does scanimage -L find it as root?

 No, it doesn't.
But I know it should work, because it had worked on a linux machine some
month
ago, but I forgot how to set it up.

Now it works. I unmerged everything related to sane, then reemerged them, and
now it works. Strange but true...

[gentoo-user] can't use usb scanner

2006-05-25 Thread Stefán István
Hello!
I have a Canon usb scanner and I have problem using it with xsane.
The sane-find-scanner finds it:
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a9 [Canon], product=0x220e [CanoScan],
chip=LM9832/3) at libusb:003:004

But scainmage -L doesn't find it.

I don't know what to do next.
If I just simply start xsane, it says that no devices available. I think I
have to specify the device name of the scanner, but I don't know what it's
name.

Thanks for the help in advance,
Istvan
