I installed gnome 2.12.1. I am running xfce4 on display :0 . I tried to start gnome session on :1 via: startx /usr/bin/gnome-session -- :1 , however it bails with "gnome-session: you're already running a session manager". Any ideas? I am not running another gnome session.
