The version in the vmware overlay should include the fix, which is to remove /opt/vmware/server/console/lib/lib/libgcc_s.so.1/libgcc_s.so.1. It seems to be causing the issues and doesn't appear to be vital (in fact, using the system provided one is generally a better idea). We'll try and get this into the tree as soon as we can.
