And what I got may possibly be all of that, but I cannot see it, as the display is just blank. I can switch back to a text console, so the keyboard is working. And I see no apparent error messages in the X log file. I attached another monitor, it is also blank. I hear it clicking as it does when it switches the resolution. And its information display shows the correct resolution. Happens with fglrx, radeonhd, radeon, vesa. In case an anyone likes to have a look, here are Xorg log and xorg.conf. I'm not really sure what to do now.
