Yea, I'm doing a install on another drive. I mounted it at /mnt/gentoo. It makes copy and paste easier. :D I'm trying to get a clean start. This is a three year old install and I have learned a lot. Still have a lng way to go though. Care to help me a bit more? LOL I also always add the -v to rm. I like to see it do it, especially the second time around. I even went to the freedesktop site and downloaded it myself and it still does the same thing. I also deleted the directory x11-misc/util-macros and then synced again. Same thing. Any more ideas?? Thanks for the reply though. I tried so many things that I forgot that one. May have forgot some more too. Dale :-) :-) -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list

Hmm, I've seen konqueror uncompress things on download without removing the .bz2/.gz extension. Maybe this is what happened to you -Richard I downloaded it with Seamonkey though. I saved it to my Desktop then used Konqueror are root to copy it over. It won't let a lowly user named dale do it. ;-) Whatever I did, I was consistent about it.
