Not really, but go to Edit-Preferences-Window Management and set the
'Window Management hints' to Normal window.

That at least put a minimise button on the toolbox dialog of my Gnome
based Ubuntu that allowed it to be minimised.

Hi

Maybe you have reassigned the keys? Look in Edit - Keyboard Shortcuts.
You should also see the current keyboard shortcut next to the menu item
under in the Edit menu.

[Gimp-user] is there a way to change default brush spacing?

2009-01-04 Thread Dave
I'm reviewing Gimp 2.6.4 and this is the first in a long list of stupid
questions I'll be asking. Since pixmap brushes can't be edited and their
spacing isn't stored across relaunches, can you edit the default spacing of
brushes? 25 is wy too big and I'm getting bad stepping with my
imported PS brushes.

PS brushes != pixmap brushes. (I can edit pixmap brushes myself, just fine.)

I believe it is currently assumed that the user will re-save a brush
with adjusted spacing if this is important
This is debatable IMO. In this situation I think making an ABR
load/save plugin from the current code in the core is the right way to
address this.

[Gimp-user] Animation VCR-style buttons for GIMP

2009-01-04 Thread Robert Slater
Hello,

First I would like to say that I am new to 'the GIMP' and I really
like this tool. Thanks to all who have helped develop and maintain
this tool. Very cool!

I am trying to create some teaching aids using GIMP animation. I have
a few GIMP animations working so far. All of the animations run in a
loop without stopping. I would like the user to be able to control
the frames using VCR-style buttons (PLAY, PAUSE, REWIND, STEP-by-STEP)
within my animated script. Something similar to Filters-Animation-
Playback would be great. Is there something I can add to my animations
that would support the VCR-style buttons?

Also, I would like to post these GIMP animations on a web page. Is
there anyway to allow the user to see the animation without being able
to download the file? Right now, the user can right-click on the link
and download the GIF file to their computer. Can I stop this from
happening?

Thanks for the help.
