Gimp 1.1.25 and scanner

2000-09-12 Thread Matthew Colton

Hi,
I've just upgraded from 1.1.24 to 1.1.25. Everything compiled well, but now I
can't scan directly into Gimp anymore. If I link xscanimage to my
.gimp-1.1/plug-ins directory, the Gimp freezes while checking the plug-ins on
start up. No error messages, no nothing, just freezes. This is wierd, since
xscanimage itself still works fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Client for script-fu-server?

2000-09-12 Thread dale.mellor

It's a simple question but I can't find any doc on it anywhere - how
do I interact with a script-fu-server?

MNG

2000-09-12 Thread Joachim Ansorg

Hi!

Is there a plugin to read and save MNG and JNG images in GIMP?
Since Konqueror can use them now I'm eager to create some.

First I've heard anyone refer to png as ping, I've always referred to it
as P-N-G...

Well, I wouldn't say you're an idiot. Maybe the link will fix my
problem. I'll let you know. Thanks.

I've rarely hear anyone say 'P N G', most everyone I know says
'ping'. Weird. :-)

hmmm, nothing like computer jargon to overload terms, 'ping' has been a
unix utility for as long as I can remember.

ping - send ICMP ECHO_REQUEST packets to network hosts

JNG: JPEG Network Graphics

I'm not sure if there is one. A quick Google search gives references to
people talking about the idea of MNG in Gimp but no code.

Maybe it's a locality/geographical thing?
