GIMP 2.0 is a major new release with exciting features. I want to do a valuable and exciting presentation on the topic -- but only if there is interest. If someone else wants to do a different topic, my feelings will not be hurt at all. That's why I am polling. I'm leaving today to go to VA for a week's vacation so I need feedback quickly. I've just been using The Gimp for the first time in the past couple of weeks, and I'd be eager. (As I read your original post I didn't perceive that it was asking for RSVP.) I'll be there. -Bill ___ gnhlug-discuss mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-discuss

One of the perpetual problems with GNHLUG (and I'm just as guilty as anybody, so I'm not trying to lay blame, here) is that we *do not give people enough time*. We don't announce meetings early enough in advance. The two week advance notice that this meeting is getting is quite generous for us, and even that isn't really anywhere near enough time. Many people need a month or more to plan their busy schedules. We also don't give others enough time to process things, either. For example, I'm real busy at work right now, so I can't always find time during the week to read this list. I'm certain I'm not alone here. Yet this isn't the first time someone has been nonplussed by a less-then-instantaneous response. Unfortunately, I don't have any easy solution to this problem. We would do well to at least recognize it, though. -- Ben Scott [EMAIL PROTECTED] | The opinions expressed in this message are those of the author and do | | not represent the views or policy of any other person or organization. | | All information is provided without warranty of any kind. | ___ gnhlug-discuss mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-discuss
