Sporting Goa’s Victorino was handed his first start of the season and rewarded the fans with the first hat-trick of the Goa Pro League, with three well executed goals which took his tally for the season to five and puts him on top of the scorer’s charts. The match took a sour note in the closing stages when the Sporting Goa Coach Oscar Bruzon was told to exit the bench by the referee after taking his protest too far with the fourth official, regarding on offside decision. Sporting Goa raced into the lead after just four minutes when Victorino wonderfully controlled a long threw ball from Rahul Kumar, before lifting the ball over the defenders head and burying it into the bottom corner. Eight minutes later a bouncing ball from Rahul was again collected by Victorino and this time he lobbed the ball over the outrushing goalkeeper’s head. As the game progressed, Sporting Goa continued to grow in confidence and Beevan D’Mello sent in a delicious pass for Victorino who managed to give two rampaging Calangute defenders the slip and nail the ball into the back of the net. Late on, Victorino received a nice reception from the large crowd as he left the field to be replaced by substitute Boima Jerry Karpeh. As far as we know, only a few stray internet characters, all of whom are foreign citizens with an anti-India mindset are ranting about this. I doubt anybody in Goa takes them seriously. I know of Chrystal Gomes, of Toronto and Tanzania who did not let MS define herself. She was aired on a few national programs of various broadcasters and performed at several Goan and other functions in this city. She might not have the reputation of Russell Peters but would have been, while still active, at the stage where RS was 5 years before he achieved fame in the USA. Always for a person is indicated its place of birth when he/she isborn in that particular country for such decisions.Now let us take for example a particular case where a mother gives abirth to a child in the mid air or sea, say in international Lat/Longpositions so the person get his/her birth certificate as a special case asInternational birth certificate as that place can be called as a neutralcountry. Therefore our Pe.Joseph Vaz when he is born in Goa I suppose heshould be declared as a Saint of Goa origin and not Sri Lanka.. Congrats to the 'Advance research' by Hon'Andrew... very interesting as for my research .its not going any whereI am not getting any co-operation from the Velliapura royal family which makes me think as to what could be the reason for this '...under the rabbit ears' attitude towards this issue. Many centuries earlier Velliapura site served as a Southern Capital headquarters for many Goapuri Kadamba Kings and many events recorded in history about Velliapura. After the sudden passing away of Roque Santan in Jan of 2007 while on a visit to United States of America. After his cremation in Brooklyn NY, the Urns containing his mortal remains where flown in this country of his birth, India and the land he loved, Goa by his family and laid to rest along the memorabilia of his royal ancestors as per his wish in the Velliapura royal compound, at the hands of the then Goa Chief Minister Mr. Digambar Kamat, the following December a rival group of Haliyal hereditary workers different from Upadia/Nilkant Sah combine during their visit to Velliapura cracked open the marble tabernacle and opened the Urns and managed to take away what ever they could.
