As the working of the Courts is now very restricted, to save the taxpayers
from an unnecessary financial burden all further appointment of new Judges
at all levels must be kept on hold for now as a cash strapped government
cannot afford to he hosting idling Judges.

The Judiciary is the common man?s last hope for Justice. But it has failed
to deliver in these critical days while the pandemic rages. Dispensation
of justice is an absolute essential service which has to be provided
uninterrupted.

Video-conferencing may be a good concept, but was it proper for the Courts
to have suddenly invoked it without the proper infrastructure in place. It
may not have been right to hurriedly introduce a system without proper
planning, training and effective awareness for all participants.

With already such a huge pile up of cases, the current extended limited
working of Courts is a matter of concern. The working of the Judiciary has
practically come to a grinding halt with only urgent cases being heard. As
every litigant knows the urgency in his case, there is no excuse why Courts
cannot fully function while observing the health and safety protocols.

The wheels of justice were already turning slowly before the pandemic and
should not have been allowed to grind to a halt. People expect and demand
justice in a timely and honest way. Every Court after taking all the
required precautions in the current circumstances could have heard a fixed
number of cases a day. The fountains of justice must keep flowing. Justice
delayed is Justice denied and this is impermissible. Justice must be timely
or not at all.

2012-01-08 Thread Albert Desouza

Dear Goanetters

I got enrolled with the goanetters since its inception and had no
difficulty getting regular mails. Only when Fridrick Noronha took over
the problem started and my mails stopped.I find no reason for this . Ok
if the major domo does not want me to get mails I will not grumble and I
will not complain either. This is the reason I did not attend the get
together for I felt I was not wanted. I cannot understand why people
cannot do the needful for over one and half years that I am complaining.
When we have so much technology and when I get 200 mails everyday except
this one I find no reason to check my system.

[Goanet] God and You

2011-11-24 Thread Albert Desouza

Dear Goanetters. While the Bible teaches us one thing we are given another type
of religion and hope God will save us when we go to Him. I wonder what God will
do with those who have forcebly given us alternate gods leaving the almighty
God the Father of Jesus without glory and worship. Exodus chapter 20 verse 4
clearly teaches us that God the father is the Almighty God and we cannot make
any other gods before Him. I request each and every goa netter who wishes to
read to go through this passage. Is the Roman Catholic Church believes that God
the Father is the only God and that we have no other gods before him ? If this
commandment that was given to Moses by the Almighty Lord is not observed and
respected than we may not see God at all.We might say then woe to us wished we
were not born as human beings. what is the use of our religion if we cannot
reach Heaven the place all desire to be ! Could some one tell me if Rosary is a
prayer and if statues forms a part of our religio
 n. If ours is the true religion and founded by Christ through his sacrifice
then we should do away with the statues of all kind as Lord does not like it.
Read the bible feel the power of the holy spirit and do not recite insipid
prayers. Hope the holy Spirit enlighten all those whose brains have become
coroded with paganism. albert

[Goanet] God and You

2011-10-09 Thread Albert Desouza

De.ar GoanettersGod created each one of us with his infinite love. God loves
you and me irrespective of what we are .We often use other gods to make favours
with the Almighty God our Father and think we are justified with all our
rituals .We give this excuse and that excuse for our methods that we have
adopted for our prayers and we often condem other religious believers like how
the Jews did. Our priests often critise the believers and make fun of them but
what will we use at the time of our judgement ? can we give testimony of rosary
to God and say we have this weapon of salvation ? think and let me know .

[Goanet] God and You

2011-08-13 Thread Albert Desouza

Dear Goan netters
God dwells in you and He has made your body His temple. He is the power, the
creator and love. We cannot achieve any better legacy but God's relationship
with you that makes us really divine people of God. He has given us a simple
formula to be happy in this world and in the next world too. If one does not
know what happiness is he or she will not reliquinish the taste of happiness in
the next world. Be happy in this world and be happy with what you have and not
try to possesses the same like your neighbours. The unhappiness in this world
is not God made one but man made one. Though our needs are not that many our
pride has brought us the downfall. Many build mansions without haaGod has
actually given us simple living. Just love God and just love your fellow man.
Mary the mother of Jesus whom we call Saibin Maim has just done that. While on
one side we sing loud Pau maie the other side we do not show any concern for
others .Mary was full of concern for others. While our parents are dying
hopelessly in the home for the aged we are shouting hossana in the church. Qui
bono for whose good are we doing all these ? While people are visiting Mary's
s, rines all over the globe our divorce files , police files and even court
files keep on increasing and most of the cases are one brother fighting against
the other. One human being is trying to kill other human beings and both are
created by the same Father. Today our religion is giving us just a title. Our
churches should be called church pvt ltd because going to church has no meaning
on our life . we go just to show others that we belong to that church and many
times give donations just because we want our names to re called out .Holiness
is what God has to give you . Mother Theresa just loved God through human
beings and God has made her great. No need to make her a saint she was already
one. Albert de souza

The latest report of CAG on Sheila Dixit has been very damaging for
the COngress health opShe has decided to brazen it out at all costs The
image of the congress party has taken a beating on double standards
The Congress spokespersons are bending over heels to state that it is
different matter That the CAG is not final and it has to go the
parliament and FIR can be filled later, before starting the process of
investigations This is the due process of law to be followed and the
C.M. of Delhi has no reason to step down The lokayukta of Karnataka
has indicted Yedurappa and hence the Congress was baying for his blood
The BJP obliged the congress to ward of the scathing attack by the UPA

resigned but are in jail due to filing of FIR and starting of
investigations Maran had to resign after the CBI found that there is
sufficient evidence against him The people are asking why the
investigation cannot be started against Sheila Dixitt after filing the
FIR It appears the law is not equal when it comes to the Congress
incumbents and there is a massive cover up and divergence of views
expressed laboriously and evasively by congress functionaries
Not only on moral grounds but massive evidence by the CAG must make
Sheila Dixit put in the papers ,otherwise it will provide the fodder

scoring brownie points by installing the functioning of the Parliament

representing ,when they accepted the Rs80,000 increase in their tax
free emoluments ,besides other mind boggling perks and pensions ?Is
such increase justified according to the standard of living of people
they represent ? It is all hypocrisy and deceit in the name of aam
admi,, which is a cliche of convenience to fool the people with this
propagated myth Congress and BJP are both guilty of corruption during
the period of their governance and Indians at large have little to
gain by these bullfights in the political arena Indians are passive
 spectators to these sordid dramas
Thanks to the media, which increasingly is highlighting the massive

cleverly sidelined his efforts by the supremacy of Parliament

My elder daughter studied in English medium school and did well at the college
level. She could read and understand the concept of the chapter which was
taught to her. She stood second at the BCom examination. My second daughter
studied in Konkani medium and though she was quite smart till today she cannot
frame sentences and translates konkani into English and that becomes konklish.
She herself feels that she is a backward class of society. Manohar Parrikar is
not a king of Goa and so too Shashikala Kakodkar that they know what is best
for our children. The parents who gave birth to those children know the best
what is good for their kids. Whose is scratiching if English is taught to
the children ? We are in a democratic India where each one of us is free to do
what he wants provided that he does not tamper into the happiness of others.
Those who adore Parrikar and Kakodkar can send their children for Marathi , no
harm let my child study English does it bother anyone if my child studies in
English medium school ? Many of the leaders one time tried to convince the
hindus that Marathi is the religious language of the Hindus. All the hindus
believed it to be true. What is the outcome of this believe ? We added marathi
tai to konkani tai . Who benefited ? The Maharastrians from the border paid
huge sum and got most of the Government jobs. Today we find Goans irrespective
of their religion wiping the shoes of Maharatrians while some of the leaders
even though they were not elected managed to get ministers post through back
door.We became fools in our own land. Parrikar is not interested in Goa. His
both sons are abroad and when he makes enough money he may also jump the border
and say good bye to goans and we will be left behind to suck our own toes.

till secondary education and went on to join the country's premier

His children did their primary schooling in Marathi and are doing well in
 their fields.

He is supporting local languages for the reason that they help in building
the fundamentals of the child that helps in further education.

He is still Goa's best CM ever considering the administrative efficiency,
dedication and commitment he showed in his short-lived tenure. People brag
about communalism but conveniently ignore the good things he did such as
building infrastructure for St. Xavier's feast or IFFI. This tag of
communalism should not be applied to BJP in Goa.

Please do not ignore that there are fan clubs on Orkut and Facebook for
Parrikar, but not any other past CM and understandably none of the current
CM. The members are educated Goan youth who are not fools but people who see

I am extremely disappointed with Manohar Parrikar's association with BBSM,
for the recent Bandh on 6th June 11. I had some respect for Parrikar with
regards to his high administrative/governing capabilities, when compared to
many other tainted and extremely corrupt MLA's who are Smugglers, Pimps,
Drug Lords, Land Sharks etc. But I am shocked that he aligned with the
Shashikala's Group; who were not only known historically for being against
Goa retaining its separate identity, but also who made communal/unfair
statements. Also is the BBSM fight for Konkani or is it actually for
Marathi? Why are there over whelming more Marathi Aided Government Schools
in Goa today vs. Konkani, if Konkani is the official language of Goa? I
would have had some understanding if Manohar, BBSM, UGDP and other
hypocritical Konkani supporters were fighting for the exclusivity of
Konkani, but this does not appear to be the case!! There are issues which
are more serious in Goa today e.g. mining which is devastating Goa, Mega
Project Menace, Crime, Severe Regional Plan in-consistencies, Demand for
Special Status, Goa slowly going from the hands of Goans etc. Why can't
Manohar Parrikar and the BJP protest with the similar enthusiasm more wisely
against these more critial issues? If he did the latter then I am sure that
many Goans would have stood with him and respected him.

Re: [Goanet] How was your travel?

2011-05-25 Thread Albert Desouza

Dear Cecil
Sorry to read about your trouble while travelling. Such incidents take place
more with us goans as we are sucegad people. I had bought a IFB washing machine
two years warranty. The first year there was no problem. The warranty period
was to end on 22 nd July. There was some problem with the timer and the
mechanic was called somewhere on the 17th of July. He looked into the matter
and while I was looking the other side fixed the timer with a thread and made
it work for few days. When the warranty period was over my problems started
again and this time the mechanic told me that I had to replace the timer.I took
the matter with the consumer redressal forum and won the case. I got a new
washing machine. Mind you this case of mine was published in details in all the
leading newspapers of Goa. The company too learnt a lesson that it could not
fool all people at all times. The new washing machine has served me for more
than 10 to 12 years without a single problem and it will carry on for another
six to seven years more. Cecil you should have taken the bus operators to
consumers' forum and got your compensation .You can still do it.

On 15th May morning one Riyaz Naik of Naik Travels phoned to inform me
that the Diana Naik Travels bus I had chosen had broken down and they
were now going to accommodate me in a AC-Luxury bus. I was very happy
at this fortunate turn of events. Naik then informed me that I would
have to pay Rs. 400/- extra per seat as AC-Luxury seats cost Rs.
1,200/- each. I explained to Naik that I did not have such a budget
and would be quite happy to be accommodated in a non-AC non-Luxury bus
and I didn't intend to pay any more money than I already had. It was
after all not my fault that his bus had broken down and it was his
 responsibility to make alternate arrangements.

After a lot of discussion he asked me what my final budget was and I
agreed to go up to a maximum of Rs. 900/- per seat but nothing more.
He agreed to this and gave me the AC bus name (Modern Mercedes Benz )
 and departure point and time.

At 8 pm when the bus arrived near St. Xavier's College the person in
charge, a polite young man named Diago, asked me to pay Rs. 900/-
instead of the Rs. 400/- I had agreed to. I explained to Diago that
there was some misunderstanding. He showed me a slip of paper on which
it was mentioned that he had to collect Rs. 900/- from me. I asked to
speak to Naik and he dialed the number for me.

Riyaz Naik said that I had agreed to Rs. 900/-. I explained to him
that I had agreed to Rs. 400/- (ie Rs. 900/- each as opposed to the
earlier Rs. 800/-). He claimed that I had agreed to a total of extra
Rs. 900/-. I thought maybe it was a communication problem as he was
speaking Hindi and me English but I explained to him that I could not
afford the additional Rs. 500/-. He got very abusive on the phone and
told me in that case to cancel my ticket and take a refund. This he
tells me at 8.10 pm with my baggage and family about to the board the
 bus.

Because of the situation I had no alternative but to be bullied into
paying the additional Rs. 900/- (Rs. 400/- agreed upon plus and
additional Rs. 500/-) so I could board the bus.

On boarding the bus we were in for yet another disappointment. Our
seat numbers 17,18, 19 and 20 turned out to be the second last row of
the bus and not in the middle as had been shown on the original bus
plan. I checked and found that the first few rows on this AC-Luxury

 2) I have also asked around and found that this is a common ploy

forced to pay the difference for a better bus. Naik Travels is
particularly famous for this con game. How many non-AC buses mentioned

Dear Goanetters
I used to travel by kadamba bus whenever I used to go to Bangalore. The seats
were equally very bad and sometimes did not move when I wanted it in a recline
position. Once on my way to Goa suddenly the bus tyre got punctured. There was
no spare typre and so the conductor went to get the tyre repaired and we had to
sit in the dark and sing. The bus proceeded and then suddenly the driver found
out that the suspension had given way and so they stopped the bus and tied the
suspensors to a rope. Then I started to use the sleeper buses. Sea Bird VRL
logistics were nice buses to look at. The other day that is on 3rd of May I
along with my family and one month old grandson made a trip in sea bird from
bangalore to Goa. Hardly the bus left Majestic then the tyre exploded .At the
repair shop they found that the tube was completely out with its intestines
into pieces. Then the problem of removing the spare tyre. I think the tyre was
never removed for years and everything was jammed. The driver, the conductor and
most of the male passengers tried to help the driver to remove the spare tyre
which we did by breaking the tin part of the bus and the bus moved on. The next
day just before we reached ankola we noticed smoke coming out from the rear
tyres. The smoke was put off and we reached ankola to find that the brake linner
of the bus was worn out and had to be replaced and so we had to sit at ankola
restuarant for nearly one hour till the linner was replaced and then we reached
panjim at four in the evening.Albert

 Cecil,
To my experience this is not a new thing travelling by buses from GOA to
 BOMBAY or BOMBAY to GOA.
If you are frequently travelling you will catch them that moment but they
always tell the passengers last moment.
Every time we heard this they say bus is broken down and send the people
to different buses and gives what ever unwanted seats and sell the good
 seats to new customers.
You have good idea put them in justice.

In a hypothetical situation in which my critics found themselves closely
related to one of the thousands of boys abused and molested by a deviant

R Fernandes of Gulf International Promotions: All I am saying is that we
should not ridicule our religion (for beatifying someone who protected the
 abuser).
My comment: For the record I did not abuse any religion - I just bemoaned
the action of beatifying JP II on account of his cover-up.

Elvino Rodrigues: People who are criticizing the protectors of the abuse
are all former Catholics who have converted to another sect. Let us ignore
 them.

Joseph Fernandes: Saul of Tarsus (later St Paul) was also a great sinner.
Who knows whether he may have also committed such a heinous crime against
young men. But remember he was canonized. So why not John Paul II.

Lino Dourado: Let us not look at the negative side of the situation. The
priest in question is a great educator and is responsible for my young
relative getting a first class in the SSC. So what if he abused him?

And the cake goes to our Goanet Socrates Dr JC who in his paragraph (f) made
the following famous comment: There are many others in need of attention.
Words taken probably from the very mouth of the Cardinal in the Times
article who is reported to have abused 2000 boys and who must have said
those words after abusing the first 1000 boys, finding he had 1000 more to
 pay attention to

OK JC before you fly off the handle I have in jest misquoted you. But only

Our religion itself is a curse. While God became man and was born to a human
being the church formed with pope as the head distorted the religion to such an
extent that today the so called catholics are blind believers and what they
believe is what the priests tells them. Wrong religion has embedded into our
blood streams. today Mary has become a focus of our religion and she has been
raised to the sky. see how people rush to Valankani, Mount Mary Shivaji nagar
bangalore and see how they shout the chimes of Mary take us to heaven. Today we
are indulged in paganism and human beings can decide which priest or which nun
can be termed as saint. Today the Goa church wants Fr. Jose vaz and are making
so much of noise and madness. Our religion is just a simple one line religion.
Love God and Love your neighbour. this is far from reality when it comes to
catholic religion. Money collected for charity is abused. No account is given
to what is done with our money. Churches are renovated and converted into
palaces and the poor laity is made to pay with no money coming from the
bishop's house. The poor are still poor and the rich can live as they want.
There is no honesty among the clergy. There is no truth with the clergy. They
livwith two types of personalities. They except the laity to pardon them so why
we need confessions ? Can our catholic religion save us ? albert

 COMMENT:

1: I do not believe that anybody ridiculed either Catholicism or the
Pope - in this thread. Criticism is not the same as ridicule.
Criticism, however difficult to face, is always beneficial. Many
progressive actions have resulted from criticism.

2: Atheists, non-church-goers and those who are just plain negative
do not need fuel to be hyper-critical of the church or anything else.
They have in-built (possibly) GAS batteries which do not need external
 recharging.

3: Roland Francis has mis-represented my position. I did not use the
word EQUALLY in my previous post. To have done that, I would have
had to evaluate the candidature of the other nominees. I have not done
 so.

I'd say this (possibly again): Anytime one finds an obsessive and
unreasonably virulent antagonism against (say) the Church, a
particular priest or (as the case may be) Portugal or India, Try ask
this question - even to one's own self: WHY is this person this
obsessively virulent? Is there an antecedant issue (precursor) to this
obsession? Did the person miss out on any personal benefit?

practical examples: IF he was incarcerated by the Portuguese, was it
because he was a conscientious objector or was it because he was a
dacoit or a dangerous vandal ? If it is the case of an ex-priest, was
it because he felt that the vows were too onerous or was it because he
did not get his way to the top? If a specific priest is being
targeted, was it because the priest was plain wrong or was it because
the priest did not give a 'financial contract' to the friend?

If the person claims to be an atheist, that is what he/she is. What
makes his anti-religion tirade suspect is IF he selectively and
obsessively slams a particular religion, and yet attends 'church
 services' (say) for 'social reasons'.

I believe that it is a personal right to be whatever one wants to
be.as long as one allows others their right to be what they want
to be and do (provided, of course, that NO ONE ELSE is physically or
otherwise endangered or harmed in the process).

 CULTURE AND MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION
State reorganization is based on languages. How many states in India
recognize two languages as official and mother tongue too? Does it
mean that Goa has two cultures kept alive separately without
intermingling. Do we intend to tightly compartmentalize two
distinctive cultures Which culture takes precedent over the other.? Is
it a fact that Goans will always be at logger heads regarding the
convergence of Goan cultural identity Is there a conflict of interest
of cultures in Goa.?Those who vehemently supported merger of Goa into
Mahrashtra were traitors to deny the special and distinct identity of
Goa or to subvert one aspect of culture as non existent and yet they
are shamelessly in fore front of legislative assembly If language
alone is the corner stone and preserver of cultural identity, then
450 years of oppressive Portuguese Regime should have decimated that
idea. Yet we know that the language and culture survived to be proud
of under those circumstances The so called culture in isolation
,insulated from any influence is a myth. Static culture is a fad, but
culture that progresses by assimilating the best from any culture is a
reality. Today the world is the global village and happenings any
where immediately impact every citizen of the world All those
countries using English are killing their respective cultural
identity? Any way what is the cultural identity that some want to
preserve by forcing Konkani medium of Instruction in Primary schools
The Goans of any religious denomination have undergone a sea change in
their way of life, traditions, dress, leisure, customs food, beliefs,
celebration of our feasts and marriages functions of initiation into
our beliefs etc The only identity is of birth ,but that cannot be
openly put on display Many a non Goans is using the Konkani language
very fluently ,as the means of adjustment and survival The protagonist
of Marathi do no favour to the neighboring state .Marathi is believed
to be used for Religious purposes as Konkani in Roman script serves
the needs of the other community The youth of to day deplore the
tradition and customs as totally abhorrent that stifle freedom and
individual choices when chained to old values. In fact when old value
system is replaced by new values, the latter become the tradition and
custom These changes are happening all the time and influencing
thinking acting and behaving There is vested interest in opposing
English medium, when unaided schools are freely permitted to
proliferate Do they destroy our identity and why are they allowed to
function without any objections , In fact they are more in number than
Konkani medium schools If Konkani is preserver of culture there no
specific measures to promote it ,other then saying that medium must be
in Regional language only, One fails to understand the rational of
allowing urdu, kanada medium schools patronized by Govt .grants ,
without any reciprocal arrangement to benefit Goans spread in those
states Marathi in Goa cannot survive by forcing and continuation of
Konkani, it must flourish on its own merit and interest by the users
But the fear is real that English medium schools might sound death
knell for these schools Few individuals cannot advocate or thrust
their fanatic views on the majority in a democracy Individual have the
right to freedom of choice and is determined by the parents, who are
directly concerned with the welfare of their wards English today is
tool of communication .higher studies, courts and Govt administration
and it alone unites all the states, which are otherwise divided on the
imposition of other state languages The rich are free to decide, but
the poor cannot exercise the same choice because of economic condition

Subject: [Goanet] SONIA GANDHI's CHURCH BOLLYWOOD VENOM CHRISTIAN
 LIBERATION MOVEMENT

 To Goanet,
Sonia Gandhi is not just a politician she is also the president of the cash
rich congress party and also the chairperson of the UPA which is now stuck
up in various scams. Being a public figure it is the right of Indian
citizens especially Catholics to know which religion Sonia Gandhi belongs
to. So far the Indian News media has not published any photo of Sonia Gandhi
visiting any church in Delhi neither the media has published any photo of
Sonia Gandhi praying near the statue of Jesus Christ or Mother Mary neither
any photo of her celebrating Christmas or Easter. It is unlikely Sonia
 Gandhi is a catholic.

The Right wing Hindu groups have been brainwashing Hindus into believing
that if Sonia Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister of India then Catholics in
India will get jobs in senior positions in all Government departments. This
is false propaganda of the right wing Hindu groups. A lady who does not
visit church who does not pray in front of statues of Jesus Christ Mother
Mary and who does not celebrate Christmas Easter how can Catholics in
India benefit from such a lady ?

The stereotyping of catholics as drunkards, boozards, loose characters, low
IQ people, catholic women selling alcohol, etc in Bollywood films
permanently damaged the reputation of catholics in India especially
catholics living in bombay goa. But the most shameful part was of the
catholic clergy in Bombay Goa who allowed Bollywood Movie makers shooting
locations within Church premises. Even the Mount Mary Church in Bandra was
allowed for shooting locations and the parish priest who may have most
probably charged money for allowing the shooting never took permission of
the laity before allowing the bollywood producers/directors access to the
 church.

Catholics in Goa Bombay need to replace this system ‘Kal kya hoga kisko
pata abhi zindagi ka leh lo maza’ with this system ‘hard work higher
 education’.

Catholics in goa bombay are ugly, obcese lethargic because of the daily
consumptin of bakery white/maida breads...Eh Pavwalas.

Catholics in goa bombay are stuckup in family/relative property/court
cases and the 'bhaiyyas' 'biharis' and other migrants pour into goa and
bombay and built small shanties and they squat in them. Catholics in goa
bombay need to do what the 'bhaiyyas' 'biharis' have been doing but then
catholics are afraid of what pedhru uncle will say and the fun rosemary
 aunty will make of it.

Catholics in goa bombay are lazy because of the lazy sermons they hear
sunday after sunday from the lazy clergy during the sunday mass.

In 1998 Sonia Gandhi became the president of the Congress party and from
that year the right wing Hindu groups began their campaign against
Christians in India. That campaign subsidized with the burning of one
protestant missionary his two sons. That campaign again erupted in 2008
and the communal game is still on especially in Karnataka. It must be borne
in mind that Hindutva activists are at their predacious best when the kill
is easy and their own safety assured in advance. This is why where
Christians are in sizable numbers, such as in Nagaland, Kerala or even Goa,
Hindutva sectarians dare not touch them. Instead they turn to States like
Gujarat, Orrisa, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra where Christians are
scattered and isolated. In these places it is easy to kill without the fear
 of being killed.

For Hindu chauvinists the greatest national crime has been the 'pampering'
of the minorities (muslims christians) by the congress party but they
forget that it is the Hindu majority who have been pampered with government
jobs, facilities, housing by the congress party. More than 90% of Congress
Politicians are from the Hindu community and almost all of them are devout
Hindus many of them even maintain cordial relations with the right wing
hindu groups some are also former members of the right wing hindu groups.
Has anyone wondered why the congress party refuses to ban fundamentalist
 right wing hindu groups.

Not just the Congress party even the state bureaucracy, the judiciary,
police and armed forces try to protect the right wing hindu groups.

The refusal of Muslims to give away some of the mosques like the babri
masjid to hindus for building temples,

Dear Friend
Goa cannot provide job opportunity to you. So one needs to move out of Goa for
a job. Today lots of foreign companies have outsourcing .One prefers a smart
person in their establishment . Most of the companies use English as a medium
for transactions. Most of the students coming from Marathi or konkani medium
lack the ability to understand English and to speak it out clearly. If the
English teachers themselves have to waste time teaching students a new subjects
then where is there a time to make them speak, write and understand English?
Today many want to settle abroad. When one goes to US they will not appreciate
our degrees and so you are rejected. Then if you are given a test you tend to
fail. If you have a job in a call centre one must be able to talk in English
and hindi clearly. So a firm basic English background will go a long way. Take
for example of people in Austria, Italy, Switzland, Germany. The medium is
German. All the three countries use German and Itlay uses I think German and
Italian. But these countries are self sufficient as far as jobs are concerned
and so the students studying over here can get a job without English because
most of the transactions are done in German.I hope I am clear. We need not only
English Medium of Instructions but we need to modernise our teaching system. We
should weed out marathi speaking fanatics from the educational system . Many
people working in the Government educational department cannot draft a simple
circular. They first write it in Marathi and then translate it in English. Many
times they themselves cannot read what they have written. albert

 Dear Tony,
I find that you are trying to hide behind a technicality of your own making.
You are asking Freddy to show where specifically you have EXPLICITLY stated
that Konkani medium students are jackasses. What Freddy had requested you is
not to IMPLY this. And in your posts (as well as in Albert's) more than this
was IMPLIED; this would be clear to anyone who understands simple English.
All the ills of the education system are sought to be placed at the door of
Konkani medium primaries. Did these ills not exist prior to Konkani being
made the medium of instruction? And where has Freddy denied their existence?
But he has asked you whether it is only the Konkani medium students that are
the beneficiaries of the gracing. Are you in a position to truthfully
answer this question? Are the examiners / paper setters with English medium
primary background always better than those who had initially studied in
Konkani? Have you made a study of this?
Any error in English expression is blamed on Konkani primary. You do this,
for instance, in this very post with regard to Freddy's using two N's in
Konkani. Have you read any English article by Tomazinho Cardozo? He always
spells the word as Konknni. So do Fr. Pratap Naik, Jose Salvador Fernandes,
Bosco de Sousa Eremita and a host of others. Did they study in Konkani
primaries? How would you justify this?
You have effectively put a stop to Freddy's posts by laying down a condition
which just cannot be met; contrary to your contention that it can upload
Devanagari, Goanet has no provision for correctly uploading even Roman script
posts in Konkani; even a simple word in Konkani like Goa appears as: “Gõy”.
I do not think you are unaware of this!

Dear Goanetters
If corruption is born in Goa we the goans are to be blamed and no one else.
When one goes to the government offices one finds the staff missing. What do we
do ? go again. Sometimes we want the work fast and so pour out notes in his
pocket. So many times people without licence drive on the road and when we meet
with an accident we pay the other side and finish it off. Sometimes the police
is bribed. Don't we use the influence of a minister to get out job done ? Who
pays bribe to get the job in the government department ? We have consumers
court and we have civil and criminal courts. We just do not want to use those.
I once bought a IFB machine. Just before the warranty date the timer was not
working and the mechanic just put a thread to make it work. A fortnight later I
was told that the timer needed replacement. I took the company to the
consumer's forum as a result I got a very good machine which is still working
for the last 8 to 9 years. I have also noted that IFB machines are the best
machines in India now. There are so many builders in Goa and so many buildings
have come in Goa. 98% of the people buying flats do not care to form a society.
The builder is supposed to build only in 40% of area available on ground and
leave 60% as empty space. How many of the flat owners care about the vacant
space ? The builders after starting the project and when nearly half over will
extend and build in the remaining vacant space with the blessing of the
municipal Council. I bought a flat from Maizons. We went to the state consumers
forum and fought the case for nearly five years and won the case. The builder
had to give us nearly 1000 or more sq metre of land , form a society and a
convenyance. plus a compensation of 4 lakhs to the members. I have my office in
Saldanha Business towers. The builder is taking us for a ride but we have no
unity so we cannot fight for our rights. The maintaince deposit that was
collected by the; builder is been used by the builder instead of depositing it
in the bank. The builder is in foren country and we are the suffers because we
do not know to fight for our rights. Why does the government not keen in giving
English as medium because we are divided and some say maka kiteac poddlam ?

The people of Goa should not allow themselves to be fooled over and over

Dear friends
Passing an examination is one thing and become someone to fit is another thing.
Our SSC E has no standard because the papers are set by someone mostly who has
no control over English. Each time I went through a question paper of science
or maths I noted lots of mistakes and most of the time the questions were mere
translations of marathi. Many of the paper setters were moderators and chief
moderators and when on the first day the paper was discussed they only wanted
us to follow their dictates . There used to be a heated discusssions over
acceptance of certain answers. Some of the questions had many answers.
Sometimes the questions were wrongly framed and wrong too. In maths there used
to be many wrong questions. The board never thought of taking serious actions
and the student community kept quiet. That is the reason the board is afraid to
give to the students a xerox copy of their answer sheet to be taken at home for
fear that the students may get the xerox paper corrected by their respective
teacher .The other thing is the school curriculum does not make any one stand
straight on the earth. Our students after passing college do not find a
suitable job because we are examination oriented. How many of our students
after graduation can stand and talk fluently over a mike, or before some group
of company personal in an interview? How many of our people working can discus
on a debate on a tv ? In school we are taught stupid subjects like compulsory
english, hindi, konkani or marathi, maths science and social sciences. Our
students mug up and answer the examinations. Villages specially the remote ones
which is invaded by marathi politicians are like martyrs when they answer the
examinations. The teachers themselves do not have a command over the subjects
but they have managed to invade the board and the education department. Albert

 Dear Tony,

Honestly I did not want to get involved in this charade called MOI, we are in
 a
Democracy where a majority counts but that does not give you or any body else
the right to discredit the minority and when people like your good self who
 are
educated and are also educationists, talk through their hats, a correction is
justified, mind you it's not a confrontation, it's a correction.

Let me be specific, you said that There is nothing spectacular about students
who have studied in regional languages who do well at the SSC examinations.
 You
further said that marks are brought up by the unqualified moderators to pass
these students. Now would you say that this phenomena benefits only the
regional language students and the English medium students do not benefit from
this phenomena ? As far as I know there are no markings on the SSC or the
 HSSC
papers to say that the students are from English medium, Konkanni medium or
 even
Marathi medium primary schools. So how can you say that that only the regional
language students benefit from this phenomena ? We surely did not have
different boards for different MOI at SCC or HSSC.

Do you seriously believe that all English medium students pass SSC and HSSC
without the benefit of this phenomena and all regional language students do
 ?
Aren't you being totally bias here or even racists to words the Konkanni

students ? For your kind information, only the students that do not do well
 are
helped by this you're so called phenomena irrelevant to the MOI, and all
 those
that do well in either case are the ones that do not need this benefit. A
person of your caliber should have known that better than me.

Did not Konkanni and Marathi medium students pass through normal and even
professional colleges ? There are a lot of professionals, Doctors, Engineers,
specialized technicians, Lawyers, priests, religious, scientists and others
 who
have passed through regional language primary schools, but did they get the
benefit of the same phenomena in their respective colleges and universities
 ?
Do you want to say that even in our professional colleges marks are brought
 up
to pass the regional language primary students ? Do you really want all these
 people to believe that ?

I am aware of the fact that all students who do not perform to the required
level are given grace marks, I am also aware that a lot of our teachers and
moderators are unqualified, these moderators do make mistakes in general and
 not
necessarily only against brilliant students, we had them then and we have them
now but the credibility, the hard work and the dedication that the konkanni
medium students have put in should not be diluted or distorted by some inane

Dear Goanetters
I do not think I need to name the bank as according to me all nationalised

enter the bank I feel that I have entered a hell. Staff is so busy and always
with sad face. Their printers do not work sometimes. One day I sent my office
assistant to update my pass books. My whole family has account over there. So I
have about six passbooks. The clerk started grumbling. I had to complain to the
zonal manager to sort out the case. One day I wanted to make a fixed deposit.
The money was lying in the saving account of the same bank. The concern clerk
had to just press a button of his computer make two entries and another click
and the certifcate gets printed. But no he told me to come again. One day I
wanted to withdraw ten thousand from the bank, I prefered one thousand notes.
The clerk refused to give me saying he does not have and gave me one hundred
demonition. I made noise. The chief cashier is my neighbour. He came to my
rescue and brought ten thousand of one thousand dem and gave me but before that
the clerk concerned told me that if I was not satisfied with the bank I could
close the account. I see number of old people waiting in que .Some of them
cannot stand .Some of them come to get their fixed deposit . At the end of the
year I want a statement from the bank for the accured interest .One day I
requested the bank manager to post the same to me which he refused. I send the
request to the zonal manager and then the certificate was sent to me. I have an
account with corporation bank Mapuca. There the case is not different from bank
of India. Same stories. Some of the clerks do not know to operate the keys of
the computer. I complained to the head office throu interenet and then the
zonal manager phones me, the branch manager phones me and things have improoved
a bit but for how long I donot know. MY atm pin had got over. The pin had to be
renewed. I did not notice that and was refused withdrawl . When I told this to
the bank officer he told me that my new pin was lying with them for past one
month. I should have seen that. I had an account with the axis bank. I wanted a
statement at the end of the year which they never gave me and I closed the
account. They were trying to preach to me that it was the best bank .I have
noticed other banks too. Same old stories and that is why people want to have
their accounts in ICICI, HDFC. I do not have an account in these banks but once
or twice went there to withdraw cash and found the staff quite cheerful and
helpful.

Dear Goanetters
I studied in English Medium school. My teachers were good in English and the
school encouraged us to speak in English most of the time. Konkani was not
taught in the school and the languages we had were English. Hindi and the third
language was French, Latin, Portuguese. Because of this we could understand
easily maths, science, history and geography. While studying even an aveage boy
could follow the text book and solve old question papers of SSCE without much
difficulty. Tony De Sa was the product of that school .Hence the students were
easliy able to adjust at medical college. Engineering college and any other
such colleges without much trouble. Even the students whose parents spoke
konkani most of the time mostly the labour class were good in studies in the
school. Did we forget our mother tongue? I started reading konkani novels while
I was in school. My mom was a lover of konkani novels and would buy them .At
first reading the novels in Romi script was rather difficult but with effort I
was able to read it with ease. Today without learning konkani language myself I
can write konkani in Romi script .I have been writing konkani tiatrs and
staging them. I even got best script award. Albert de Souza

I have not studied Konkani all throughout my primary school and college
days, but speak Konkani right from my childhood. I could read Konkani both
in devnagri and romi because my primary education was in Marathi and
thereafter my education was in English. I learnt writing devnagri Konkani
somewhere in 2000, that too on my own and even publish one short story book
in devnagri Konkani (my 13th book) titled 'Belapan' which was released at
 the hands of Damodar Mauzo.

While my daughter and son studied in English primary school (Manovikas) with
Konkani as one of the subject. Daughter passed out IT engineering and right
this year doing her ME. My son has joined computer engineering. Whenever
issues of medium of instruction at primary level popes up my children always
accuse me asking, why had you not put us in Marathi primary school like you
studied? To this question I always avoid replying or justifying them - for I
too question my parents as to why they had enrolled me to Marathi primary
school. This situation clearly suggests that once child grow up they do
question parents for imposing their decisions on them - despite the fact
that child's age at the entry to primary level can never allow them to make
informed choice! This argument may not be true with all children and
 parents!

Over all, I consider that it's not worth taking any side on the issue, for
whichever side one take there will be a counter offensive. Therefore I don't
want to justify, defend or take up any side on the issue.

These days I've noticed that our political dividers (Goans) are beating
drums on medium of instruction in primary schools in Goa for the third time.
This is not a healthy sign. Such attempts will ruin the future of our
 upcoming posterity.

I believe, in such dead-lock situation, the issue could be best solved once
and for all by taking opinion poll from all Goan voters. And this could be
even initiated along with upcoming assembly election in Goa which is due in
year time without extra expenditure to exchequer. This is my frank opinion.

PANAJI: Goa has witnessed a boom in the banking sector and the number
of banking offices was 556 on September 30, 2010, states the economic
survey 2010-11. There is a scheduled commercial bank branch for
approximately every 4,148 people in Goa as against the all-India
average of 14,683 people, the survey states.

As per the figures provided in the survey, Himachal Pradesh-with an
average population of 7,035 people per branch-and Punjab with 8,377
people come a close second and third respectively. The average of
Sikkim, Kerala and Uttarkhand is below 9,000, while other states range
between 10,000 and more up to 29,913.

Among the union territories, Chandigarh has the best average of 5,106,
while Lakshadweep has 6,818 and Delhi has 8,133. After liberation,
Goa's banking sector grew phenomenally. This (the figures) show that
Goa has the best banking services compared to all other states and
union territories in the country, the survey report states.

There were hardly five banking offices in 1962, but by the time Goa
was granted statehood in 1987, the number grew to 300. The aggregate
deposits registered a phenomenal growth from 9 crore in 1962 to 26,045
crore in 2008-09 and to 29,506 crore in 2009-10, according to the
 survey.

During 2008-09, domestic savings registered an annual growth of 30%,
while NRE deposits dropped to 3% as compared to the previous year. In
2009-10, the annual growth rate of domestic and NRE deposits stood at
14% and 10% respectively. The number of nationalized bank branches
increased by 5.13% over the previous year, while the number of private
sector banks and cooperative bank branches increased by 21.31% and
 7.20% respectively.

The percentage increase in deposits for nationalized banks, private
sector banks and cooperative banks is 42.49%, 72.04% and 56.30%
respectively. Similarly, the percentage increase in credits for
nationalized banks and cooperative banks is 56.99% and 60.10%
respectively, whereas for private sector banks it decreased by 9.41%,
 the report states.

The credit deposit ratio has decreased from 31 in September 2009 to 30
in September 2010. Notably, cooperative banks topped the list as far
as credit deposit ratio is concerned followed by nationalized banks,
while private sector banks recorded a credit deposit ratio of 20.

This from Soter is fully and completely endorsed.

BTW: When I talk of mother-tongue as the desired language/medium of
instruction in primary schools ( std. 1 to IV only), I am talking of the
spoken language which according to me is the language that all Goans speak
at home (shasti dialect included) including the Marathi lobby and is the
spoken language in over 95 per cent of Goan homes.

It is another matter altogether that communals (like Adv. Uday Bhembre Co)
have infiltrated our beloved Konkani with ANTRUZI by heavily sanskrutizing
and slaughtering the Konkani that has been spoken widely in Goa for many
 centuries by adopting some Portuguese words (like 'passoek/walk' ;
 'bolos/poket' 'sucegad/easy going etc).

Konkani should have been in Roman Script only (like many countries like
Malaysia etc have). Attaching communal colour to a script is the work of
 Goan communal devils.

Communals who smash Portuguese name plaques of Goan names must be smashed
 out of Goa.

Goa Su-Raj shall do this job effectively by first stopping his pensions to

The Goan casteist-communal cowards now rope in a 'bhailo', Baba Ramdev, to
justify their unpopular demand of imposing devanagiri konkani as the medium
of instruction on all Goans. There is nothing new in this dirty tactic as a
similar game was played during the konkani agitation where these very
pro-maharashtra agents roped in the Shiv Sena to try and intimidate the
konknivadis. That is why it was a Floriano Vaz from Gogol, Margao that got
shot at point blank range for no real reason. The manufactured
konkani-marathi divide was exploited and used to shove devanagiri script as
the official script for konkani down the throats of Goans. The communal
agenda was further advanced by the Jai Maharashtra brigade of Shashikala
Kakodkar. Twenty years later the move has backfired as this communal move
has adversely affected the education prospects of both communities. The
 victim is the konkani language.
Polarising the communities has been the most trusted weapon of Goa's
casteist-communal opportunists that have reaped rich dividends since the
liberation of Goa. They have managed to divide and reap Goa's resources in
the countryside and sell it to Japan and China. In hind sight one can deduce
that United Goans Party and the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party were
manufactured by one and the same casteist-communal oppressors. These
casteist opportunists created the alliance between BJP and MGP in 1998
election and enjoyed the exploits until 2004, but no sooner their agendas
were not fulfilled they began releasing ads claiming that the very same BJP
is communal. The enemy of Goa is within and not somewhere else. The sooner
Goans discern between genuine issues and those systematically popularised
with vested interests, the better will it be for the survival of Goa and the
 Goan people.

Talking about full day school :- Many schools do not have proper infra
structure. In Mapuca there are only three schools that really can meet
the challenge ofn a full day school. A full day school will need a
proper canteen facility for the children to buy food incase the
government does not give them a meals. They need a proper toilets and a
big playground for them to play. A full day school will increase sports
activities as well as cultural activities. When St.Britto High school
was built much before the concept was conceived in the minds of the
priests they fully vitualised the need of the school two or three
decades hence and they made provisions when everything was cheap. This
is called master planning. So too st anthony's school Duler and sfx
school Mapuca. I do not know why other schools did not bother to
visualise the future needs and demands of the schools and remained still
in primitive where students use roads as their toilets. No ground to
play, no place to even stand and talk. What a pity that people have
ventured into the field of education with no knowledge of the needs of
the children.

Re: [Goanet] Cooking with Coconut Oil - good for your health

Dear GoanettersWe are carried away by advertisements . Either it is your doctor
or the tv that tries to convince you that this and that is very bad. As soon as
the child is born parents take him to the primary health centre for a dose. The
poor child is injected with so many drugs like polio dose, triple dose etc.
Initially there were only three doses but now it has increased to more than
three. People are carried away by Amitabh bachan supporting booster dose. When
my fourth child was born my homeopathy doctor told me not to give him any of
these doses. I did not give my fourth child any one of these doses and found
that he was in good health. My other three used to get cold very often but not
this one. BCG has in a mild form a TB germ. The body develops TB in a mild way
resulting in fever and cold every now and then. When these appear people rush
to the doctor who knows only one thing- anti biotics or now it is steriods. With
the result most of our organs are destroyed either partially or completely.
When we were small our grannies used to put coconut oil on our head, and also
in our ears. When born we were massaged with coconut oil and the one who did
that must have banged us here and banged us there with her strong hands .Once a
year we were given purgative. That cleared our gall bladder and prevented
depositing of gall as gall stones. Today our modern doctors who do no research
at all frighten people and do not allow them to put oil in the ear, ior
massage, or use of purgative .Our doctors do no research at all. They have
their old traditional way of diagnosis. Those who want to make money will
organise blood test , stool test, x ray, ecg, endoscopy, scan, MIR etc etc and
sometimes it is available under one roof. A friend of mine went to work in his
field at around 2.30 pm and must have got a sun stroke. He fell down and so his
wife took him to a doctor who recomended scan followed by mir and blood test,
all these gave negative result and his bank balance also showed negative .I
told him that he should have rested at home for a day or two or gone to some
old doctors who charge say five to ten ruppes. The list is endless so I shall
stop here. Albert(or see this as science, or the result of manipulation

Pig scientifically i think is called a boar. What people in Goa would be doing
was to castrag.. the pig when young and then it would become a mild animal. It
did the work of a scavenger. The boar or rann dukor lived in the forest and has
teeth coming out from the side of the snout. They are really wild. while the
farm pigs are huge pigs with lots of fat in them and I think they belong to a
breed with high hormones. They are normally called English pigs. The goan pigs'
meat tasted nice. The meat and the fat was well balanced. I have not tasted the

relished by Goan Hindus and Christians. Finally, the Farmed-Dukor in US,

Also need to separate Relishing from mass-consuming. Relishing is preferring
pork even if lobster, fish, mutton, chicken or mushrooms are served.
Consumption by many can be cost determined. Now, Raan-Dukor is illegal and
Cumaos are replaced by septic tank toilets and Goo-Dukor may not be eating
Goo. Yet 99 percent Hindus do not eat Goo-Dukor as a substitute. May be less

2011-01-18 Thread Albert Desouza

Dear GoanettersIn the first case one must read the bible, meditate on the word
of God and God will reveal about His kingdom to us. Today Pope, Bishops are
living in Palaces like Kings.Priests are moving about in cars which they
actually cannot afford and have huge bank accounts. Christianity is not all
these. Christianity is a simple life where man builds up a rapport with God
through other human beings. Love is the hub of Christianity. Today there is no
love in the catholic faith. The bread does not change into the body of Christ
and if you believe in this then you belong to the old Egyptian religion of God
ra in which those days the priest used to make wafers of wheat and with
magnifying lens would transfer the sun's rays on the wheat wafer and bake it.
Then it was distributed to the members as body of sun god ra. When I look at
the purple cap of the bishop it reminds me of the bishop of the clan of ra and
not christian people. I hope you dear fr.ivo has understood what I am trying to
express. Palaces, riches of the world is not God's domain. albert

The Pope lives in a palace and has a luxurious lifestyle.
*Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a
 needle than
for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God,* said Jesus Christ. The Pope
obviously thinks differently! He has more in common with a CEO of a global
corporation or Head of State than Jesus of Nazareth.
** If you claim to be anti-Christ, why do you quote Jesus?
You are quoting Jesus outside the context.
Jesus speaks of the hardened rich who are not open to others.
The Pope is surely not. Wealth is not his personal possession.
He is also the Head of the State, as he is the spiritual Father of the
 Christian community.
The Pope is within the Church and for the Church. This is Christianity, not
 Churchianity...

Every Sunday priests claim, and millions of Roman Catholics pretend,
the host and wine are really the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Now,
that's taking a lie a bit too far even for a psychologically divided
  people,
wouldn't you say? We Roman Catholics, millions and millions of us, have
nothing to lose but our chains, our lies!
**Not only every Sunday, but every day and every moment of a day, the
Christian believes in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. There are
 reasons to believe.
You will not know it, because you had not Christian education...You cease to
be a Catholic. if you do not believe it.
 You claim to be anti-Christ...

The representative of God, the Pope speaks for God or so I'm told by
the Roman Catholic Church. Does God speak only through him and his priests
and never through ordinary mortals?...Where is the truth?
***Do you accept authority in the secular world? Then what is your problem?
How would you answer: Where is the truth? The Pope speaks for God, he is
 the final authority,
together with the episcopal body, to interpret the Christian Revelation
 (Scripture and living Tradition).

Only the priestly class is happy as it provides them with a job, an
  opportunity for service...
**Priesthood is a vocation within the Christian vocation. Ex-priests and
 ex-seminarians
are not at a loss for secular jobs. It is one of the best and most difficult
 services on earth.

   Joao Barros-Pereira aka The Anti-Christ
  Have a nice Sunday!
**Again, you are the anti-Christ, trying to spoil our Sundays...
 Regards.

Dear GoanettersWe cannot afford to become half baked christians. Many of us are
just christians because our parents took us to church and forced baptism on us.
Many of us are so callled christians because we go to Mass on sunday but how
many of us really pray through our hearts ? Wearing rosaries round our necks,
saying rosaries three to four times a day, attending novenas, masses everyday
and receiving sacraments does not make us christians. Jesus never received
baptism till he was 30 years old. Till 30 he was preparing the way to te
baptism. Along with baptism he received the strength from the Holy Spirit and
assurance from the Almighty God to go a head with his mission and because of
that three years has enough to change many hard earned jews towards him. Today
the so called Roman Catholics who think they are the joneros of Heaven
(gaunkars) do not know the bible. Our leaders do not touch the bible. We
criticise anyone who preaches the word of God and we try to put hurdles . We
laugh at those who have gone away from the catholic church and condem them to
hell with our words but how many of you know where heaven is and whether we
will really golo there ? Do you think Mary will help us ? I say no because she
has never promised us heaven. why should she do something against the will of
the God ? Do we love any of God's creations ? we divide ourselves based on
religion, caste, colour .Our parents are longing for our love in homes for the
aged. Our children are longing for the embrace of their parents. Husband and
wives are waiting for a divorce. Many have aborted their children. Many want
just one or two . Courts are filled with cases that the law department does not
know what to do. Jails are full. Every where scams. cheating lies. etc. mostly
catholics. Poor people build palaces for rich people to rule us. In the name of
God the church property has been sold .Who is building the churches we and who
are maintaining the churches we. what do the so called religious give us ?
Nothing. They do not put anything in the collection box on sundays. Every thing
is dump on the lay people .We think that we are giving to God but in fact we
are giving to the ...God bless you. We ourselves have become antichrist. We
do not know what is faith. Christianity means loving God and loving your
neighbour. albert de souza

Dear GoanettersWe have been adoring the foreigners from time immemorial. When
we went with our school children at Pascual's spice garden and when Pascual was
taking our children round he would instruct us to maintain silence because the
firgim (foreigners ) do not like noise. At one place our children had to move
out with their food packets because the foreigners had to pass that way.
Finally I had to give the owner my piece of advice and I told him that if he
was so much in love with foreigners and if he adored them as earthly gods he
should not allow us goans in. We had paid entrance ticket and did not come
there free. Please refund our money and we will move out. With that he kept his
mouth shut and avoided the word foreigners for the rest of the time. Once we

While almost all posts in the Bomras thread are centred around
discrimination, your posts are lost in tresspass, which is not an issue, even
 probably to Bomras' owner.

Your (a) is misplaced: there are Consumer laws and obligations.
Your (b) is full of bias: Don't tell me you never noticed foreigners and Goan
high class eating out at filthy gaddes, along with filthy rag pickers. That
the gaddes or rag pickers are filthy does not mean they are inferior. Rag
pickers have superior immunity (than foreigners, high class, you or me) to
withstand the lower hygienic conditions. Gaddes offer superior taste with a
niche of its own, which 5 stars cant. And your (and mine) hygienic status
which we consider as high may be sub standard relative to some other person's
standards. Can that person look down upon you as you did with gadde eaters?
Your (c) defeats accepted systems: Tips are post service, depending upon

 stewards and waiters.

Having repented for wasting time on fukot advice this far, I didn't read

Roman Catholics have a feeling of superiority. They always believe that theirs
is the true religion founded by Christ and that we are all saved. Apart from
hearing masses, and saying rosaries and attending feasts which are stereotype
what do we have to say we are the children of God ? Nothing. John was from
labour class. He lived in an ouNow tthouse of one rich catholic widow and did
all her work. He lived with his wife and three children. None of the members
ever went to school. John's mother looked after the kitchen when all the five
family members went to work. They did not know to pray either and sometimes
they had to work on sundays so going for mass was impossible. Many devout
catholics made him work on sundays and paid him less because poor John did not
know much of money matters. He had no savings and the day there was no work
there was no food. It was Good friday. People were rushing to the church. John
was busy breaking an old tree of a pious religious lady in her b
ack yard. He was not even aware that it was Good friday. Just then someone
rebuked him and shouted at him for not going to church. It was the day of
penance and fasting. You have to go to church shouted the good old lady. Poor
John felt hurt that he was not attending the church and left his work rushed
home and wore a crumpled old shirt and made his way to the church. Everyone's
gaze was on his crumpled shirt. Some one next to him caught his hand and asked
him whether he could not iron his shirt. It was in the month of October. John
was sitting outside his house . His mother was critically ill in Govt. hospital
and he could not go to work .Two members of his family had to remain in the
hospital. A couple came to his door and wanted to speak about christ. John got
irritated and said Christ is for those whose stomach has its fill not for
poor John who has not been able to get food because there is no work. What will
I do with your sermon on Christ ? I want money. The husba
nd opened his purse and gave him some dole and went away promissing to come
again. Next day a team of helpers descended at his house. They were a group of
protestants. They promised to send his children to school and promised to give
John a decent job. John's children went to school. John and his wife got a job
on monthly salary with free food at their centre. John and his family were free
on sundays and attended Praise and worship. His clothes were now different, his
looks were now different. His family was very happy. Some of the catholics
around his house came to know that John had become a believer and they went to
his house. They fired him for joining that group. You will be condemned to hell
. You will not get your last sacraments. save your soul John. This time John
really got angry. He stood straight and put his chest out and said. Did you
know that John really existed on this soil ? I wore crumpled clothes and you
made me work on sundays and even of Good friday that
time you never thought I had a soul. You paid me less and I accepted it. No
one thought about my children's education .Now that I have become a believer
and got my identity that I am a child of God you thought of my salvation and my
soul. Don't worry My God will save me for my heart is with God .albert de souza

We are worried about the world. we are all praying for world leaders. Let us
pray for our families for families make the world. For our religious saying
masses and celebrating feast will not bring salvation to humanity. Jesus never
said mass. he never told us to say rosary. Mary never told us that she is the
mother of God for God cannot have a mother and if he does then he is not god.
Mary was not a preacher. she spoke very little but her action had meaning. She
did just one thing. She gave us Jesus .That was her mission. She followed just
two things. One was to do the will of God and the second was to show concern
for others. Today the so called Roman catholics along with their religious
sections do not do the will of God nor have any concern for others. For the
married God spoke to us in Genesis. Increase and multiple and fill the world.
if that is so why family planning for us ? Regarding concern for others there
is no love existing on earth today. The church cares for the poor only during
christmas when they suddenly think of the crib and christmas. Do they do
anything for the poor ? there are various kinds of poor. some without money and
others without love and help. If we were true christians why do many people
live under a roof which is open. Live with one meal a day. Why are our parents
in the home for the aged. and the list is endless. stop celebrating useless
feasts. Stop the dos and don'ts. Do we care for the lay people ? albert de

Dear GoanettersRoman Catholic Church is not the one that Christ founded from
the cross. It is just another branch of the old Egyptian church. You can go
website www.sun god ra or any website which will give clear picture of those
churches and these churches. Since we have our roots in Rome it is just natural
that they love to live in palaces and in luxury. The church has written its own
history. While there cannot be mother of God the church has declared Mary as
Mother of God. Mary was not immaculate conception and she did not ascend into
heaven body and soul .While actually Jesus was born between May and august the
Roman catholic church has fixed the date of birth on 25th dec the day egyptian
celebrated the feast of sun god ra. albert

 New Goan Identity

The good news we're told is that God chose to have his son born in a
 stable.

That's what I read on Goanet a few days ago. Why doesn't God's
representative choose to live in a stable if it is so wonderful I wonder?
Why does the Head of the Roman Catholic Church choose to live in a palace?
Maybe, this is a problem of theology for some, for me it is pure hypocrisy!

No stable for the head of the Roman Catholic Church in Goa either. It is
 unstable. What fun!

While the Church would like us to give to the poor, the Vanxem Roman
Catholic Church has sold land to a builder from outside Goa. Development? Is
this the way to peace within or in Goan society? Last year was indeed a very
merry merry year for the Roman Catholic Church. What hypocrisy!

The sheep of the Roman Catholic Church see what the Holy Roman Catholic
Church does, and naturally, they do the same! What is good enough for the
Church is good enough for me is no doubt a popular refrain. Better than
 Sunburn, eh?

Hypocrisy is a dangerous thing! It destroys our authenticity and makes us
psychologically unsound. It turns our life into a battlefield, a conflict
zone, making it a living hell! No harmony withih, no peace of mind.

Now, what can we do about it? Unless the sheep learn to vote with their
 feet, there is no hope.

Our young people have started to move away from the hypocrisy of the Church.
They want to own their own lives, to regain their own consciousness. As I
see it, there is no hope for the older generation. The young people are our
hope, they have found a way out, an exit. Good news!

For the New Goan to be born the Old Goan has to die. We have to realize the
Church is not the solution; it is the problem. Either we do so or learn to
live in a divided psychological state until death sets us free. Cheers!

 A Happy New Year!

We then went to a vegetable stall within the panjim Market.

Panch Rupia Losunn ani Pach Rupia Alem di re..
They had a good laugh (some of them known to me, for I buy f
 ruits from them)
 ‘What’s o funny’ she asked.
Believe me or not I too did not catch up with the joke
Once I found out, I felt really embarrassing.

 Rs.5 garlic?
They won’t even give you garlic for Rs.20 as 100g alone cost Rs.32

What about the piyao or onion?
I remember, in UK, we bought 10kg onion bag for 1.99 pounds
  (=Rs.140)
In here with that 140 you will not even get 3 kgs.
Onion is sold for Rs. 0kg (it was Rs.80)

Then she is going on and on..
I said to her ‘ puro ghe saibinni, ho bazaar kela to,
 chol ya ami ghara’

Going home without buying fish? She asked.
Then I took her to the nearby Fish market, knowing she finds
everything expensive or 'Marog' I pointed out portions of lepo
or sole fish assuming this is the cheapest item
in the fish market. (Lepos are are favourite too)
But no, the vantto is for Rs.50. She said ‘avoi, Masolli kitu marogu’
(she is another xastikan like me but spent over 10 years in Ilhas)

Then I asked her, where we should go for tea?
She said why not ‘cafe Bhonsle’ - Since our car is parked around there?

Ordered a bhaj-pau, mirchi plate and a cup of tea each
And the bill was Rs.90 – She exclaimed
 ‘Goyant soglem marog uz' mure’
She then said ‘yesterday didn’t we have two fish curry rice (thali),
with 2 extra rice and we paid a total of Rs. 70 for two of us?
 I said yes.
So next time, I said, will go for dinner instead of Cha Bhaji Pao.
She agreed- If only we waited till 7pm for dinner.
(We came out of the Cafe at 6.30pm)

At home she was going on and on this topic ‘Margai’
Which made me to come back to the Panjim Market
and capture the common veg/fruits items and pass it on to you
along with the price list as on today 27th Dec. 2010

Hope you find it interesting too

Dear GoanettersThis is for those studying in st Anthony's High School Monte de

times here and there and had a get together after nearly 40,41 years.
Unfortunately some of them have died and cannot meet us. Last time we met on
the 17th of November at Monte de Guirim .We had a nice time for few hours that
we were there trying to remember the old good days. There are many of those
whom we cannot contact because we do not have their phone numbers or address

[Goanet] God and You

2010-12-22 Thread Albert Desouza

Albert writes:- Christmas means the birth of the Jesus. The word became flesh
and dwelt into this world.God came into this world in the form of Jesus to
bring us salvation. Jesus gave us assurance that he would lead us to the
father. Is our religion bringing us salvaton ? No. As long as the catholics do
not embrace Jesus in word and in thought no salvation can come to us. In the
life of Jesus he assured Nicodemus salvation. Today he is assuring us
salvation. We are after worldly gods. We have been embracing instruments that
are paganic. No human beings can save us except christ then why do we not
embrace Christ and holding his hand we go to the Father. God himself has
promised to become our Father. He has promised salvation to us. He has promised
to look and take care of us. Let us hold God's hand and fall into an embrace
with Him and allow God to love and nourish us with his loving self. In this
christmas let us take a resolution not to care too much for statues but to read
bible and make it part of our self. Every right step in this world is mentioned
in the Bible. God speaks to us in the Bible and unless and until we make a
habit and pray to the Lord our God directly by opening our hearts we will
remain as strangers in the eyes of God. Amen

[Goanet] God's gift to us

2010-11-30 Thread Albert Desouza

Albert writes:- God has created so many plants on this earth but many of us are
not aware the usefulness of these plants. I shall take few today. Many times we
have cuts on our body and tend to rush to a doctor who will use all sorts of
chemicals that will destroy our body. Tumeric powder if put on the wound or
even burn will cure the wound in one or two days. Even burns. Onion can cure
colds and fever. In case of flu do not rush to your doctor who will dose you
with antibiotics and stereoids. Smash one or two onions and get the juice and
pour it on your head and body. Just take few onions and smash them and rub the
onions on the whole body starting from the head and tie the onion pulp on the
head and sleep. Take rest the next day as you will be smelling of onions but
fever and flu will dissappear the next day leaving no side effects or weakness.
Garlic can reduce your blood pressure and so if you are suffering from high
blood pressure take one or two flakes of garlic smash it and mix it with rice
and swallow.Take care not to eat too much of garlic as it can cause piles/. If
you are suffering from acidity instead of taking gellusil which contains
aluminium and zinc harmful for the kidneys take cumin (jeera) and roast it on
the pan and put the seeds in boiling water and let the water cool and drink it
whole day. If you are having dry cough specially at nights then take little
warm water and put one or two teaspoonful of honey and drink it. Give your
child honey every morning and they will become strong. One teaspoon of cinnamon
powder and one teaspoon of honey taken early in the morning can cure diabetes.
Chillies kill germs in your body and corriander taken in food reduces heat in
the body.Incase of motion take rice and fry it on a pan along with cumin seeds
and pour it in boiling water and drink it the whole day.For cold you may take a
piece of ginger smash it on the grinder and put the piece in four cups of water
and add tulsi leaves. boil and drink the water the whole day. Your cold will
come out of your body. Incase you have painful boil and has become septic and
feel like going to the doctor who will lance it and allow the pus to flow and
then you will have to take antibiotics . Instead take a leaf of aloevera which
is called kantekor in konkani and roast it on a pan. allow it to cool a bit and
tie it on the painful boil .You wait and see the next day your pus will ooze
out by itself and relief you of all pain.

Previous to that they had staged my tiatr Mummy maka vengent dor . I do not

Dear GoanettersA few handful citizens called freedom fighters cannot rule goa.
Infact they as freedom fighters have done nothing to liberate Goa from the
hands of portuguese and hence all other goans not included in the list of
freedom fighters should come together and fight to stop the pension and other
benefits of these freedom fighters as they had not done anything for our goa
nor are doing anything to prevent our land being robbed by sharks .albert

[Goanet] God and you

2010-11-20 Thread Albert Desouza

Albert writes:- God lives in You for you are a special person before God. When
you were in the womb of your mother God knew you and had written a history for
you. That was God's plan. Today human beings have tendancy to draw up their own
plan and when it does not match with God's plan you tend to get frustrated and
curse God for sending you sufferings and misfortunes. We do not need structural
church to serve God. We do not need great leaders to help us in salvation. we
ought to be  for able to live with God and the blessings will give us entry
into heaven. Today most of us have wrong notion of our religion. Will our
religion bring salvation to us ? To get salvation we need Jesus for Jesus alone
has given us assurance that if any one wants to reach to the Father they have
to first reach to him. Inspite of this sound assurance many of us tend to make
mistakes and write their own hypothesis. We are fooled into a belief that is
not true . how can human being give such a assurance of something that he has
not seen before ? How can we talk about the kingdom of God when we have never
seen God on this earth and we will never see him with our mortal eyes ? How can
we stand up and talk something that is not been revealed to us by the Father ?
Does anyone realise the punishment we may receive for this ?What is the use if
we gain the whole world, have lot of money in our bank and we have received all
the earthly honours and in the end we just dissappear into the fires of hell ?
Jesus has spoken of heaven and of hell. He has told us clearly who can enter
into the kingdom of heaven. He has told us who is the  owner of hell. Our egos
have drowned us into the reality of life. Our greed has made us a drunkard. Our
plans to reach the space of the stars have made us what God had not planned and
so the hair of your head will not move without the will of God. Let us make
this body of us a temple of the living God. let us embrace God and let us
praise and worship him. We cannot see God and we cannot see Jesus unless we
allow him to be born in the stable of our heart so let us clean our self form
greed, egoism, pride, filty thoughts and deeds etc.

Those of us studying in Monte de Guirim and have passed outt in 1968 and of
course those who have discontinued for various reasons but are still included
in 1968 batch. Fondly we have named ourselves as Monte de Guirim boys of
1968.Some from these group met today again after a month at Monte de guirim and
when we stood on that hill after a long period of time tears rolled down our
eyes when we saw that we have stood very high on the mountain of life. We began
with the Holy Mass at 11 am Fr.Paul Alvares was the main celebrant of the mass
and we thanked the Lord for bounty blessings all us have received. The group
was little bigger than last time. We had Peter, Alban, Alex, Rozendo,Assumption
Aguiar Aguiar (the great man of monte de Guirim) Tony Lewis, Herman Rego,
Robert Louzado, Albert Goveia, Nogueira,Benjamin Rebeiro,Ambrose,Joe De
Cruz, and most of us had come with our spouses and when our wives stood up on
the hill of Monte de Guirim they were not prepared to come down th
e hill to be back home. For those who do not know what Monte de guirim was
earlier read further. There were about 700 boarders or more. they were of
different sizes and different ages. One man was enough to keep everyone on
their toes. That was the great Fr.Efrem. Of course the other priests also put
in their effort. There were four big domitries. One for the big boys, one for
the juniors, one for those in fifth and sixth. The last one was for primary
.The senior boys woke up at 5.15 am. They had to march out straight to the taps
for wash, wear white pant and shirt and march to the chapel for mass. The senior
and junior boys heard mass together and when this mass was over the other boys
went to the chapel. From there we had to come in a line to the refractory for
breakfast . There were long tables and benches and the tea glasses were placed
in the centre of group six . once seated you take your tea and bread was
served. Take as much as bread one can eat. No wasting. Bread was
prepared at Monte Bakery. Butter jam one had to buy and the same was kept in
safe custody. Then we go back to the domitory to change to school uniform then
march to the study room till 8.45 or one had the liberty to visit the toilet
but not the whole time. after school tea and march to the ground for games.
Then bath either group bath at the well where water flowed from the pipe or
individually in bathrooms at the top or hot water on payment . Then go to the
study at sharp 6 pm till 8 pm then rosary then dinner and at nine sleep. Once a
month a movie was shown to us. Every sunday we were given pork and every feast
day we would get cakes and nice food. That was life at Monte de Guirim. What
every one today remarked was that the priest never thought about themselves.
Their main aim was to put us on a high pedestial at any cost. Unwanted waste of
time , masti was not tollerated. We had dedicated priests who got no salary ,
neither the society got any money from the government. W
e paid 35 rupees a month as boarding fees, and 7 rupees a month as school fees
and many who could not pay must have paid less. We had servant boarders who
paid nothing but they used to do some menial work like sweeping but ate the
same food. We had our own pigery, and buffalo stock. Those who could pay would
get bananas, eggs, milk .There are many who cannot be contacted .Incase you
come across any one from 1968 batch of monte de guirim please inform them about
our activity. Some ofthem have passed away. We have Bing Dias, Fr.Felix Ferrao,
Assis, Jagganath Blaggan who were with us in 1968 but they are no more on this
earth. Like wise we are missing many of our priests who have passed away like
Sir velloso, Fr.Efrem, Fr.Chrysosthom, Thomas Mendonca, Rocha and Fr.Fortunatus
who were our beloved teachers at that time
If any one of you have ill feelings about your monte de Guirim teachers please
do not express. Yours faithfullyAlbert de Souza

The home where Souza lived is like any other village home. I think a

FN Souza or Frank Moraes (Eugene has rightly pointed out that he
deserves a journalism college in his name) and even Alfred Rose was
long denied a State award on the excuse that he was not Goa based.

Images (taken on a hot summer day) of the house where Souza grew up

[Goanet] God and You

2010-11-12 Thread Albert Desouza

Albert writes:- Every moment of our life we ought to bind ourselves to the
Father which is the main tree and we are the branches. We have to give glory to
God and we will receive glory only when He wishes to. In God's kingdom there
are no kings and no scholars except whom God wishes .Many times we glorify
ourselves. Many times we crown ourselves and seek earthly glory. Earthly glory
will cease to exist when the sun goes down .Riches make us acknowledged by
those born in the earth and will return to the earth but the riches that God
gives are eternal. We cannot glorify those which has no life. We can crown
those which cannot move or talk. Our life should be God with us. While we hold
our hands with God on one side we hold our brother's hand the other side. We
have to love our brother who has no earthly riches and cannot pay us back. Many
times we are too friendly with the haves and not bothered to reach our hands to
those who have not. If you call yourself a christian then follow Jesus nd do
not condemn those who are with him and for him for if we are with Christ then
why put barriers ? Nothing on this earth can replace Jesus christ the son of
true God. The bible cannot be replaced with any other form of item which has
not come to us from christ. The bible contains words coming down to us from God
either directly or through prophets. We cannot create history when we are not
kings. If God is our king then the kingdom of God is best known to God alone
and not to his saints or angels. Mary the mother of Jesus called God as her
Lord and so it is our duty to put God on higher pedestal then place Jesus
closer and imitate Mary as the role model of every human beings. Mary did not
ask us to pray to her. She will not  do that. She has told us to do the will of
God and so the will of God stated in Genesis is Increase and multiple and
fill the earth. Mary had concern for human beings but we her followers do not
have any concern for others. We do not care for our parents when they are old.
We do not care for our spouses and we do not love our own children . Then how
can we be Mary's bakti ? Do not be dongis The dongis are pretending to be
very holy. They pray like the pharises shaking their whole body as if God is
sending on them fire from heaven. While we wear white clothes like the earthly
netas our hearts are full of muck coming from the earth . Greed, hatred,
jealousy and pride has been blocking our heart that we cannot allow the word of
God to penetrate into the linnings of our heart. Be born again if your want to
enter the kingdom of God. Nothing except Jesus can save you and those who try
to put barriers between christian and christian by placing mother mary as an
instrument to win your hearts doom to those type of leaders for hell is yours.

[Goanet] God and You O

2010-11-05 Thread Albert Desouza

Albert writes:- Jesus fixed his religion on love. It was love that made God
become flesh and dwell among us. The ten commandments are also based on love
for God and love for human beings. The word love has vanished from the
dictionary. Roman Catholics can win a gold medal for celebrating feasts in
dozen. Every year we celebrate around 400 feasts but our lives have not changed
at all. We speak loudly the words that have no meaning to us. God created every
human beings but our earthly religions have divided us and made us bitter
enemies. Our castes have put big huge partitions between us . Why ? why have we
built such airtight compartments and have grown seeds of hatred between
brothers and brothers sisters and sisters ? If a catholic boy wants to marry a
hindu or muslim girl he has to climb and jump hurdles before he can marry her
or him. So many times young boys and girls have ended their lives because they
are left with no energy to win a battle. so many times the relations have
caused bloodsheds and what not just because the boy selected by the girl from a
particular family is not of that religion. how many of us really follow our
religion as God wants us to follow ? Is the sun not shining on the hindus ,
muslims and christians ? even among the christians we have several demonitions.
The Roman catholics feel they are superior because according to them Jesus
donated his mother to them but the church received this donation only in 1917
when the church was spliting. Quo vadis dommini. For whom did you shed your
precious blood oh Lord when your sacrifice has gone into waste. Forgive us Lord
for not knowing you. Amen

Dear goanettersWe have been generously donating to the church either towards
repairs or new construction or maintainance of the church. Every sunday we
gloriously put money in the collection box of the church. but none of us are
aware that you are not the member of the particular church which you think
belongs to you.The church is registered under 1860 society act. There is a MOU
which is registered in the society. This MOU copy is not available to ordinary
people like me. No body knows who are the ordinary members of the society and
the list will never be made available to you on request. This is the hidden
agenda of the church. So if the particular property is sold it is done by the
managing committee after having it passed in the general body meeting. so why
are you making big noise ? You might have donated the land to the church but
now you are not the owner of the property anymore. You as a catholic is allowed
to use the church and the cemetry for which you have to pay. Albert de Souza

This is with reference to the article posted by Gabe Menezes under the
heading Church Land: Going, going, gone.

Here below is the response to the article which was published in The
 Examiner of October 16, 2010.

 Regards,

 Marshall

The news report under the caption “Church Land: Going, Going, Gone” by
Bobby Anthony in the Mid Day Publication (October 6, 2010) is highly
objectionable and some of its contents misleading.

 **

*The article begins with “… Several litigation and complaints with various
authorities point to murky, illegal sale of Church land by vested interests,
often keeping the community in the dark..”*

I would like to point out that the Archdiocese of Bombay is made up of
around 122 churches, each having a separate trust. The Archdiocese has
always insisted that its Trustees follow civil law, Canon law and the
particular law of the diocese, particularly when it comes to dealing with
sale of Church property or incurring any extraordinary expenditure … The
decision to sell a Church property is made by the local parish to which the
property belongs, i.e. the Parish Priest along with the Parish Property
Committee and Parish Finance Committee comprising parishioners of the
parish. Once they decide to sell the property, the project is then sent for
 approval to the Archdiocesan authorities.

*The article further speaks about an alleged illegal sale of Church property
at Thane and states “(William) Mascarenhas in his complaint has accused that
Cardinal Oswald Gracias and others sold off land belonging to the trust in
collusion with builders and developers for his personal gain, ‘by concealing
the true and correct facts before various authorities’, acting against the
principles and objectives of the trust”.*

The said property was advertised in the newspapers calling for tenders,
objections etc. This advertisement was issued by the then Parish
Priest/Trustee of Thane after following the normal procedure. It is only
thereafter that the proposal came to the Archdiocesan Finance Committee and
the College of Consultors for approval. After this, it followed the normal
legal procedure of obtaining permission of the Charity Commissioner, where
anyone has an opportunity to object. We are informed that the said William
Mascarenhas did not raise any objection at that time. Furthermore, when the
Charity Commissioner sanctioned the sale, Cardinal Oswald Gracias was not
even the Archbishop of Bombay. He was the Archbishop of Agra and had
nothing to do with property matters in the Archdiocese of Bombay. His
Eminence, Oswald Cardinal Gracias, took over as the Archbishop of Bombay
only on December 14, 2006. The above statement of Mr. William Mascarenhas
against the Cardinal is highly derogatory and defamatory and liable to legal
action.*The reporter has also reported than an Administrator is purportedly
appointed by the Charity Commissioner to monitor the financial affairs at
St. John the Baptist Church, Thane.*

This is completely false and a fabrication of the reporter.

*With regard to the church land at Marinagar, Mahim, the article states “the
sale of church land at Marinagar, Mahim, raised a big storm in the
community. ‘Only after we took out a morcha to the Archbishop’s House
recently that they finally admitted that our land was sold…” said advocate
Sodder, who is also secretary of Our Lady of Vailankanni Perpetual Succor
(OLVPS) Co-operative Housing Society at Marinagar, Mahim”.*

This statement by advocate Arcanjo M. Sodder, that the Marinagar property
has been sold, is false and misleading. Perhaps he has been misquoted, or
he is not in possession of the facts, or there could be a malicious intent
 or vested interest.

Somewhere down the line the school thought of celebrating fifty years of the

 Dear Nadine,
I've always found those fiddly malaria tablets too troublesome to administer
 to
children. And if I'm not mistaken their efficacy is less than desirable. I
 have
a daughter and I've always used Odomos which protects her from mosquito bites
and mosquito-borne diseases. Close all doors and windows by six in the evening
and you'll cut down on the number of mosquitos entering the house. There is
 also
a bat sold in India, with a mild current, which is excellent at zapping
 mosquitos.

Other than these minor precautions, you are no more likely to get ill in Goa

   Chillies
   Potatoes
   Pineapples

Also, get rid of the architectural beauties, like the pergolas in the Panjim

Oh, what about the pedestals on which the Jawan/Kisan are standing on at

 (the

the edifice built to commemorate Infante D. Henrique, in front of the

 go
on a rampage a la Fontainhas and break every edifice the Portuguese built and
rebuild Goa in the Indian style and make it look more like what they are used

Re: [Goanet] SELF DEFENCE CATHOLIC ASSOCIATIONS.

Dear readersThe catholic lay people are to be blamed for the mess in the
catholic church. I am refering to the assets and finances of the church. We are
always over generous while giving to the church. We want to make a big show and
many times open our purses to give donations which goes elsewhere. Every sunday
we pour money in the basket. I have never seen priests and nuns open their
purses. In Goa the church is registered as a society registered under the
society act 1860 but till today the church has remain so silent about this
society as what is the name of the society, how many ordinary members it has,
who are the governing body members, who are the minutes of the general body
meeting or governing body meeting. They are afraid that the other catholics may
want to get in this society. We are all left in the dark and we think that this
church is ours, this property of the church is ours and it is our duty to
repair the church etc. That means there is a scam and we are afraid. If tomorrow
our churches are closed the assets can be divided between members of that
society and we the philantrophist will get nothing. If you are allowed to be
burried in the cemetry this society is doing us a favour. Amchem kaim nam. In
Goa we are collecting lakhs of rupees towards mission. Do we have any mission
in Goa ? our missionaries go to foreign countries and when they come to Goa
they boast they are missionaries. it is the duty of Goa church o look after its
sheep who are running here and there for the word of God.The church does not
have obligation to send priests to Africa. When your own house is in disorder
what can you set right your neighbour's house ? Our catholics are loaded with
problems which the church has no time to solve. Divorce is increasing, drug
absuse by youngsters is also increasing. Alcoholism and poverty is increasing.
We have caritas which collects like mission sunday one collection. i have never
seen caritas coming to the help of the poor and the downtrodden. we have so
many under nourished christian families. We have alcoholic problems in our
families. we have unemployment in our families. Does the church feel the heart
beat or the low pulse beat of the poor ? No never. They will screw everyone
when times come for collections or repairs of the church but they will not
spend anything for us. Quo vadis Domino. Albert de souza

Here is an extraordinary story of 33 Chileans trapped in the mines for 69
days before being rescued. It is truly an awe inspiring story and of faith
in God triumphing over physical ordeal. Read on.

 Regards,

 Marshall

The dramatic rescue of the 33 Chilean miners trapped underground longer than
anyone else in recorded history has captivated the world. For 69 days, they
somehow kept themselves alive nearly half a mile underground in 86-degree
heat and high humidity, using a combination of exercise, emergency rations
 and prayer.

Now they're emerging into the sunlight as the embodiment of the human spirit
 - with book and movie deals to follow.

And those book and movie deals are following. The biggest threat the miners
face isn't physical. The rescued have been in remarkably good condition, and
they received medical attention while they were trapped in the mine.

The real concern is their psychological health. The men were low-paid
workers in a mine known for its danger and its safety violations. Now they
have become international celebrities who will be offered enormous sums of
money for their stories - while they struggle with what surely will be a
difficult readjustment to the outside world.

Still, we have no doubt that the government of
 Chilehttp://topics.sfgate.com/topics/Chile,
which spared no expense for the remarkable rescue, will make sure the miners
have all the counseling they need. And as for the money - well, they deserve
all that they can get. Perhaps it will be enough that they can retire from
 mining.

And retire they should. The incident also has pointed out how pitiful mining
safety standards can be, especially for small operators. The Chilean miners
wouldn't have been stuck for 69 days if the owners of the mine had followed
 legally mandated safety procedures.

The United States http://topics.sfgate.com/topics/United_States, too, has
work to do. Earlier this year, an explosion in West
 Virginiahttp://topics.sfgate.com/topics/West_Virginiaresulted in the
 deaths of 29 miners.

It's important to celebrate the incredible story of the Chilean miners. But
it would have been better had they not been trapped in the first place.

[Goanet] God and You

2010-10-12 Thread Albert Desouza

Albert writes:- Catholic religion is a religion of words. While our words speak
one thing our actions show another thing. The common hymn in the church says
Ami soglim ek. meaning we are all one but in reality we are divided based on
our caste. While Jesus clearly says I am the truth , etc etc we still do not
know what is the truth. While Jesus says The Father and I are one who ever
wants to reach the father should come to me, yet we believe that saints and
Mother Mary will take us to Heaven. While Jesus speak of Heaven and hell we
have created Purgotory. While we ought to have believed in the Almighty God we
have given him a mother. Now the question I want to ask the learned Where is
God ! is he in the church alone or is He with us where ever we go ! While Jesus
has taught us the Our Father we have created a rosary which makes no meaning.
Repeated prayer even God won't understand. I have never seen a priest reciting
a rosary in the church during Novenas. I have never seen Priests bringing our
lady 's statue and doing what they tell us to do. While St.Paul tells us about
not having statues in letter to the Romans our churches are full of them. They
are been carried during processions and at the end of the journey they bless us
with the lifeless statues. So I want to ask this question to those who can
answer them. Why was there a God who created heaven and earth ? who created
life on earth and is Power unto Himself and who told Moses I am who am and who
gave Moses the ten commandments and while the very first commandment speaks
firmly of God's Power I am the Lord thy God who is our God today ?

Re: [Goanet] Padri Pulitikent Kityak Poddtat?

2010-09-29 Thread Albert Desouza

Dear Goanetters
Priests should remain far away from politics and politicians at least for time
being. They should work for the benefit of the lay people whom they represent.
I have seen lots of Catholic youth unemployed or under paid and however hard
they try they do not get sucess in life and live a poor and unpleasent life.
Most of our churches are huge structures and have plenty of rooms which collect
dust. If priest along with the lay get together and use these vacant rooms to
start some business for the lay people where someone can earn his daily bread.
Most ofthe women folks know cooking, etc stiching etc. The church can help them
to start either some classes or small scale industries. Many times people in
the locality for various reasons do not get time to cook, go to the bank etc
etc may be they are sick, old or have small children. Many times we see working
mothers have lots of problems to look after their little ones and pay so much
for useless maids. These small scale industries can plan out various projects.
One project where woman get together and make kitchen items like sweets,
pickles, or food stuff. Others can market or sell these products. Why do we
need priests to get in politics ? It does not serve the people in any way. What
I have written may not be too clear for everyone but I hope some one has
understood my message. albert

The crackpot piece of writing above is incredibly funny and ironic. Here is a
man who blatantly abuses Hindus and Indians because of their beliefs and
practices in almost every incoherent prattle he posts on Goanet and
elsewhere. And he has the gall now to attack me with his broken English just
because I spelled the Konknni word for jaggery in accordance with how I
pronounce it in my Konknni dialect.

The fact that the Konknni word for jaggery is also spelled exactly in the
manner that I spelled it, i.e. god is clear from the following link:

 http://indianfood.about.com/od/glossaryofterms/g/gud.htm

 The pertinent quote is:

Also Known As: Gaur, Gul, God, Gur, Bella, Bellam

I have now seen at least 3 men on Goanet who are inciting hatred against me
among Goanetters who hold their particular religious beliefs and speak their
particular dialect on Konknni, using this god spelling canard as a pretext

Who do they think they are? Guardians of a theocracy that has banned all
other dialects and spellings of Konknni words, except theirs?

 Cheers,

[Goanet] God and You

2010-09-23 Thread Albert Desouza

Albert Writes:- Roman Catholics must try to read the Bible and ask God to grow
your wisdom to understand God and His only son Jesus in a better way. By
putting Mary as a armour before God will not help you in any way. Accept God as
your heavenly Father and know that He is the power, and He is the everything in
your life. Build up a relationship with God instead of putting your faith on
dead statues. St.Paul to the Romans says we should not make statues of God in
any way. It is mentioned in the first chapter. I wonder when our learned
leaders will be enlightened by the Holy Spirit and will start preaching the
word of God instead of telling us foreign arabian stories. It is a shame that
we are zero with the bible. We only know what is given in the daily focus.
Sunday reading is rarely understood by anyone because we do not have he bible
with us for reference. While verbally we talk of Jesus Christ as our saviour in
reality we still adore paganism. None of us know what we are praying and to
whom we are praying. There is no reason in calling the other denominations as
inferior products because they do not celebrate Mary's feast as we do and there
is no need to put other religious belief down and harp that we are having Jesus
Christ alive in our churches. Today instead of becoming confused with our
beliefs why do we not take the bible and pray with the Bible ? why don't we
learn to accept Christ as our saviour ?

Sir
We often talk about God. Many people have guts to talk about God and many say
that God does not exist or try to find out if God really exist. Had God to show
only one inch of His power we would not live to ask whther God exist or not.
God is powerful than the sun. When Peter James and John saw one inch of Jesus's
transfuguration he felt down completely dazed and I cannot explain the
phenomena that took place so please give God His Glory instead of making fun of
Him.

[Goanet] Corrupt politicians

2010-08-29 Thread Albert Desouza

Politicians are corrupt. How many of us are completely honest ? Many people
snore at work place and grumble at their boss. Those in the government offices
attend religious services or temples early in the morning but never reach their
work place in time or do not wait there for long. The file will not move from
their desk or will be found missing because the owner of the file failed to
give tips. The list is numerous. Politicians have become corrupt because we
have made them corrupt. There are many of us who support corrupt politicians
because they help us in many ways to get on with our crooked ways. The least is
endless. It is foolish to talk about politicians because if you find them
corrupt why do you vote for them ? Today our roads are very bad. We grumble but
we will not come together and go to our MLA and demand that the road should be
repaired with urgency. Now we will sit in the balcony
and talk and talk but it is mere gossip. Get together and put some mud on the
potholes or plant some trees there .

[Goanet] God and You

2010-08-16 Thread Albert Desouza

Albert writes:- If only we had understood the meaning of God and His
commandments, His power, His love we would not have our life like we do today.
In today's life we find external drama but internally there is a vaccum because
God does not live within us. Hatred has replaced love. The first commandment
which orders us to serve only the true God has been replaced with false gods.
Do we have peace within us ? No never without Christ. Just look at one another
when you enter the church. Gloom has descended on us. We are totally strangers
to one another. Even at the time of offering what is called peace we gracefully
behave as enemies or totally strangers. We like to point a finger at others.
Many times the ministers and MLAS are our target. We feel hurt because
catholics are shown as drunkards. We cry heaven to earth when we see a cross
broken but if one had to see that same cross before someone broke it one would
see the cross looking shabby without any colour. No one has even time to honour
that cross .Why do you cry from roof tops and from mountain cliffs because it
is broken ? we see crosses solemnly erected along the road side which are gone
black after the rains. No one honours those crosses nor light a candle. why
make a big show ? Heart of heart we have no reverence to God. We pray to Mary
mother of Jesus not out of love for her but what will neighbours feel I have
joined the believers if I do not attend the novenas. For us novena of our lady
is just another ritual. Pray the rosary with the lips keeping the heart else
where. At home one finds people making a big show with the rosary. some will
use it like a necklace while others will throw it all around the house. We do
not know the value of the Bible. Many of us do not posses a bible and many of
them have never opened a bible. Are you a christian then !I doubt. Christianity
was never founded. It came down from heaven through christ. Roman Catholics
cannot call themselves as Christians. Their mode of prayer, their mode of
living, their mode of self is not that of Christ. Christ just preached one
thing. Love God with your whole heart and above all things and love your
neighbour as Jesus has loved us. Mary did the same. She did God's plan and she
had concern for others. Those who shout Ave Maria from the roof tops are
liars if they do not have concern for others. Take a blank page and write if
your history and find out if you are follower of Christ or even follower of
Mary.

by giving us just that one commandment Love your God and Love your fellowmen.
How wonderful this world would have been. But no. We want to chose our path
which goes away from God, away from fellowmen and we are ruled by greed,
hatred, pride, etc and so the blood that Jesus shared for us is going waste
because it was love that made God become flesh, it was love that made God
create this beautiful earth and put in beautiful people in it and it was love
that made God forgive us all our trespasses on earth. God is ready to forgive
all of us only if like prodigal sons we are ready to go into the embrace of the

meaning of the word of God and the value of the Bible. Today many Hindus have
begun to read Bible. I met a Hindu woman who without asking came to me and
started to speak about Jesus. She told me about the beatitudes and about Paul's
letter to the Romans. I did not react violantly because I know the value of
God's word.Jesus has told us to spread the gospel. For Roman Catholics it is
only theoritical and not practical because we do not mind talking about

times we console ourselves by saying that Jesus has given us his mother who
will save us. Catholic Religion is just a hollow religion which does not
contain any aerodome to allow landing of plane of love and where there is no
love there is no God and where there is no God there is no peace and when we do
not have peace we cannot achieve salvation. Jesus has clearly said I am the

your religion has been founded by Christ and you have every right to enter into

you do not lose happiness in heaven because you refused to accept Jesus through
the Bible. After death there won't be any of these so called leaders to back

2010-04-27 Thread Albert Desouza

Albert writes:- Roman Catholics do not show reverence to the Holy Bible and if
they did they would keep it on a pedestrial and lighted a oil lamp to show that
it is the word of God. We know very little of the Bible and do not want to know
it either. The church has shown very little interest in the word of God and I
often wonder which heaven are we planning to enter !Many times people try to
tell us about the bible but we are always suspicious of those people who speak
about the bible. To capture heaven Jesus must be born in your heart and your
body must be the temple of the Holy Spirit. We care so much about the material
church even though it is closed and no one visits them, What if these unwanted
and unused churches are converted into some small scale industries. what if I
send my proposal towards this ? There will be hue and cry and people will start
abusing me and call me essentric etc. because we do not know the meaning of the
word church. My body is the temple of the living God and that is so if few of
us gather under a mango tree and pray won't that form a church ? We are so
worried about feast which are meaningless but we do not care for our brethrens
who are starving. We celebrate birthdays and other days in a grand style but we
have amidst us those who have no shelter to live and are sleeping in the open.
There are some who eat only once in a day and have knowned hunger from
childhood. Are these not the children of the living God ? are only Roman
catholics children of the living God ? Will only Roman catholics reach heaven
and what about others !Some one told me to go to heaven we have to be baptised
but what is baptism ? How many of us know that they have received baptism ? did
we receive baptism of the holy spirit ? are we born again the word that Jesus
himself used to tell us that we have to be born again meaning we have to change
ourselves from what we are and follow christ. Jesus has given us assurance that
if we want to go to the Father we have to come to him and no one else. How can
we believe in someone who has not seen the father rather than believe in the
one who has seen the Father ? What is going on in our lives is a tiatr .

Albert writes:- If only if we had  realise that Jesus is the Hub of our
Christianity we would not be going away from the creator. Its high time we make
use of the Bible as it contains the word of God. No other prayer can be used as
a substitute for the word of God as it is the food of the body and food of the
soul. Much damage has been done by our so called spiritual leaders by creating
in the minds of human beings that Mary can interceed for us and that she is the
queen of heaven. Wearing rosaries and reciting rosaries we are only creating
hurdles in the pathway to Heaven. We are in no way superior that we have entry
to Heaven and we have no right to despise others because they do not recite
rosary and attend mass. God forgive those who cannot forgive themselves.

2010-03-27 Thread Albert Desouza

Albert writes:-God being a creator of everything on earth and heaven suffered
humilation when He became man. God had to take shape of his creation and become
Jesus. He did all this for love of man. What did man do ? murder the creator
the healer etc. Did God put a crown on his head ? did He put any title or
subtitle against his name ? When Moses encountered God at the burning bush, God
just told him Iam who am. He did not boast about himself each time He spoke
either to Moses or Abraham. Today man was prestigeous title against their name.
They want earthly crown on their heads. They held their heads in pride to show
superiority and boast of their being elected or selected .We will be
celebrating Good Friday on this Friday. We did it last year too. We will be
staging a tiatr at the church ground where image of Jesus will be crucified and
people will be crying and shouting and mourning and the next day that same
Jesus will be forgotten forever. Jesus gave us just two commandments. Love God
and Love human beings. Our tiatrs will have no meaning if our hearts do not
acke for the fellow man suffering physical or mental or spiritual tortures.
There are many unhappy human beings on this planet. They have been deprived of
their happiness by other fellow human beings. Some of them have been cheated,
or their happiness is killed by others. They too have right to live and right
to love. Many youngsters will be there who are deprived of parental love for no
fault of theirs. Their parents have given them tons of notes but no morsel of
love. They are roaming from Cafias to Pontius Pilate to see if they can buy
love with the notes that they have. Many parents who have spent all their life
carrying burden of tortures for their love ones depriving their own pleasures
and happiness. They have toiled and moiled from morn to evening just to gain
happeness for their offspring and now they are tortured in the homes for the
aged. They get enough food and the nuns take lot of care but what love they
expect from their offspring cannot be given by the nuns. The nuns try to make
these old people happy but they are not. The children of those unfortunate
parents will be celebrating Good friday with fasting and mourning and by
wearing black . Hypocrites.

Albert writes:- God so loved the world that He was prepared to die for us and
so He took a body form and created Jesus who became man and called himself the
son of man.Jesus always loved his father and respected Him.The whole
Christianity is based on love. Love from God to Man and love of man to man.
Jesus abridged the ten commandments into just two simple commandments. Love God
with your whole heart and love each other as Jesus has loved us. In what way
did Jesus love God ? He loved God and it is because this love for His Father he
ventured into this mission on earth. Jesus did not bother about the thorns that
would poke him, or the stone poke while walking with the cross or the
scouraging he would receive. He was concerned to wipe out the sins of humanity
and to bind the bond of love between man and man. The greatest pain the Jesus
is still suffering today is because the bond of love uniting man with another
man is broken. It is replaced with hatred .Today one man is not ready to look
into the eyes of another man. He does not love another man at all. There is no
love between husband and wife .They are ready for a divorce . No love between
parents and children. Between brothers and brothers or sisters and sisters or
brothers and sisters. There is no love in the world at all. That is the reason
our newspapers are filled with the stories of rape and murders. Our court
folders are filed with cases of divorces and other lithigations which could
have been avoided if there was love existing between people and people.

2010-03-07 Thread Albert Desouza

Albert writes:- Moses saw a burning bush and went close to it. He heard God
talking to Moses but the later did not see God. In the old testament God spoke
to certain people. He spoke to Adam, He spoke to Abraham, Moses etc .You think
God does not speak to us ? where do we have time to God ? Our prayers are from
the prayer book. Our prayers are tailor made which are just coming out from the
mouth without any meaning. We say angelus, Rosary etc etc but does this prayer
connect us to the Lord ? a big NO. In today's world we do not have happiness in
our heart and most of us in this world are in despair because our hearts do not
touch the Lord. We are not bound with the Lord. MY subject is God and You. IN
chemistry we have bonds explained by putting dots or dashes. Lets us learn to
put God - You . The dash signifies the combination or tying of a cord of love
with God and in that case you do not have to despair. Our body would not have
been a sick body only if we had laid our thrust with the Lord. God is our
loving father. He brings peace into your life, your family. when you want to
pray as a family open the bible and pray using the psalms . You will find that
the Holy spirit will fill your heart with love for God and you will be in
praise and worship and the words will just flow from your mouth without any
problem. The lord is my shepherd, I shall not want anything more that He gives
me.

2010-03-06 Thread Albert Desouza

Albert writes:-Let us draw four columns and try to fill in. In the first column
we write God then in the second it is Jesus, third it is Mary and fourth it
is you. God is our creator. He has built a relationship with his son Jesus .God
was always happy that Jesus was binded to God the Father and in his mission The
Father was always sought for help and blessings. In the life of Jesus his life
was that of simplicity and free from pride and hatred. He was in relationship
with Mary his mother and lived with her for thirty long years. Jesus christ was
a true missionary and worked honestly to spread the word of God among the jews
and the people who sought to listen to the word of God. Mary was the mother of
Jesus. A humble Armenian lady who obeyed God the Father and did her utmost to
fulfil God's plan. It was God's plan that Mary should bring Jesus into the
world. It was not God's plan that Mary should be elevated to the status of God
as today the church has done. She loved her fellow people all around her
begining with Joseph who was her  husband, Jesus who was her son her cousins
and friends. Her concern to the bridial couple when they ran short of wine
speaks volumes of her generousity and love for others. Her mission got over
when she stood at the cross to see her son die as per the wishes of God the
Father. Last is you. Do you have a covenant with the Father, son, Mary and the
rest of the people in the world ? Do you do God's plan ? find out

ash wednesday and Good friday. I do not know how others fast but as a child i
remember that we were forced to fast. This is what we did on the fast day. Eat
one or half bread in the morning without butter, have our regular meal in the
after noon and half meal at night. I do not understand the meaning of this type
of fast. Some others ate cunji on the fast day. I feel if someone really want to
fast they will stop eating till six in the evening. When I attended a retreat
at Potta Chalakuddi, kerala, we had one day fasting. It was optional. Those who
fasted went without food till six in the evening. That was actually fasting. In
today's world we need to fast as many of us are far away from Jesus.

Albert writes:- The Holy Spirit works wonders in us. Jesus did not start his
mission without receiving the Holy spirit. We all have to receive the Holy
Spirit in us if we want to be vibrant. At the baptism of Jesus the Holy spirit
came in the form of a dove. At pentacost the apostles received the holy spirit
in the form of tongues of fire and then the apostles became fierce as a tiger
or leopold. We need to receive the Holy spirit within us. Our body is the
temple of the Holy Ghost and if that is so one must know to respect our body
and the body of others. When we sin we drive away the Holy Ghost from our body
and request the satan to take possession of our body. If you believe that your
body is the temple of the Holy Spirit then you will not allow your body to
receive hatred, pride, envy etc which will harm the temple of the Holy Ghost.
One should avoid speaking evil of others. One should avoid having hate feelings
and avoid being proud. Let your self be as simple as possible. Like Jesus who
washed the feet of his disciples we too should bend low and touch the feet of
our brothers and sisters.

Albert replies to Fredrico Noronha:- The church is a registered body registered
under the society act of 1860. Its name and members and the governing body is
kept a secret. This society works with the help of Fabrica whose members are
also selected by the governing body. This society forces the parishioners to
sponser every thing that the church needs without spending a pie from its
account. People mainly lay people feel that it is our church and when you give
to church you give to God and so they donate. This society has been taking
undue advantage of this belief of the lay people. Huge halls have been built,
libraries etc etc . We grumble that the church property has been sold by the
parish priest but in reality it is sold by the managing committee after passing
a resolution at the general body meeting. There are selected lay people who are
members of the governing body of this society but the church will not disclose
their names. Surprisingly even many of the priests are unware of this society
.Our priests are poorly paid. Half of the money is sent to the bishop house (to
this society in secret) many priest feel that if they pocket some percentage
from the amount it is no sin. Many times a large donation is given in cash
which they tend to pocket. so the reason to have big bank balance and lux.
cars. and rich living. There are still many who are in the remote areas whose
sunday collection is peanuts . Some churches the sunday collection is around
five to six hundred rupees  a sunday.what happens to the money which goes from
the church is not known to us but it is manipulated and accouted.

Albert writes:- Let us draw a comparision with the life of catholics with that
of Christ. Jesus Christ was always obedient to the God's plan. For him the Plan
was the cross. He had to first carry it on his shoulders for other's sake and
then shed his precious blood and with the blood a new religion of love would be
born. The religion which Jesus Christ founded was very simple. Love God with
all your heart and love one another as Jesus has loved us. Yet we find this
religion so difficult and so harsh to follow. Those in prayer boast of their
holiness yet far away from God's love and love for human beings. God has given
us just ten commandments which would bind us together with God and bind us
together with fellow human beings. We have never tried to hold the cords
together that bound us with human beings so how can we unite ourselves with God
who is not seen by us ? God loves you and His love is unconditional yet we
distance ourselves from Him by indulging ourselves in serving
gods that have no life and cannot help us. Jesus always treated God as His
Father and obeyed all His commandments. He united with the Father from Manager
to the Cross and always did what the Father wanted him to do and that is why
God himself declared that Jesus was His son in whom He was well pleased. Jesus
always received the Holy Spirit the force that was required to preach the word
of God. Today Rosary has replaced the word of God.

Albert writes:- One must know to give reverence to the Father. St.Paul writes
in his letter to the Romans that we cannot give more reverence to the creations
than the creator. God the Father is the creator and He has created number of
Creations to whom we literally adore. In our daily prayer we do not invoke
God's blessings. Today we see lot of sinful ways going on in the world because
we have have sinned against God and broken the first commandment. I do not know
what will the Judgement on the last day. what if we are kept on the left side
where we shall be gnashing our teeth and blaming this one and that one ? what
if Jesus tells us that he does not know us ? Change your life. To change our
life we should have a desire to do so. We should be born again to receive the
Lord.

Albert writes: I cannot understand the big noise of R.Catholics about fasting.
Everyone talks about the fast on ash wednesday. when we get up we have a nice
breakfast. We must eat less- today is ash wednesday fasting day. then in the
afternoon we eat rice with fish- today is fasting day eat less. In the evening
we have a nice dinner. Today is fasting day eat less. what is the big noise
about it ? all tiatr and khell tiatrs . Jesus fasted for 40 days. The bible
does not speak how he fasted. He never told or ordered his disciples to
fast. Why does the church order the christians to fast ? why it is published in
the newspapers ? because this fast is a first scene of our tiatr. When I
attended a retreat in Potta they requested us to fast one day. It was optional.
Those who were not fasting could get coupons for food. We went without eating
till around 5 pm .There were prayer programme as usual but less in number and
people prayed .we only drank water and at five in the evening we broke our
fast. Since it was voluntary it had a meaning. The Lord Jesus said There is no
need to fast when the bridgroom is with you. Those who fast are not followers
of christ because they are anxiously waiting for the second coming when they
are not satisfied with the first coming. I always pray to Jesus that his second
coming should not have a crown of thorns on his head and a crucifix on his
shoulders. His first coming was a waste of time because love is replaced by
hate. unselfishness is replaced by selfishness, pride and greed. God has been
replaced with idols. Crown of thorns by crown of pearls. Stable with palaces.
wooden stool with a rich throne. Who is your God today ? is it a human being or
the spirit of God ! If it is human being or earth that I should say you will
die and go down along with the earthly crowns. Don't we find palaces sinking
down in the earth in the past ? Choice is yours.
