Be Careful of Agents propogating the Hidden Agenda on GOANET

I have been off Goanet for a while now. I feel the frontbenchers out there have
literally created a holiganised approach and shout down any good point being
raised, and so also good writers – God help the voice if it tries to expose
hidden agendas of several vested interests that have infiltrated into the
system and are trying to divide Goa.
However, Goanet has had the privilege of having some real sensible writers…who
make a point unbiased. But as is the case mostly, there are several empty
vessels who try to label them as the biggest fools and bigots, thereby exposing
the hollowness of their own minds.
One such source (who is a master of fake ids and all fake propaganda, and is a
champion of ‘crying wolf’) even links ids of people and labels the original as
fake writers only to try and run them down in unprintable language – which
largely shows the integrity of such a source, his background and his core group
which he is associated with.
In the recent past eminent personalities like Dr Oscar Rebello, Selma Carvalho,
Fredrick Noronha, Alfred Tavares… and the list is endless… have been targeted
and maligned.
The Goans in Goa and in the diaspora are well aware of who is behind such
fanaticism.
Then there is a group who retorts to writing derogatory mails and clandestinely
picks up ids from Goanet and mails them such thrash.
There have also been attempts to push viruses in my mailbox through various
fake ids, dummy writers claiming to be from Goa trying to coax me to write
against the establishment and also various so called intellectuals trying to
guide one to promote the hidden agenda. On closer scrutiny, it was established
that such persons never existed, raising a big doubt about the man cowardly
hiding behind the mask.
Recently, several friends of mine forwarded me mails form one source that
appeared on Goanet. And I was neither shocked nor surprised; in fact I was
happy – very early in life I had learnt that one can’t expect mangoes from a
coconut tree.
Those who lie down with the dogs, wake up with fleas on them.
Before making such prejudiced judgments, I wish the empty source should have
the guts to write to the people how he has offered himself (for a price or free
of cost) to be used to push the hidden agenda, how he has tried to pour trash
in people’s ids (including mine), how he has been exposed by me all through and
that has provoked his ageing anger and I had the gall to byline all those
posts.
I have been open in my writings – from a leader of opposition to the chief
minister – I as a journalist and a brave Goan son of the soil, has had what it
takes to write my name against any mail, in praise of or critical of the
system. So any creature belonging to the human fraternity would use a little of
his or her brains (if it has any) and know the answer to the recent accusation.
But I understand the pangs of being exposed and bravely countered can be fatal
on any such creatures. It can burn them!
This is not a clarification, I don’t owe any to anyone, but trying to let all
my friends on Goanet and in Goa, UAE and the world over that such attempts to
malign someone who have been doing his bit for Goa do not effect me,
nonetheless they make people like me more bold and brave to encounter these
Johny-come-latelies.
Thanks to all fellow Goans who wrote back to me. I am glad I have such good
friends in you all.

Major Hill cutting at Aquem-Margao

There has been a major hill cutting opposite vishant theatre at aquem margao.

The entire drain has been blocked and the roads are full of mud due to the
constant transportaion of mud in the trucks which are not even covered.

There have been constant traffice blocks due to the movement of trucks in the
area.

However, no authority in power seems to have noticed this.

It is a shame that this is hapening in our own CM's constituency...but we are
aware that if informed our CM will always says...it has not been brought to my

[Goanet] Mathany -- Walking the communial tight rope?

2009-05-12 Thread cedrico dacosta

Mathany -- Walking the communial tight rope?

I was shocked to read in the papers the recent spate of attacks on religious
places...what happened at the temples in Cuncolim is really shocking and it
exposes how vulnerable the various places of worship irrespective of caste and
creed are to such cowardly acts.

Strange is the silence of Goa's CM, who is enjoying a good holiday in USA out
of the good money he might have made.

On Good friday a cross was vandalised at Malbhat(a BJP stronghold), Margao,
close to the CMs Margao residence, when the cross committee visited the CM,
they wre told not to make a big issue of it, and were promised help to rebuild
the cross, according to those who were part of the delegation.

A few weeks ago another cross was vandalised close to Meenaxhi Hotel in the
heart of Margao City. Again, no culprits were brought to book by the ever
vigiliant Margao cops.

No politician however big or small even offered to comment on the above.

Today, I see a big write up in the Herald, about guess who? Mathany
Saldanha against desecreations of religious places...

It is a good stand no doubt but if we go by the recent records wherein the
UGDP, Mathany's party openly opposed the issues of burial grounds for Muslims
in Goa.
Mathany never deems fit to raise his voice against cross descrations...also!

So definately is Mathany walking a communial tight rope?

I leave it to the public of Goa to judge such elements...

[Goanet] Contributions of Valmiki

2009-04-22 Thread cedrico dacosta
Contributions of Valmiki

We have been noticing some recent discussions from certain vested interests on
Goanet, trying to raise the issue of contributions to GOA! I initially choose
to ignore the same as there is no point in adding my hand to the already
boiling khichdi that is being cooked -- Goanetters know the authencity and the
malicious overtures of the persons who have raised these questions. At times
it’s better to ignore jokers, at times it makes sense to give them a laugh --
because they at least try to make you laugh!

I do not know the contribution of Digamber Kamat to Margao...forget Goa! All I
know is that he is a hard core politician, who can dump the Congress for the
BJP, then dump the BJP for the Congress and who knows what next...from the time
he was a mere councillor from my ward to this day, Digamber Kamat's
contributions to society outweigh his many hidden or exposed sins against his
own people, specially the minorities at Margao. But I will leave it to the
electorate to judge that.

And as Valmiki says -- there are no saints anymore!

I believe charity begins at home -- and a person who cannot cleanse Margao
CANNOT take care of Goa!

What Margao is today (a big garbage hole) is a fruit of labour of Digamber
Kamat's many years as Margao MLA...The Margao of today is a criminal heaven,
littered with garbage, stray dogs, prostitutes, bad electricity, water
shortages and unplanned growth of the city...How many more years will the
migrants of Monti Dongor bail out Digamber at the hustings is to be seen in
time.

Avduth Timblo although in the prosperous yet polluting mining business has I
guess contributed to Goa to some extent. Knowing the Timblos from close
quarters and being my good neighbours at Aquem...everybody knows!

Valmiki Faleiro!

I seriosuly feel that Valmiki's contribution to Margao and Goa outweighs many a
chief ministers who have let the commercial city go to the dogs...

In those formative school years in the 80s, every school going boy and girl
from Margao knew who Valmiki Faleiro was...the hard working Mayor who looked
after the city well. Its unfortunate that after the likes of Valmiki, not many
have added much colour to the honourable chair of the first citizen of
Margao. The generations of the 80s will know how Valmiki then the
most efficient Mayor of the Margao Municipality had worked hard to ensure that
the Municipality functioned and the workers were not on a permanent paid
holiday but worked hard to ensure a civic sense to the city.

Unlike today, the stray dog menace was under control -- there were not much
open gutters -- garbage heaps were not a common sight and there was a general
feeling that the city had a hard working and caring God father in the Mayor.

Of late Valmiki -- being the efficient journalist who has walked the talk as
far as Goan politics and public service is concerned is more active with his
Sunday coloumn on the Herald, still doing yomen service to the public, not just
of Margao but of the entire Goa. Those who understand his writings the satire
and nostalgia he loads his coloumns with will know how many ministers and
public servants he has been exposing -- I know.

Is'nt that a service to the public. We all shout hoarse against corruption, how
many of us have the guts to pick up the pen and write?

Yet, this man refused to fall to the lure of being offered a ticket by some top
political parties. A hard core fan of one of Goa's top parties and quite active
on Goanet some time ago had personally phoned me on several occassions from
London to hunt for a good leader from Margao to take on the excisting
establishment. Just one name came for discussion -- Valmiki Faleiro! I would'nt
say more!

I guess there are people around who crib and cry for mere foolish reasons.
There are also people around who tend to scratch the leg when the arm
scratches. It is said the pig cries when taken for rearing as well as for
slaughter!

Today, chamchas of politicians see from just one angel -- the aam aadmi is
fooled to believe that doing public service is to hold a ministry in a corrupt
government! Being a corrupt political leader is not being a public servant, but
a servant of his own family to ensure enough riches are looted and plundered to
secure a good future for his own generations...are there any good politicians
around who work for the people today?
Show me one!

Such clowns are best ignored and left to do what they do best – jugglery! I
wish brave and intellectual individuals like Valmiki Faleiro continue to do
what they are doing. Those who understand their works -- good for them, those
who dont -- tough luck!

I guess all of this has been triggered since last sunday's coloumn wherein
Valmiki dared to pinpoint a dummy candidate being put up at the south Goa
parlimentary elections.

I would not only suggest he is a dummy candidate, but a surrogate one, aided by
the two

[Goanet] Restoring Margao's Lost Glory

2009-03-22 Thread cedrico dacosta

An edited version of my mail below was published by THE NAVHIND TIMES
(Goa) edition dt. March 20, 2009, found at:

Restoring Margao's Lost Glory.

I do remember the days when parents would take us kids to the Margao Municipal
garden to play on sunday evenings. Those were the days of glory at Margao.

The garden park used to be well kept, clean to an extent and there were a lot
of slides and swings and also remember catching my first glimpse of a live
crocodile out there...

Then, there were real hard working Mayors at Margao like Vasudev Sarmalkar,
Gajanan Gaundalkar and later Valmiki Faleiro. Somewhere in the early
eighties...Valmiki was the mayor. As in the NAVHIND TIMES report dated 13th,
March, 2009, people still remember the way he strove above
all politics, culture and religious divides to give Margao good civic
governance.

Co-incidently, Valmiki headed the council whilst today's top politicians like
Digamber Kamat, Babu Azgaonkar and Mama Cardozo were as Councillors taking
their first steps in the political arena.

And although Goa lost a promising politician in Valmiki the moment he quit
active politics after his stint as the Margao Mayor, it is very heartening to
read Valmiki's articles and columns in the local dailies specially the Herald
Mirror every sunday (also read on GOANET), where he takes us on a nostalgic
trip of Goa's politics, history and culture.

Even ages after that, today, it was heartening to read in
the dailies about the acknowledgement of such worthy sons of
Margao. Will Margao have mayors like Vasudev Sarmalkar and Valmiki Faleiro,
when the post of the mayor has been reduced to a
mere object in the game of musical chairs?

I wish the new mayor, Mr Savio Coutinho who has inherited all the mess will
show some promise in cleaning it up and soon the people of
Margao, specially the children will have a clean and healthy
environment to play on sunday evenings at the municipal
 garden.

Backstabber Parriker seeks MGP Support

Goa's backstabing leader of opposition -- the man who is well known for
changing his statements much faster then the Goan chemeleon -- the man who
excels in the art of unsuccessful coups through the back-door for bringing down
democratically elected Goan governments -- the man who turned a blind eye to
the communial zealots in his party that went on a rampage against the minority
community whilst he was the Chief Minister -- The man who termed Seby a
Naxalite -- The man who today acuses casinos/mining to be illegal, while it
still was on in full swing while he was in power...today wants the MGP to
support his nefaro=ious agenda at the lok Sabha elections...the same MGP he
cold blodedly backstabbed some years ago to mark the saffron march of the
communial zealots into Goa...

Today, Porriker is portraying a picture of a man lost at sea and has no agendas
whatsoever and is trying to woo the minorities by playing issues like kabrastan
issues.

It is sad while the BJP in Karnataka is opposing charlie champlin's statue
because he was catholic, the BJP in Goa is trying to reach out to the

[Goanet] Did Narendra Modi Play Communial Card At Margao?

2009-03-06 Thread cedrico dacosta

As appeared in the Goa Observer...feb 28, 2009 edition:

Did Narendra Modi Play Communial Card At Margao?

Did the BJP play a communial card last sunday 15/2/2009 at Aquem, Margao where
the much hyped public rally of BJP's fanatic Narendra Modi?

The rally was held at Costa grounds at 10.00am on the same day when the newly
constructed parish church of Aquem-Alto, dedicated to St Sabestian was to be
inuagrated by the Archbishop, Fr Philip Neri Ferrao at the same time.

The inuagration of the church was attended by cross sections of society and
people of all faiths including a large number of hindus and muslims along with
their catholic brethren.

While at the same time barely 200mts from the church inuagration Narendra Modi
and his BJP cohots like Manohar Poriker were propogating the communial agenda
of the BJP.

The church inuagration mass was attended by CM Digamber Kamat and South Goa MP,
Francisco Sardinha, although many in the congregation questioned the
undistinguisehd presence of Sardinha, who comes to Aquem on two occassions --
1. to adress his election meetings, ad 2, to show his face to the people of
Aquem before the eve of any election to the Parliament.

And while Digamber Kamat was attending the holy mass solemnised by the
Archibishop, Porriker was spittling venom on the current Goa cm from the BJP
pandal.

Also, the councillor from Aquem, Kamilini Poinguinkar choose to be on the dias
of Narendra Modi than attend the inuagration of the church, where most of her
voters were present in huge numbers. Speaks volumes of communial flavour of the
BJP.

Most of the people of Aquem and Margao at large have seen through this as a
play of the communial card by the BJP.

It is sad that a person of Narendra Modi's reputation is even allowed to enter
the state of Goa and address the secular and peace loving people of Goa.

I forsee the BJP south parlimentary election candidate losing his deposit, even
if the Congress this time field a rookie.

A BJP loss is a forgone conclusion as teh Goan electorate are quite smart to
reject and trash any communial agenda.

[Goanet] Parriker exposes his dirty spots yet again …

2008-10-20 Thread cedrico dacosta

Parriker exposes his dirty spots yet again…

Goa’s most disgraceful LOO, the self-styled RSS-bakt, and Goa’s most communal
former Chief Minister -- Manohar Parriker yet again gave Goans a glimpse of his
dirty spots last week.

It is a shame that Panjim constituency has an MLA and Goa, has an opposition
leader of such a despicable caliber. Parriker displays from time to time,
mostly by his double-speak -- a total bankruptcy of morals, ethics and values
and is not hesitant to take the already soiled political image of Goa, further
down the roads and onto the gutter levels.

As, Goa was rocked by violent attacks on places of worship, an alleged rape by
a son of a minister on a foreign national and the attack on two social
activists (?), Manohar Parriker seized this as the best opportunity to get back
to his one-time political deputy and partner-in-communal crimes -- the current
Goa CM.

The frustrated rantings by Parriker (long out of power despite, two dubicious
back door attempts to dislodge a democratically elected government by the Goan
electorate) in the media, exposed that Parriker would go to any levels to get
mileage or cheap publicity by all means to salvage the slumped image of his
communal party and himself.

Despite sharing the bed, pillow and blanket in cosy weathers with Babush and
ditching him when it suited him, Parriker, exposed to the electorate of Panjim
constituency that he still needs the support of Babush to ensure he saves his
deposit at the next assembly elections in Panjim. Parriker, instead of
commenting on the accused, not only directed his tirade against the CM, but
refused to raise an accusing finger on the present education minister, who we
all know aided to ensure a smooth walk through for Parriker at the last
hustings.

Today, Parriker is pretending that he is feeling the pinch of the detoriating
law and order situation in Goa, when he should remember that while he was the
CM – Goa witnessed the worst types of communal violence since its liberation.
Public memory is short; it is often said, but not as short to remember the
infamous acts like forging a signature of an MLA(Philip Neri) to claim his
support to cling to power illegally of a communal government that was
prematurely kicked out of power, and deserted by its own MLA’s headed by the
revolt of Digamber Kamat.

Secondly, in the turbulent week that went by, Parriker, as is his famous
habbit, tried to ruffle muddy waters in Margao Constituency. Despite having a
long honeymoon with Digamber Kamat, while he was his man Friday in the
communial BJP and knowing all along the dynamics of politics that goes on at
Monti Dongor, Parriker played saviour along with Digamber to its residents –
all in the greater glory of the BJP and its communial agenda. In the recent
past Parriker cheered at Digamber’s every victory in Margao – mainly due to the
support of the meticulously cultivated vote bank at Monti dongor under the
saffron umbrella – those days are not far gone behind!

Moreover, now since the residents of Margao’s infamous slum refuse to
acknowledge the communial teachings of the likes of Parriker, suddenly the
colony has become a heaven of criminals as per Parriker.

Knowing well the ground realities of Margao’s detoriarating living conditions,
Parriker had the cheek to comment on the Monti Dongor slums who until recently
were an out-an-out BJP vote bank, nutured ably by Digamber Kamat through the
high blessings of Parriker whilst he was the CM – a fact even a minor child of
Margao will not deny and never forget. To Digamber Kamat’s credit goes the fact
that the residents of Monti Dongor, whom he has godfathered like his own
godchildren -- will vote for Digamber even if he changes his election symbol to
hand from the infamous saffron coloured lotus, a fact politicians like Parriker
hate to digest.

There is not much difference between the CM and the LOO. Not at least in
Margao. Both have played dirty politics and the result ensured that Margao
constituency and its constituents suffered terribly. In short – Parriker should
shut his dirty trap before making any comments on Margao!

Parriker should make sure he directs all his energies on his Panjim
constituency and ensures that his constituents are happy with him out there and
leave Margao alone, unless if Parriker is feeling insecure of being defeated in
Panjim and is considering contesting the next elections against his bête noire
at Margao.

Parriker has neither love for Goa nor Margao. He is hell bent on spreading the
virus of his masters at the RSS, VHP, the Delhi-babus headed by the Rath Yatra
- Babri Masjid demolition fame -- Advani and the Gujarat poster-monster --
Modi’s cause. He has tried hard to sow the seeds of communalism, dirty politics
and hatred – which are seen through by the electorate of Margao, who ensued the
defeat of the BJP and will do so at the comming elections yet again.

[Goanet] Goans Beware of VHP, BJP

2008-09-03 Thread cedrico dacosta

Dear Goans,

If you have been following the recent attacks on minorities, we would
definately ask the question in ourselves -- are minorities safe?

It is the same vested interests belonging to the VHP and the BJP -- chief
patron being Lal K Advani -- the father of all communial violence in India.

There are many Goans that have aligned themselves to the campaign to bring back
the BJP in Goa.

Many front benchers have been hired to sing hossanas of the communial facist
leader of opposition Manohar Porrikar, under whose reign Goa witnessed the
polarisation of voters according to religious lines and under whose reign Goa
witnessed a sudden spurt of communial violence.

Dear Goans...the time to think is now...with elections round the corner,
secular peace loving Goans should not only think of chasing the communial
elements out from Goa, but also voice their support to ban the communial
frontal organisations and the BJP as a political party.

What to do with their communial virus spreading non-leaders...i leave it best
up to your judgement.

Time and again, specially in Margao, the communial elements have exhibited
trailers of how they want to turn Goa into a gujarat or Orissa

Wake up dear peace loving Goans...

[Goanet] Orrissa Communial Violence

2008-09-03 Thread cedrico dacosta
Recently one poster posted this question on Goanetviolence in
orrissa...what were the cops doing?

the answer to that is simple -- they were doing exactly the same when Manohar
porrikar as the home minister and Goa chief minister was doing when minorities
were attacked in Goa when he was the chief minister and india was under BJP
rule...coincidently Advani was the union home minister...

Still there are vested interests who are trying to spoil the communial harmony

[Goanet] Communial Tension in India...how far is Goa?

2008-09-03 Thread cedrico dacosta

Communial Tension in India...how far is Goa?

We have seen full fledged communial violence in Goa...thanks to the fuelling of
communial sentiments by the brigade.

Margao has on many occassion escaped being turned into a Gujarat or an Orissa.

And on all the occassions the hatred and the violence was fuelled by the same
elements owing allegiance to the BJP.

So is Goa far from orissa and can the BJP in Goa including its leader manohar
porrikar gurantee Goans that if he comes back to power (obviously through the
backdoor)minorities will be safe?

Goans must unite and be vigilant of the vested communial elements who are out
to destroy the social fabric of the country...unfortunately such goons are
present in Goa...

...and their spin doctors and paid propogandists are very much present on
Goanet...

I wonder if this time around Goanetters will get to see photos pasted on Goanet
which would show the violence against on minorities in India.

Politicos, hands off civil society

Well, Fredrick... brace yourself well in the days to come… neither are you a
member of the ‘brigade’…nor are you (if I may guess right) on the pay roll of
the out of business’ politicians… in Goa and India! And neither are you a
carrier of the ‘hidden agenda’ virus…nor do you carry water, I say water not
urrack to the blasters at the mines.

The Chief Reporter’ and bum chum buddy has long taken retirement from Goan
journalism I understand…’ but many Johnie-cum-latelies have taken up the task
to ensure they hit a quick saffron jackpot, which is always in the offing. So
in Goa we do not have ELLO Journalism but true-original-SAFF-R-ON journalism.

Today, if you do not patronise the photus of the ‘Save Goa by Promoting the
hidden agenda through photu-exhibits’ then you are a dumb fool, maybe you could
even be a ghantti 9saiba bhogus amkam!) …you are the worst unprintable word in
the Oxford and any other form of the dictionary and gentlemanly vocabulary may
permit. Somehow, some gutterish posts slip the moderators on Goanet like
Mulitharan’s doosra may deceive a Tendulkar…

I am more confused than the Canada-based humorist who took a dig on me recently
on Goanet…confused to jam my fingers at the calculator to actually forcest the
bottom-line of the income or call it in political terms…’party funds’ or legal
extortions… the already suffocating exchequer of the out of power forces…could
profit by the formation of 500 NGO’s…well, imagine they pass the traditional
hat to collect the ‘’khote sikéys’ after every meet… and imagine they organise
charity concerts --- given the fact that some fading self-proclaimed
Nightingale could lend her aging and caloried voice, free, for the cause and
the mine-owners (poor poor chaps, of late harassed by the Naxa-Lights!) could
pay off handsomely to seek self defence or self protection against the Sebi-es
that show promise to be deadly than rabies on the mines of Goa).

Poor Parashuram, must be wondering what made him shoot that unfortunate
arrow…Poor Goa! Poor Geemkar! In time the Niz-Goemkar will be known as just a
myth like the Rakhno…only on a Photu!

First, the gharso-dollencho Dotor, then the famour boy-designer now it is
definitely you Fredricko…its your turn…and of course you have much in common
with the first two…Serpent Ivy or Poison Ivy is waiting to sting you with the
best available venom…so watch your backside, no not from the boy, but from the
mid-boys!

Perhaps you are fancing to migrate from Saligao and contest the next elections
at Ponji…a long walk that…and you will definitely be tired and thirsty…but be
careful…the tap water at Ponji is contaminated…Beware, the camera focus has
marked you now...u are a marked man!...but dont worry...this is just a hidden

[Goanet] Thinking about Political Violence

2008-06-25 Thread cedrico dacosta
Dear Goans,A well annalysed article by Jason K Fernandes. True, as he states
the only disgusting actions Manohar Porrikar did as leader of opposition is to
stage two unsuccessful coups to overthrow a democratic elected government and
throw Goa into political turmoil. Good for Goa that the MLA s responsible saw
better sense and till date Goa has a government. As a leader of opposition
(LOO), he has failed to come out with constructive issues, except hurl
allegations and try to hide the sins of his past government. It shows that the
LOO has no intentions to be a people's representative and trap the ruling
government on its many failures, but busy himself with toppling bids to ensure
that he grabs the seat of power of the CM once again, through dubicious means
despite fittingly being routed by the electorate.Instead of being the voice of
the opposition, the LOO has chosen to be the voice of the mining community and
that shows the clean nexus of the LOO and
the mining powers, which is detrimental the interests of Goans.in fact as
Goans are slowly but surely realising the evil and selfish designs of
politicians like these, it is the people themselves who have started to group
themselves. If at all any group of late acted as the voice and ears of the
Goans, it was organisations like GBA and nobody else. Then too, feeling the
heat, several vested interests tried to sobatage the peoples movements like GBA
and hurl baseless allegations against those who were trying to raise to heights
in public service and leadership, specially in the Panjim Constituency.  It is
a shame that a leader of opposition should stoop so low to instigate the masses
about baseless allegations like the recent Naxalite charge. The role of the LOO
is not to be an instigator, but to be the voice of the people against the
shortcomings committed by the ruling dispensations. Goans -- as they are know
the world over to be a patient lot has
exhibited tremendous patience thus far...about the future...time will tell...I
feel that LOO has no moral right to hold the responsible post and must resign
immediately. The people of Goa have time and again been patient to this
double-tounged politician and his many nefarious activities to destabilise the
governments. The activities resorted by the leader of opposition  to cling to or
grab power at any cost clearly shows that he is ready to go to any levels in
the future to dislodge any government which is not headed by him. Watch out for
his next gimmick! It is time the Goan masses, who are at their best in a state
of mass awareness and awakening...see through the evil designs of politicians
of this caliber and show them the door at the next hustings...It is time for
new young fresh faces in Goan politics...Cedric da CostaUAE

Going soft on Narvenkar

Even after being framed in a scandal involving
corruption of a high degree...Narvenkar still
continues to hold the finance portfolio in the current
ministry.

That any of the current 40 legislators from any of the
parties in Goa have any ethics and are purely driven
by greed of the kodel is a well dramatised fact.

I feel that in a democracy, it is not only the party
in power, but also the opposition is to be blamed if
such corrupt people are continuing in power.

We take great pride in trying to blame the chief
minister and the ruling congress...but open your eyes
wide...see if the leader of opposition is doing his
role well...

See the logic...the opposition goes up to the
president to seek the removal of a governor...but goes
soft on a framed minister of the ruling party...

At the height of the alleged molestation case that
featured the same minister...it was the guts of the
then leader of opposition ramakanth khalap, ably
supported by the students lobby that led a defiant
narvenkar to finally budge in and resign...

Today, nobody seems to go for Narvenkar?

And all this assemblies and mobs claiming to save Goa?

First step to save Goa is to get rid of tainted
ministers...but then if that happens..there are hardly
any among the current 40 that are not tainted?

flung on the GBA and its blue-eyed captain makes
sense...run down the existing champion and through the
'backdoor' promote your own group...goans are well
aware of the 'backdoor'promoters in
politics...why...please...why can't these people do
anything in broad day light...why are these midnight
operators always insecure to open their agenda to the
masses than thrive on a hidden one?

Why cant the verdict of the people be accepted than
infuse defections and create a legislator made govt
than a voter made govt?

GLA -- Goa Legislative Assembly...from my
ever-so-confused understanding means the assembly of
legislators...democratically (unfortunately) elected
by the Goan voters...legal...democratic (i say once
again)...it may have congress, bjp, independents, ncp,
etc etc etc...
the venue is the red-roofed assembly complex at
Porvorim

GPA -- Goa People's Assembly ... I understand is an
off-shoot of a different colour ...formed to save an
already destroyed or raveged or raped Goa...from whom?
and whodunit? somehow, the same individuals ...oh
sorry...saviours...oh...environmentalists...oh!
sorry...photographers, artists, NRIs, aam aadmis who
contributed to the success of the GBA ...once upon a
time -- till it was cut by a coloured tainted
knife...sliced into two...two colours...two
sides...what guarantee is there that it will not
follow suit like the GBA...time will tell...

Looks like save Goa is a big business...in Goa...so we
will see more fronts, andolonists, photocars,
phampleeters, chorus boys, front benchers, cheer
leaders join in...

Looks like there are several silent investors
investing in fronts formed to save Goa...posh
hotels...nice snacks...nice media coverage...who pays?

Instead of going to the battlefield...one can give the
elan-e-jung from a posh a/c hotel...that too...which
belongs to a top mining magnate itself...but then
blame it on the monsoon...i do no wish to spoil my
foreign equipment to this bloody monsoon...its raining
too heavily outside in Goa these days...lets do
it...from the inside! Goans are fools anyway...what
anybody can take them for a ride...anybody...even a
...

Where is the agenda? Goa for Goans or Goa with Romi
Koankanni...Goa with tambdi matti or Goa with coloured
matti...

Save Goa's coast or forests or language or culture or
cuisine...what...the people representatives have a
good apetite...we've discovered of late...

I understand that Goans have given a verdict at the
opinion poll...recently at the assembly elections we
again gave a democratic and legal verdict by electing
40 (gentlemen) to safeguard our Goa and its future,
language, culture, heritage...

We rejected the troublemakers and elected the real
leaders...

so why on earth do we need a Goa People's
Ass-embly...or a Goa mob assembly?

Next we should have a seperate Assembly
building...proxy MLA's...as someone
'wisely'suggested...not 40 but maybe 420 MLA's...

Saving Goa is not about rushing to a building site
with a camera and a group of people...save Goa by
saving its language -- koankanni, its secular people,
its beautiful cultural and Indo-Portuguese history and
heritage...

Save Goa by cleaning the garbage...not a sermon from a
podium in an a/c 5 star hotel...

Save Goa by destroying the communial elements and
promoting the communial harmony of this beautiful
land...

Save Goa by saving yourself from falling prey to the
vicious game plan...

What's with Goa's Law Ministers?

The law minister in the previous BJP government led a

The Congress Law minister who has a very tainted past

Digu has no b to dare touch Narvenkar...

-Sharad pawar should sack Narvenkar

After the infamous ticket gate scandal, Narvenkar got
away, the then BJP government did very little to nail
him when they could.

The public re-elected him, thereby giving him a green
chit...

Digambar Kamat, in the mother of all ironies trusted
this scamster and loot-marist with the finance
portfolio...

Goan politicians are strange bedfellows...they flock
with their types...congress bjp...there is no
difference...

It has been too long since the long hands of the law
caught up with narvenkar's race of corruption...

It was a shame fo Goa and Goans to tolerate
Narvekar...but Digamber Kamat and the high
command...despite openly revolting by supporting his
brother's non congress campaign at the last
elections...gave him a new life and a prized
portfolio...

Today Narvenkar has not only shamed Goans, his
community and Goa...it is a matter of great shame to
India, BCCI and to Sharad Pawar that such a corrupt
person should be a vice president in the BCCI...

Like i wrote before...its time for the people to burn

 ?
Stringent punishment is meted out in Mumbai to those
found drinking and driving and in case someone is
killed, 10 years in jail.? This is very welcome and
has prevented most drivers?from taking their cars on
the roads after parties. Breath analyser tests are
conducted if drivers refuse to admit that they have
 been drinking.
 ?
The road accidents in Goa are alarmingly high in
 proportion to the?population and I feel that?legal
 measures preventing? drinking/drugging and
driving?are absolutely mandatory. The?speed at which
people drive on narrow village roads is alarming
high - everybody thinks they are in Monte Carlo.?
Specially for the bhaille drivers, it is a haven..
 ?
Please ensure that attention is focussed on this
very important matter in Goa Net.

then he sold coconuts

now the signature campaign?

If one remembers how the BJp under Porrikar faked

[Goanet] Gulf Goans Support

2008-06-14 Thread cedrico dacosta
Dear Arwin,

As a fellow Goan working hard in the Gulf, I totally
agree with your writings...but i guess somewhere you
contradict yourself...

*** --- you complain about localisation in the Gulf
--- well why not? the country doesnt belong to us, but
we are allowed to come here and work, nobody called
us, we came for our own benefits...

that's why i guess we are here...Gulf Goans! as you
call them...yet we are expats here...accept the fact!

so you are still allowed to come and work in the gulf,
start a business etc...all fair!

*** --- in your post you also talk about -- saving Goa
for Goans?

so when it comes to your land...you sing a different
tune?

Apply the same logic...work out the math...

Cedric da Costa
Dubai

1. Gulf Goans Support (Arwin Mesquita)

Gulf Goans today face many difficulties i.e.
 declining living standards,
localisation, reduced savings etc. Many contemplate
 leaving the Gulf soon.
We must take strong interest on Goa's Identity,
 mega-projects, corruption,
mining, destruction, alarming outsider land sales,
 uncontrolled migrant
influx etc. We must work with residents to save
GAroa
 for Goans; including
future generations. Gulf Goans can help Goa
 significantly; if only we wake
 up immediately and think positively/constructively.

Have we lost hope/belief in ourselves/Goa? Our home
 is in region (including
 China) where the economy is booming vs. others;
 education (all layers)
medical are getting international respect. Rich
 nations are targeting our
region as the future; there is strong demand for Goa
 by outsiders and
strangely today, we have on a large scale Entire
 Well off Gulf Goan
families migrating; abandoning Goa; selling off
 properties!! Are we really
a short sighted community in general; lacking a real
 long term vision? How
much wealth is really enough? Is so much migration
 really relevant today
and does it not influence the erosion of Goa's
 Identity? Are western
societies really better off as a whole? Think about
 identity/value/family
issues that our future generations will face; or is
 it just the
 materialistic things that interest?

Let's stop complaining looking only at all the
 negatives of Goa, which are
just excuses for our reluctance to act or to justify
 today's debatable
migration. Surely, Goa also has positives vs. other
 societies. We should
start from the positives, address the negatives and
 see how we can together
make Goa, the place we want it to be. I believe we
can do it, if we just put
our heads together and look at what we can do and
 not, what we cannot do!!
After all, there is no place like home.

[Goanet] Of Congress and BJP ...things to think about seriously...

2008-06-11 Thread cedrico dacosta
Of Congress and BJP...things to think about
seriously...

GPCC president -- Francisco Sarinha -- brought down
the ruling Congress govt to tie up with BJP to give
them the first taste of power...

Goa's Chief Minister -- Digamber Kamat -- revolted
against the Congress as was denied the official
congress ticket...embraced BJP...was the main BJP
warrior to propogate the Saffrom agenda and was
commander no 2 in the BJP which carried on the
communial agenda to destroy the secular fabric of
GOA...untill he suddenly felt suffocation and rand
back to the congress oxygen...(money)

Half of the Congress ministers and MLA's are
defectors...i would leave it to the readers to comment
on the less significant congress cum BJP men...

So the equation is that congress=bjp and vice
versa...you scratch my back and i scratch yours...

i guess it is time for the people's power to come out
and contest elections and show the door to the
national political parties that are taking us for a
ride...

While the congress is a total failure as a ruling
party...the BJP (less said the better of it) has show
us that as an opposition it is more weak than in
power...

I guess it is time Goans wake up...every village and
city to project thier own candidates...push away the
corrupt or communial forces and replace them with
fresh faces...

[Goanet] The Other Side of Rape

2008-06-11 Thread cedrico dacosta
The Other side of Rape...

Rape is a strong word... a strong action of a weak
mind...

Lot of posters have posted on Goanet shouting RAPE
loudly and clearly...

But as many posters put it...and as we have observed
that the people shouting Rape are actually trying to
hide a hidden agenda to Rape...

The rape of goa as it is projected has been going on
since decades...it is the same rape that started with
the construction and mining boomnothing new...its
just that some new fellows are seeing Goa being raped
and have suddenly woken up to an old fact...

But in the race to shout loudest the word rape...the
actual rape of Goa and its ruling government is being
tried to push under the carpet...

There are many other types of rapes happening in goa
through the backdoor and alas...the flash light of
cameras is too dim to capture it...Rape is also
happening in the hidden propoganda and the hidden
agenda...the loud shouts are used to throw a blanket
on the Goemkar's mind about the sins of the past
governments that ruled goa...

Goans beware...the true colours of vested interests
are seen by one and all...Goa was being destroyed ages
ago...not just by the current government...by focusing
my biased lenses on the failures and shortcomings of
the current ruling dispensations...i may not be able
to hide the sins of the past governments...

[Goanet] Congress-BJP hand in glove to destroy Goa

2008-06-10 Thread cedrico dacosta
Congress - BJP hand in glove to destroy Goa

But for a few barks within and outside the two
national parties that are jointly destroying
Goa...nothing else is being done...

Pro-Congress and pro-BJP supporters are fighting each
other like sunnem-mazor on this forum...

-- while some resort to sending personal mails, some
threaten, some claim so and so is marked, etc...

I would like to present the bare fact before the
Goemkar...If congress is aiding the builders why is
the BJP as the main opposition silent? Why is porrikar
not in a position to create a mass awareness like GBA
did to the Goan public?

If Digu is aiding the mining lobby to destroy...why is
the BJP silent or looking the other way? Why is
porrkar as the leader of opposition leading a movement
against the mining lobby?

They say that there are drug cartels operating in
Goa..but neither the congress nor the opposition BJP
are interested in liberating Goa from the menace...

The above shows that Goa is caught in between the
devil and the deep blue sea...the Goa may burn by
falling from the frying pan into the fire...

Many sing hossanas of the BJP while denounce the
Congress as well...some are so confused and so
fanatic...they make absolute fools of themselves...

A certain group --- and all know which one -- also
tried to show Goanet that the party belongs to highly
placed intellectuals like dotors and engineers living
right from the Bahamas to the Bermuda
Triangle...slowly they disappear and their foolishness
gets exposed...

I say the ruling party can loot and plunder only if
they share the spoils with the watch dog...in this
case the opposition party...

Barking dogs bark from a distance...hungry dogs also
bark...

So Goans must make up their minds who is the
enemy...the robber of the person who is wathing the
looting of Goa with closed eyes.

I feel Goa must go for a third force...a peoples
alternative to check the rampant corruption...the
people's might must come out...contest elections...and
drive the current breed of politicians away...the
looters and the corruptors are not only the ruling
MLA's but all 40 current legislators are involved in
sharing the spoils of the plunder...

And I am sure the aam aadmi of Goa will agree with me
100% on this...

[Goanet] Goacentric Political Party

2008-06-06 Thread cedrico dacosta

Well Anesimo...the options before Goans are thus:

(1) Congress = Corrupt around 60% secular

(2) BJP = corrupt 500% communial...shameful past
histroy in Goa

(the equations as of today : there are more BJP men in
congress who are saffron tainted...) so there is no
originality...tomorrow congress is in power, saffron
MLA's jump over to grab the crumbsif BJP is in
power...its vice versa...such is the pathetic
political scene in Goa...its a joke!

now choose...

its like the devil and the deep blue sea...

what Goans have seen in the many decades of congresss
rule...was enough to get them re-elected...what the
BJP with its RSS and Bajrang dal activists showed was
shameful and may never repeat again in Goa...

True Goans do not want Goa to be turned into a
Gujarat...

Regional parties come to being on the eve of the
election just to break into some party's votes and are
often financed by a rival national party who has the
money power...

the common intention of the forces that float regional
parties on an almost fly by night basis...is to
extract a ransom...there are many who did and are
today enjoying the fruits of ransom at
elections...some even went ahead to get an election
countermanded back in the 80s...

eg:

(1) Save goa...supported and financed allegedly by the
BJP to break into congress...a year down the
line...see where is churchill...yesterday morning
churchill was opposing mopa...by noon he is holding
the mopa file close to his chest...what happens?
people loose...Goa looses...

(1) UGDP -- where is it?

(2) Goa congress -- Extinct??

(3) MGP -- on gas support!

(4) Goa Suraj -- yet to open a legislative assembly
account!

So you see...what will the Goans choose from?

I guess Goa is not as huge as other states in India
with strong regional parties to call the shots...

The way things are going like it or not...the next
comming years will belong to the Congress and the
NCP...the NCP is the underdog...Dr Willy is always
full of surprises and is a seasoned master
politician...so expect more surprises from him in the
comming days...the BJP will deminish due to its own
doing...

and after seeing the debacle of the regional parties
in Goa in the recent years...will Goans, specially the
huge migrant vote bank vote for a Goa based
party...not in the next 25 years...you think regional
parties have a chance among the Goan electorate?

The votings trends in Goa are to vote at least an
independent but not a regional party candidate, cause
ultimately the govt at the centre will always play
around with a regional party if it comes to
power...then what...all development stops!

think again...

by putting a regional force, it will only dent secular
votes and give unsecular elements power on a platter
which will be the last nail in the coffin for Goa and
Goans...

[Goanet] Hell Descends on Pilerne --

2008-06-06 Thread cedrico dacosta

Hell descends on Pilerne -- Frederick [FN] Noronha *

Well said Fred, after seeing that many forums have
failed to create an impact and give a boost to the
hidden agenda of the trouble makers and gossip mongers
and the wolves the so called saviours have chosen
photo-journalism by giving it a destructive tinge.

But, however, the cat is in a fantasy world that the
rat has changed its stance against it and will begin
to trust the cat when it tells the mouse that it has
turned vegetarian!

Get my point…several times on Goanet…a strong effort
is made to create a panic situation about the ground
realities of Goa…by focusing on conversions and
construction ills, the real behind-the-scene to
communialise Goa or to destabilise the governments or
to induce resignations to support toppling bids is
being hidden.

The various rantings of so called guardians of Goa’s
churches and chapels and trying to create an aura that
the chapel or the church is in danger is only a way
of spreading falsehood and trying to provoke the
catholics against a particular party the minorities
may be sympathetic to as opposed to the ideology of
the communial elements.

But try they may and get a national or an
international award of falling on the battle
fighting…they cannot change the mindset of the
re-charged Goan…it is not the propaganda but Goans are
waking up to the fact that there is a hidden agenda
riding dangerously on the back sides of the
photographic evidence produced.

If the saviours of Goa are interested in focussing
their ever so powerful lenses of imported nature on
the issues of Goa…why don’t they start with
Panjim…Cortalim…Monti Dongor at Margao…

There is no need to go to a forest and photograph how
a tiger has pounced upon the rabbit...expose the
destruction when Goa’s very cities are in a mess.
when the hyneas have laid seize on Goa's top villages
and cities...specially Ponje, Vasco and Margao…capture
that in your smart lense and expose…

Like I said before…if Peter is a land racketeer and is
supporting a defection to suit my interest to regain
power through the backdoor…I choose to call him a
regional or national HERO…

But if Paul is a pro-Goa activist and is not getting
involved in a defection or toppling game…oh my Good…he
is a rogue, traitor, rapist, plunderer…and whatever is
bad is associated to him…

Even a pre-primary school kid can see through this
nefarious agenda…

[Goanet] If Dotor Oscar is a Judas....then...what is ...?

2008-06-04 Thread cedrico dacosta
If Dotor Oscar is a Judasthen...what is ...?

Mails, posters and pamplets galore from the saviours
of Goa all over...

Soon there will be VCDs circulating and photo
exhibitions organised in every slum on how the green
eyed Dotor betrayed...

rapist, molestors, chaddiwallahas, lungiwallahas,
kashtiwallahas, topiwallahas, suitwallahas,
dhotiwallahas, tiewallahas, chappelwallahas all sung
the chorus in perfect harmony...

moles, kismore, parro, soles joined in...

seasnakes, vipers and malunds also hissed in...

the koles, heynas, cheetas, chemeleons and the rabid
dogs barked hard and loud...

The cries outdid the onsetting of the monsoon and the
thundershowers...

the now almost extinct frogs croacking in the few
fields of Goa went unheard... in the ensuing din...

the anthem was ...dotor bab is a Judas...

GBA which originally meant Goa Bachao Abiyan...took
several different shades as it suited the painter...

It was not M F Hussain, but Niz Goenkars who painted
Dr Oscar's heroic pictures a few months ago...

-- now they painted him in the nude...and nobody
protested...

till date several guardians of GOA are working
overtime to drill holes in the GBA ship...so that
diluted water enter the ship and it sinks...another
ship sinking on the Goan coast??/?

Surprisingly if the fanatics have their way...Dotor
Oscar must be persecuted without a trial...he must be
burned like a
narkasura...crucified...stoned...kicked...yes...he has
no right even to add Dotor to his name, despite his
best degree in medicine...

his eyes give out...he is a traitor said the roadside
jury...they went all out to track his roots and family
tree...

Alas... i agree...and request all and sundry to agree
to thee...but until proven guilty...he has a right to
be...

And if the chorus boys are so keen to kick him out for
ONE alleged goofup...how can the same chorus boys try
and convince Goankars to forgive and retrieve Porrikar
for his many sins...

surely the rule of the land applies to all...and is
equal? and has to be...it better be!

If one Oscar be damned for life for one sin...how many
lives should we the Goans damn the current politicians
for their many sins?

The Oscars came to be...because of the sins of the
past and present politicians and the public mistakes
of electing the corrupt beings...

Wake up Goans...Tom McMohan said...everybody wants to
help save the earth, but nobody wants to help mom do
the dishes...apply this to the Goa saving guardians...

now common knowledge.

The last elections threw some surprizes...await
another one -- watch how those that got lucky will
bite dust...Goans have or are slowly waking up to the
ways they have been traditionally played with...the
worst politicising of Goa was the dividing of it on
communial lines...

All these empty vessels that are making the most noise
these days are actully camouflaging the actual hidden
agenda...you think any government elected to power or
comes to power by the back door (like BJP excels in
this game)...will actually drive the land sharks away?

Its just that Peter is jealous that Paul is in power
and is trying to bring him down so that he can grab
Pauls power and all the loot that comes with it...

The intelligent Goans are realising this very
fast...and also realising the fake propoganda of the

Open question to Mathany Saldanha

1. has the mehta strips factory at cortalim turned to
producing non-poluting materials?

till date several villagers from Loutoulim, verna,
cortalim and vasco who were bullied by Mathany to go
to the forefront of the anti-mehta strips agitation
are suffering haressment and have to go to the courts
to attend to the cases against them...their main
instigator --who we know led the agitation to
ressurect a sad failing political career -- ditched
them the day his personal political ambitions were
achieved...worst still he chose to tie the knot with
the saffron brigade...

the anti-mehta strips agitators were sent to the front
to face lathis and persecution by the police while in
the dark of the night their leader did a turn
around...

can Goans trust such sad politicias who have no ethics
whatsoever?

see what happened ... he didnt last another

[Goanet] Beware the Goan media! Breaking Nooj

2008-06-01 Thread cedrico dacosta
Surprisingly we never heard any expose of the media
when Porrikar was in power and when he literally tried
to suffocate the Goan media with his fanatical and
communial leadership...

the same media houses were running the newspapers in
Goa when the saffron brigade played havoc to divide
and destroy the peace loving secular people of Goa on
communial lines...the media then were super kings!

has the media in Goa changed colours yesterday or last
month or have certain vested interests changed the
colour of the lenses of their reading glasses...

i think there is a good business prospect of starting
a new newspaper in Goa...

with the current newspapers and media persons being
labelled so lowly..definately there is a lot of scope
in starting a new newspaper with new media persons
could be recruited ...so fresh avenues in the media
may open up for reporters, gossip mongers and
photographers...

good luck Goans...

[Goanet] Goa's Irrigation

Goa's Irrigation : Valmiki Faleiro

Brilliant! finally someone out there dared to write in
detail (expose?) on the manner in which Goa's
haphazard irrigation system is planned.

It only showed that since the 80's and till date the
agricultural sector in Goa has been highly mismanaged
and inbetween successful engineers (specially
outsiders), PWD and agricultural ministers have made a
huge buck by fooling the public of Goa.

The selaulim dam is as everybody knows a huge state
blunder and is often reffered to as a white elephant.
And surprisingly till date, there is no hurry by the
government to start the parallel water line.

Margao has experienced several water shortages --
thanks to the record number of times the selaulim pipe
line has burst.

Well written Valmiki -- who else but a person who has
walked the talk through a celeberated journalistic
career and then as the margao mayor would enlighten
the current generation better on the acts of ommission
and commission that led to the selaulim pipeline
disaster and also the slow murder of the irrigation
system in Goa, specially the stron south Goa...

[Goanet] Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajasthan Royals and the Goa connection

2008-06-01 Thread cedrico dacosta
Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajasthan Royals and the
Goa Connection

When the first ball was bowled on April 18, 2008, at
the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, India, in the
inaugural match between Vijay Mallya’s, Bangalore
Royal Challengers and Shahrukh Khan’s, Kolkatta Knight
Rider’s…the first ever Indian Premier League(IPL) got
off to a flying start.

History was created! The gentlemen’s game will never
be the same ever again, not in India of course. And
many a great cricketers of yesteryears and long gone
from the surface of the earth, would have definitely
turned in their graves, at this latest avatar of
cricket.

Yet again, in yet another sphere of sports – India
showed the world that it could…and the World took
notice and respectfully watched as the eight
franchises were created and the top cricketing names
in the world of cricket came together along with the
best of upcoming Indian talents and the already
accomplished grand masters of the game.

A lot of money changed hands; many firsts were
achieved. Indian cricket came face to face with
bollywood, with corporate houses, with the moneybags
and television channels literally fell over each other
to be part of this great league.

Today, we watched the most consistent Rajasthan Royals
-- underdogs at the beginning of the tournament --
lift the cup. Astute captainship by one of the five
‘Wisden cricketers of the century 2000’’ – spin guru
-- Sharne Warne…with his super duper performances
reasoned out why he is still considered the best name
in the game.

And if the IPL victory should inspire him to make an
international comeback, Ricky Ponting willing, the
world would get another opportunity to watch this spin
legend in action again soon.

After improving in every department of the game
through consistent victories and learning from the
mistakes through the few loses suffered in the IPL,
Sharne Warne, displayed superb leadership and team
management and steered his boys to a last-ball victory
tonite in Mumbai, over the much-fancied Mahendra Singh
Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings.

Mid way into the IPL when Jaipur came under terrorist
attack…Sharne Warne and his boys were taking a
breather in Goa…Warne and the rest of the Aussie
brigade, almost rattled by the blasts and security
concerns were about to take the next flight back home,
but better sense prevailed and also the faith in the
Indian establishment not succumb to the savage acts of
terrorism saved the day for the IPL. Can anyone think
of an IPL without Sharne Warne or any of the other
Aussie players who contributed so much to its success?

The victorious Rajasthan Royals Goa connection is no
secret. Goa’s ace Ranji player, the young and dynamic
opener Swapnil Asnodkar, hails from Porvorim. The IPL
has opened the doors to an exciting career in cricket
for the like of Asnodkar. Several young players from
Punjab and the backwaters of Bengal and other Indian
states got an opportunity of their lives to rub
shoulders with senior cricketers like Ricky Ponting,
Sharne Warne, Stephen Fleming and Pidge…John Mcgrath.
To observe and learn and improve.

And Asnodkar with his gutsy opening batting took on
the world as he single handedly went after the best of
bowlers in the twenty-20 format of the game. Captain
Warne has left no occasion go without commending the
team effort of his boys and the flying starts to the
Rajasthan innings throughout the IPL which Asnodkar
provided.
‘
Ravi Shastri, smartly described Asnodkar as the ‘find
of the tournament’at the final presentation.

For his heroic on field performances I think Goans
need to give Swapnil Asnodkar a standing ovation as he
heads home to share the successful story of the
interesting IPL tournament and the secret of the
success of the Rajasthan Royals.

Three cheers to a young Goan cricketing genius…may he
travel far to exhibit to the world his many cricketing
talents.

Rape or Blackmail?

After reading so much on Goanet about the alleged rape
of Goa...I wonder if all the noise created in the name

blackmail...

If one goes by...only certain constituencies and
ministers are targetted...those that could be of help
in any future toppling bid or who have been party to
toppling bids of Digu's current congress government
get away from the Lord's lenses...

Goans must be aware to see beyond the hidden agenda to
obstruct the growth of Goa by terming it rape...it is
not a rape but a systematic blackmail of the
government or of ministers to keep them on the run...

The recent attacks on the GBA convenor Dr Oscar by

proved the hidden agenda of these so called modern day

Please look beyond carefully what is actully cooking

i read in today's a BOLD statement by Goa's cm that he
is the one who scrapped the SEZ and Regional

promoting statement...the people of Goa had to take a
lot of trouble to organise an agitation, the GBA should
take the credit for the regional plan...cause not
until the 11th hour the CM nor the ruling dispensation
actually scrapped any plan...

it is the people who saved Goa and not any
politician...even now in the midst of the controversy
related to benaulim...see how the CM is playing with
the sentiments of the villagers along with Babu
Ajgaonkar...

If the CM wants to save Goa and be Goa friendly, he
should first instruct the mines to practice
non-polluting ways of mining...but that he will
not...cause...he himself has invested in the mining

Digu, the repairer of democracy

Well, i read a disgusting post on this topic and
thought of wasting a little of my precious time in
educating the fanatic brigade on the following:
(1) wasn't the same Digu who distributed saffron hats
to the migrants in Margao while he was in the BJP --
the outcome was he managed to defeat all the
candidates in the fray and help BJP win margao
(2) wasn't it the same digamber at that time? or have
the migrants become evil just because they shifted
loyalities like their leader from BJP to congress?
(3) at every hustings in Margao, hasnt digamber played
the same trump cards which he played while he was with
Porrikar in the communial BJP?
(4) when it suits the BJP digu is projected as a

digu becomes a zero...

Arnt Delhiwallas governing Goa?

What a mail by J CGod! Every Goan should print
this mail
and stick it on their forheads or paste it on their
doors ..finally the best mail on Goanet came by in a
long time...hope the
fanatical posters on Goanet understand the depths of
this mail and its contents...well written JC...

Today a group of fanatics are trying to save Goa...i
agree with J C ...too late...Goa was lost when it was
liberated...that liberation was Goa's doom...

Today a group of photo journalists are touring
Goa, and trying to put the blame on the ruling
dispensation...what happened when other governments
were in power? did they build mud homes instead of
concrete jungles or
they just didnt get enough time before they were
kicked out by the electorate to convert Goa into a
concrete jungle...tomorrow if the out of power brigade
ever comes to power, will they build stone houses with
lime instead of cement?

Wake up Goans do not fall prey to this fake
propogandait is easy to shout 'rape' and allow
the rapist to run away or get away through the back
door...

in fact Goa was sold out by Bandodkar, sashikala,
rane, willy and the subsequent politicians...the
current greedy crop of politicians are only following
in the trend of the old masters...and i doubt the new
generation of politicians will ever change the
trend...today corruption and loot is started at the
panchayat, municipality level and it graduates to the
MLA or minister level...

take for example margao...babu naik laid the
foundations for the monti dongor slum for
migrants...when asked by the media once, digu smartly
said he doesnt know who started the migrant trend in
margao...digu built homes, toilets for them, gave them
ration cards and also won their votes and hearts...

can someone stop this type of 'rape'of this land...

following such examples...slums have cropped up in
every village...Goans must fight that...but the local
politician and his panchayat or municipality level
croonies will prevent that from happening...so
understand where Goans lost?...where is goa losing?

And the migrants wont care if digu contests the
election on BJP or congress...to them he was the
saviour under any banner, to them they believe Digu
more than the God who they worship but have never seen
heard or felt...so who cares...

So the actual rape of Goa is done by who? the
builders? the politicians? or the mine owners? or the
migrants? or their patrons? or by Goan voters
themselves?

If the constitution is quoted...any indian is free to
settle in any part of india...see how Amitabh Bachchan
is proving that to Raj Thackeray...judge!

One Goanetter shouts hoarse
saying...Delhiwalla...doesn't all ruling parties in
goa take commands from Delhiwallas?
Isnt the high command of the BJP and congress in
Delhi? so delhiwallas can decide on Goa's governance
and that is
pleasure...but if a delhiwallah develops property in
Goa is is called 'rape'?

Weren't there migrants and builders from outside Goa
during the successive governements rule as they are in
the era of the congress?

Didnt investors from outside Goa come down to buy land
and invest in business during the BJP rule as in the
congress...?

Why are Goans running away from Goa to the
gulf...australia...london? why?

Why is there such a huge demand to acquire Portuguese
passports and flee Goa?

Why are minorities feeling so insecure in Goa? and who
fuels the fires against the minorities?

Has Goa progressed since Liberation...we oppose
anything and everything...from a new airport to a new
housing plan...we target any growth prospects by
naming it 'rape'wow what a word this?

Goans, who ever are left out there...please see
through the evil designs of certain vested interests
who are set to ignite the fires in Goa and in every
village and will run away to a foreign land once the
hidden agenda is achieved...

Be careful of the people who shout rape -- face them
and ask them if they can help you catch the rapist
than merely shouting rape or photographing a raped
victim when it is too late...

well if we block every project and try to give it a

Who has appointed these few Goans as godfather
generals of Goa?

Are they really protecting Goa or are they saving it
for future ruin when the communial brigade comes to
power?

I feel development is needed in Goa, but ot at the
cost of putting pressure on the existing
infrastructure.

The so called éxposers of the rape'should focus their
attention on the actual rape of Goa through bad roads,
bad water supply, bad electricity, public transport
system, etc...cause that is what effects the Niz
Goenkars...can someone photograph the ghantis who
occupy top jobs in governmental offices? can anyone
photograph the corrupt montris and expose them?

any one? or does this anti development propaganda
through photo journalism have a hidden agenda?

I think right minded Goans must ask this group that if
they have the b***s they should focus their lenses on
the culprits who are responsible for the rape of Goa
than the rape?

What sort of justice it would be if we expose the rape

It is good to see that Goans in salcette, specially the coastal belt have

all along, their elected representatives took them for a jolly good ride by
selling their village land to the landsharks...

But i would ask a questions to Goans as to who they consider a bigger threat?

The Land Sharks of the Mining Lobby?

While a section of Goans is attacking the outsider lobby in the real
estatearn't there outsiders who have made a fortune by raping goa's forests
and due to incessant mining activities?

Why is the section of the so called future leaders not having the guts to
confront the mining lobby? is it because the roots of almost all og Goa's main
political parties have gone deep into the mining industry?

I guess if Goa is to be preserved for another generation...and if the plans

the facist propoganda carried out by some fanatics...

If Goans think Manohar Porrikar is a Youth icon
consider the following...

(1) Porrikar is way too advanced the youth status and
age
(2) Goans will never want a nicotine addict as a youth
icon

(3) Communalism has no place in Goa and hence Goans
will never vote for a communial facist as a youth icon

(4) Porrikar has displayed time and again that he
lacks ethics by constantly playing politics of back
biting and double cross...brining legislators to
desert parties and gain the majority...

are Goans such fools as to vote for such a fallen man
as the youth icon?

The fanatic brigade must realise that it was Dr Oscar
Rebello who was chosen as the IBN Goan face of the
year...

[Goanet] . Re: Rajan Narayan's fantasies (Carvalho)

2008-05-11 Thread cedrico dacosta
Rajan Narayan's fantasies...

Brilliant mail from Selma...i guess Rajan would have been called a descendent
or a brother of a prominent God or Goddess had he to tread the RSS line or sung
fake hosanas of Porrikar...smashed the lower castes and praised the upper
castes and aided in the wholescale communalisation of GOA! Which will never
happen!

As far as the Goa\s Youth Icon is concerned...all i can say is Goan's have
not lost it yet! although the out of power fanatics seem to have totally lost
it...

  Cheers

[Goanet] FW: Goa- WARNING TO ALL PROPERTY OWNERS IN GOA (goasuraj

2008-05-11 Thread cedrico dacosta
  Dear Floriano...

Please get out of your fantasy paradise and come down to the world of
reality...You claim the revolution was born in 2000...we are eight years ahead
since then...if your party couldnt make it to a single seat in the LA till
date...its hopes are very dim...

I am sorry to say, but there have been several opportunities for you to prove
your point of a revolution and yet one hardly heard of a ripple created by
you...so do you expect Goans to take you seriously in the comming future or an
also ran...

I understand your sentiments...but ...think again...

[Goanet] Survey to name Goa's new patron saint

2008-05-11 Thread cedrico dacosta
Taking a cue from TOI-GOA...i strongly suggest that
Goanet take up a survey to name Goa's new patron
saint...

The survey should not be biased, pre-cast and should
include a secular reader base...

I guess soon Goans will wake up to a new patron saint
for GOA...and he will be based not in old Goa but
either in Mapusa or Panjim...if someone offers him a
home out there, as allegedly the future patron saint
of Goa doesnt have a home to stay in Panjim...ask one
Tarcar, and he will enlighten you more on the
subject...

This idea came to mind at this unearthly hour of the
night after I read Minguel Braganza's brilliant
post...

Trust some lunatics to make heroes out of zeroes...

Goans await more planted surprises in the media in the
coming days...the circus is about to begin and the
ring masters are busy working overtime that this time
around the lion jumps through successfully the ring of
fire and doesnt beat a hasty retreat with his tail in
between his legs...like the previous two attempts...

Kind regards

Resurecting Zuwarkar to crucify Babush?

The recent move to ressurect the fallen Congress Idol
and once money bag -- Somnath Zuwarkar from Taleigaon
is a clear move to raise this narkasur to checkmate
Babush at the coming hustings.

Wonder why the man who destroyed Zuwarkar -- Manohar
porrikar and his business enterprise the BJP is silent
at this? Has Porrikar's pockets been filled to kep
mum?

Strange sense of politics this...

[Goanet] Famous Zatra -- Sister Goddesses!

2008-05-10 Thread cedrico dacosta
The festivities of the famous zatra of Goddess Lairai
in the village of Shirgaon got underway yesterday.
Lairai is a member of the septet of sisters, one of
whom is the Milagres Saibinn of Mapusa. This is
an exemplar of the syncretic elements in Goa's
religious tradition.

The above is an extract that apeared on Goanet...may i
ask the reader the origin of this scripture...i would
want to read it myself...

i immediately called a respected saraswat brahmin
hindu friend in Mapusa...who retorted...ask the poster
which is the elder sister and who is the younger...

Some fragmentation of the writers's mind this!

Kind regards

[Goanet] SouthGoa is heading towards water crises

2008-05-09 Thread cedrico dacosta
SouthGoa is heading towards water crises

Very nicely put...the rate at which the salcette
citizens are suffering due to acute water shortage is
really a point to note...recently the BJP had
organised a dharna in Margao...but of late...nothing
has been heard...

The state of south Goa's only dam at selaulim in
pitiable...thanks to the mining lobby which polutes
the entire water resevoir...

but as long as politicians in power are supported by
the mining lobby...there is much that can be
done...unless the people come out in the open to
expose the politician-mining lobby nexus.

can we start with the CM?

Goa Faces the onslaught of Industrial pollution...

jog my memory...does Joaquim Alemao represent Cuncolim
in the LA...btw he and Digamber are trying since the
last monsoon to get rid of the garbage problem at
sonsoddo...so you can imagine the delivery rate of
these politicians...

honeslty the people of cuncolim should confront
Joaquim Alemao and Digamber on the neglect of Cuncolim
constituency...

and if he cannot resolve the issue...show him the door
at the coming hustings!

Goribancho Alaxiro...

if only all the money that made the dailies in Goa
richer to wish a member of the clergy was wisely
invested to uplift the downtrodden sections of
society...

to the congressmen...this is another occassion to gain
cheap mileage...and to the communial elements...todays
function at the keserval garden retreat is another
opportunity to show to the world they are
secular...they even felicitate catholic priests...
