Fully agree that our Catholic youngsters need to pick up Devanagri
for better competitiveness at the national level. Particularly in the
central Civil Services (IAS, IFS, etc.) -- which have not seen many
Goans after some great lights from the ICS days and even after
1947. A cousin of mine (born and brought up in Madhya Pradesh)
is in the rank of Addl. Secretary to Govt of India/Chief Secretary to
a big state, though currently on deputation with a UN body.
Do hope to write on Konknni some time again and will surely echo
your point -- without the use of the word 'Catholic' of course! Else I'll
have all the Hindu Brahmins pouncing on me again at Goanet :-)

Have been a silent admirer of your esteemed postings and the knowledge
that you share. I do fully subscribe for your views and opinion
expressed. I wish to add that Devnagiri must be given due importance
due to the fact that the script will help particularly the catholics to
learn Hindi and be something at all India level i.e to rise and shine
in the Indian cadres and not confined to Goa. We need effective and
qualified Goan administrators and not be ruled by others. It is for
sure Devnagiri will help our sons and daughters to outshine at all
India level.
