'LetsGotoGoa' campaign...
For last one month or so, this message was circulated
to all friends/Websites etc all over the world (not
just Goans/Indians), strangely, I got back this mail
with COMMENTS. Quoted in the end..
If that is true ? (I am sure there is some truth it
it).
What steps are being taken by our Govt. etc
to make these events successful?

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT GOA THIS NOV/DEC
Two big events to take place in GOA (india)
1. International Film Festival (IFFI) This November
2. Exposition of St.Francis Xavier: Nov.21 to 2nd
Jan.2005 (This only occurs once in 10 years; This
saint died over 450 years, but his body is almost
intact, one could see his head, face, hand, fingures,
feet etc.with original vestments. He is in silver
glass casket and only opened to public once in 10
years.

Why you should NOT visit Goa this Nov/Dec 2004
1. This time: november-december, is a high season in
Goa. Hotels are overbooked, beaches and streets are
overcrowded, roads are overloaded, prices for
everything are 2-3 times more higher, than in october
or february. And it is realy very difficult to find
accomodation.
2. Last few years it became fashionable (due to
promotion) for Indians from Bombay and other big
cities to celebrate christmas and new year in goa.
That will attract additional 250 000 people.
3. This year stFrancis Xavier will be shown to public.
10 years ago, when he was opened last time, about 3
millions of people came to see. And all population of
Goa is only 1,3 millions!
4. At the same time, first Indian International cinema
festival will attract additionaly about 100-200
thousands of people.
That will be complete mess! I would not recomend to
visit Goa in that period. I`m planing to move from
here somewhere else in December. Allready last
December was too much...
