** AUSTRALIA. 12085, Dec 24 at 1349, this RA frequency is unusually weaker than 
12065, reverse of usual situation due to azimuths, a mixup? By 1402, back to 
normal and both much weaker than the Oklahoma service on 9580 (Glenn Hauser, 
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** BOLIVIA. 5952.48, UT Sun Dec 25 at 0223, Radio Pio XII leading up to a misa, 
S9-S7 and stronger than hetter 5950 WRMIBS at S7-S6. 0225 mentions Pio Doce, 
and over to a non-SS YL correspondent. Already off at 0239 recheck: I was 
expecting them to stay on late for an Xmas eve midnight mass. 6134.8 Radio 
Santa Cruz also off by now, ceding to the Apparition on 6135.2.

I also scanned the 90 and 60 m bands a few times, but found nothing unusual for 
Xmas eve, such as reactivations or prolonged schedules of the few LA stations 
left. Maybe better luck on New Year`s Eve (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING 
DIGEST)

** CUBA. 5040, Dec 25 at 0140, RHC is S9+30 of dead air, still so at 0218. No 
monitoring session would be complete without some foulup by RHC (Glenn Hauser, 
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** GERMANY [and non]. 11650 & 9790, Dec 24 at 1907, JBA carriers on two of the 
publicized frequencies for NDR`s annual Xmas eve broadcast for mariners, `Gruss 
an Bord`. I knew it would be rather pointless to try to hear it in deep 
landlocked North America; nothing audible on other listed frequencies 9810, 
9740 (which turned out to be on 9470 by mistake), 6145, 6125. 

Second bihour is on a mostly different set of frequencies; checked amid at 
2204: JBA carriers on 9590, 9765; 9830 JBA but fighting a local birdie; 9650 
weak signal barely modulated but later in French, likely Guinea; nothing on 
5935 or 6145, the latter reported to have been turned off by Armenia before the 
second segment (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KOREA SOUTH. 1566, Dec 24 at 1335, JBA carrier from NW until cut off about 
1344:33* for antenna/language switch of HLAZ, FEBC Jeju Island. Back on and 
weaker a few seconds before 1345 for Chinese succeeding Japanese. Signal is 
fading more than usual; no TP carriers found elsewhere on MW band complete 
9-kHz scan, not even at the low end. (I have often been filing this under unID, 
but with the known break in carrier time, it`s quite definite even if no audio

** MADAGASCAR. 5008.2vv, Dec 25 at 0139, wishy-wobbly carrier is already on 
from presumed RNM, soon slides down to 5007.8. But recheck at 0218, nothing

** MADAGASCAR. 17640, Dec 24 at 1808, MWV with American advice on family 
finances and gift-giving, segment produced by AIMF for APR. Good at S9+10, the

bad co-channel MIXTURE with BBC Persian language sce from UAE Al Dhabbaya,

surprisingly good signals noted on Dec 24 / 25 / 26 from Hargeysa.

7205 Omdurman Sudan Radio, S=9+10dB proper signal at 0344 UT.

7236.416 varying, test tones of technicians in Radio Ethiopia, 0345 UT
S=6-7 signal, tone test procedure. Also 100 Hertz BUZZ tone either side.

Also test tone on 7234.112 kHz at 0348 UT, S=9+10dB UNKNOWN ?

7350 new Kurdistan Radio frequ ? S=9+35dB at 0353 UT, ex7400kHz,
from Grigoriopol Maiac Pridnestrovie, - POWERHOUSE signal into Iran/Iraq.

7370 VoIRIB Sirjan in Arabic S=9+45dB powerhouse.
7380 VoIRIB Zahedan in Arabic, better audio quality, S=9+40dB.

7425 Voice of Palestine, AR comment talk, on Palestine occupied soil by
Israel. 0357 UT, audio buzzy on phone-in talk, S=9+35dB.

7445 BBC Persian sce from Grigoriopol Maiac Moldova Pridnestrovie relay
S=9+30dB.
MinPres Nedanjahu Israel on land occupation matter in United Nations

I pointed out on WOR 1857 that this might be a problem:

6080 BRAZIL. Radio Marumby-Curitiba (Tentative), at 0040, on 17 Dec, in
Portuguese. A male speaker sounds as if he is preaching based on the tone
of his voice and words he is using such as "Cristo." An instrumental hymn
played next with a new announcer coming on and speaking with music playing
in the background. Poor (John Cooper, PA, ODXA YRX via DXLD)

I suppose it may be better further east (Glenn Hauser, OK, DXLD)

6145 kHz.  Male announcer in English, with pop mx, clear ID and mention of 
transmitting from Armenia, talk about what a wonderful medium radio is (I 
agree!), then into Christmas vocal at 2051, "A Few of My Favorite Things."

** CHINA. 7415, Dec 25 at 1523, Firedragon jamming at S6-S9. Long time since I 
have caught one instead of CNR1 jamming, and if you have to jam, this is the 
most entertaining way to do it. Aoki shows target is RFA Chinese via Tinian at 
15-21 (plus another hour via Kuwait).

7300, Dec 25 at 1524, Chinese at S9+10: this must be CNR-1 jamming, as RTI in 
Chinese is scheduled Sat & Sun 15-17 per Aoki. In both cases only one station 
is audible (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 17730, Dec 25 at 1452, RHC Spanish carrier is breaking up, as are to a 
lesser extent, 17750 and 17580. Still so on 17580 until 1459* (Glenn Hauser, 
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EGYPT. 9515.127v, Dec 25 at 1506, open carrier with hum, maybe just barely 
modulated. Keeps varying upward, then down a bit as I try to measure it. This 
reading is as of 1508. Scheduled on 9530 is R. Cairo Albanian service at 15-16, 
200 kW, 325 degrees from Abis and also USward. Ivo Ivanov was also hearing dead 
air split on 9515.3 at 1103 Dec 18, assumed same source (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX 
LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. Altho the premise of the title is debatable, one of few gems on OK 
commercial TV is a feature series of short reports, `Is This A Great State, Or 
What?`. Galen Culver has been producing three of these a week for 25 years now, 
some 3000 stories (that would really multiply out to 3900), celebrated Dec 25 
at 1730 UT on KFOR with a half-hour special of clips. I haven`t found a link to

** SPAIN. 15390, Dec 25 at 1456, REE IS lead-in to 1500- broadcast is S9 but 
distorted, while 1550 is OK at S7-S9. Cleared up later (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX

** UGANDA [non]. 15240, Sun Dec 25 at 1900, weak African music from presumed R. 
Munansi via WWRB, still at 2002 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 2520, Dec 25 at 1250 UT, the S6 carrier now has some music modulation 
audible, 1301 announcement by YL, but vs S9+10 storm static crashes approaching 
from western OK/TX. Presumed WOCO, 2 x 1260, Oconto WI as per other definite 
logs, such as Dave Valko, PA, Dec 23 at 1205-1256. (Art Delibert in Maryland 
says Washington DC talk station WWRC 1260 also harmonicizes around there on 
2520.) My standard remark about DXing MW harmonix: unless it cause harmful 
interference, do not report to the station about it, let alone seek QSL, as 
that may encourage them to suppress it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 11935-11940-11945, Dec 25 at 1530, DRM noise at S9. Nothing is 
scheduled in DRM at this time on 11940 just wooden REE Spain in HFCC; and VOA 
Radio Ashna in Dari via Kuwait, which would surely not be DRM; and EiBi has 
neither. One might guess Vatican Xmas special or Romania? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
