Re: [Hardhats-members] Demo of Scheduling Functionality
The article is wrong. Scheduling is not included in VistA-Office EHR v1.0. Re: [Hardhats-members] Demo of Scheduling Functionality
What is the context hospital or primary care clinic/outpatient? I would not recomend VistA scheduling if all you want is a scheduling systemthere are other choices that would be better and much easier to implement at this point in time. Re: [Hardhats-members] Demo of Scheduling Functionality
It appear there have been improvements in scheduling since January2005 if the documentation is any guide, so are you sure, Joseph, that it isn't much better than it used to be? The next FOIA to be posted may do the trick. I just checked. The last FOIA posted was Nov 2004. Re: [Hardhats-members] Demo of Scheduling Functionality
Luke, Not to be a wet blanket here, but I wasn't impressed with VistA's scheduling module. It text based (not GUI). Also, most offices (I believe) combine scheduling with their billing software. And VistA is insufficient in that area as well. So our office has chosen to use VistA as a medical record package, but not as a practice management package. Hope that helps. Re: [Hardhats-members] Demo of Scheduling Functionality
Gentle folk; Scheduling is one of the oldest packages in VistA. As such, it needs the most re-engineering. It is a fertile field for a re-write. Use the functionality as it currently stands as a black box of functionality. From there, we can start re-implementing this central piece of the VistA architecture as a modern piece of reusable tools to employ and make the rest of the pieces of VistA stronger and better integrated. Lots of opportunity to shine here and learn about how VistA and the Kernel work.
